Best Feature(s):easy to set upPerformance:goodValue For Money:competitive pricingvery fast delivery! A lifesaver as my original home mesh routers died on me and I worked from home. Installation was easy to navigate. Bought the 3 packs so that I can keep 1 node to use at my new place together with my twin pack XT8s via aimesh. So happy!! Thanks seller!!

Quick and easy configuration. A bit slower than the than the TUF Gaming AX3000 its replacing as main home router. Needs to be close to each other to connect the mesh units but only in the configuration. Worked flawlessly after that. Looks unintrusive. Will be upgrading again to the XD6 or XT8 to replace AX3000. Eventually the XD4 will carry my IoTs then the XD6 or XT8 the work and school devices. I only wish my ISP can provide more bandwidth.

I consider this mesh router system works well. It is able to cover more than 3000 sq ft of area (including the garage) connected wirelessly with a 3-unit system (1 master router & 2 satellites). The realistic maximum speed I can get from this system for WiFi-6 is around 550 Mbps, which is much lower than the 1200 Mbps advertized, but is good enough for me. I consider the security of this Asus system is much better than TP-Link deco system. I can disable remote access to the Asus routers settings while TP-Link deco routers cannot disable remote access.
I have 2 of these together with ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 WiFi 6 AX6600 (2 Pack). I used them to set up a mesh wifi in my modern reihenhause (with floor heating), and the behavior is flawless. I was able to integrate it pretty simply into my relatively complicated home network topology. In a modern row-house cover multiple floors is challenging as the wiring and floor heating create a kind of faraday shield b/w the floors -- meaning I get my neighbors wifi signals really strong, but my wifi a few meters below has little to no signal. I do have ethernet ports available on the top floor, ground floor and basement, so I plug the routers into those locations and the middle unit (the mini) is able to use the neighboring router signals sufficiently well. I do have ethernet ports available on the top floor, ground floor and basement, so I plug the routers into those locations and the middle unit (the mini) is able to use the neighboring router signals sufficiently well. I helped neigbors set up their repeaters and I can confirm that my experience was much better than theirs and I now have completely hidden routers providing fantastic, strong, fast, whole-house wifi. Super nice. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is minor but annoying and easy for Asus to fix: the plug has the very common perpendicular transformer orientation, meaning it blocks other plugs when put in a strip or standard 3 plug socket. Annoying and there's a simple fix -- orient the transformer inline the wide axis of the plug. If they would fix that, it would be a perfect product.
We had a specific issue where our Lower Ground floor in our old house with thick walls had some wifi issues. Ethernet was fairly easy to get down there, but was not keen on purchasing another mesh router where I could not guarantee the wifi signal between the two units. The XD4 Mini was absolutely perfect for the job to fill in the poor wifi as all we needed was an ethernet cable. Performance thus far has been fantastic.
This was a refurbished model. It would probably work easier if it was a stand alone set-up. I wanted it for an ai mesh to work with my main router an ax58u. The set upended up being an access point not 3 ai mesh nodes. The set up didn’t work well with the switch between the router and the xd4s. The manual download does not cover the ai mesh much at all. Little disappointed that it not go together as an integrated mesh. Works fine as an access point so it ends up as two networks instead of one, with two routers. Not well supported for this function that I could find, you tube was some help. Maybe more research but I just wanted this to be one day and done.
I unboxed the devices and set them up. Easy to set up and the initial result was fantastic. Reliable WiFi throughout the house and the devices that needed ethernet connections working. At this point I would have awarded 5 stars. Then a couple of days later devices connected by WiFi no longer have an Internet connection. So we now have a situation where the WiFi works and the devices connected to the hub and the two sattelites work so the Internet is passing through to the hub and sattelites but they are not allowing Internet access via WiFi. Using the Asus app to reboot the router brings everything back to normal. After the reboot things were normal for a few days before the problem reoccured. It seems that a reboot gives between 1 and 4 days operation before it ... MoreI unboxed the devices and set them up. Easy to set up and the initial result was fantastic. 30 year IT pro here. I deeply researched options before buying this and am very satisfied. I upgraded from a 5 year old TP-Link Router and Extender setup that was getting flakey and never really adequate for our 3200 Sq Ft home and 40+ connected devices (cameras, smart plugs, phones, computers, thermostat, etc...). Got this one because our internet is through T-Mobile wireless home internet and tops out at about 150MB so this speed (AX1800) is more than adequate. The router and two mesh points are across the house, maybe 25-30 feet apart through a couple of walls (wood frame and drywall - my house is not wired so all backhaul is wireless) across two stories and performance has been better than I expected. I was concerned about these being dual-band vs tri-band but I have to say for my use case (relatively average internet speed and wireless backhaul) it is working extremely well with no special customizing or fiddling with. It was essentially plug and play. I have had some experience using ASUS products both personally and professionally, those have always has been good. They have a techy reputation but their support (I needed it for registration) and setup is top-notch and suitable for beginners too. Long story short, the router works great, I like that it has both web and app access (both are slightly buggy but no worse than others I've seen and better than most - the ONLY issues I've run into was weirdness with assigning icons to devices on the network, pretty much a non-issue really). I was considering Eeros, Netgear, Tenda, and TP-Link products too but choose the ASUS because you are not prompted for subscriptions or have limited config options that the other brands have. Recommended!
