My only issue was that after physical setup, there was no instruction as for the port to look for its admin screen.Otherwise its a great NAS.
Great Budget NAS for home or small business. Apps are good and tried plex with plex pass and it works great with hardware transcoding.
If you using it with something out of old school NAS scope, better look elsewhere. It fine as long as you position it as an old school NAS. (stored file over network). Asustor can't compete on software I think they should use plastic instead of metal case. and put more RAM and CPU into it.
I would not recommend this NAS to anyone; it is similar enough in price to the Synology DS920+ to justify getting that for the superior OS alone. A friend has that NAS, and my drives work perfectly well in it, but immediately fail in my Asustor; identical internal hardware. Not sure if I want to give the Asustor a chance for the programmers to fix the OS to make my drives work, or just sell the NAS. I wish I could change my rating, but Newegg defaulted it to 5 eggs for me, and I can't change it.
6+ Months of usage have been good so far especially from a hardware perspective.
Pros: Very good spec for the price runs VMs from the nvme at a more than usable speed for what I needed ( crm and accounts package )
I looked at all (4) drive NASs. No others have the M.2 drive capabilities. You also get two 2.5 GbE ports. It's a powerful little NAS. I believe this is the best (4) drive NAS you can buy.
I'm still working to figure out some of the features. It's not clear from the display what the status is of files being copied onto the drive, for example. This was purchased as a replacement for a now-unsupported WD MyCloud. I'm hoping to get better support from this unit and longer life as well.
I do recommend this product and would purchase again.
