I've used low end and high end scopes for years. I'm mostly a spotting scope freehander, a tripod does make it much easier to use though. This Athlon is my first with this brand, the build quality is very nicely done. Glass quality is obviously superior. I'll use it for a couple of years then move up, maybe another Athlon.

I had ample opportunity during Covid stay at home to start documenting birds from my backporch. As I live on the edge of a forest there's a non stop parade of wildlife for viewing. I ditched my 30 year old Bushnell binoculars for this Athlon spotting scope. It delivers a wow factor every time. 5 Stars

My wife and I were at an Outdoor Sports show a couple of years ago and first became aware of the Athlon brand then. We didn't really intend to buy any particular brand at the time. Glad we entered into the Athlon world now. The selection is awesome, the quality seems to be top shelve. Crisp optics and ease of use!.
As a person looking to own a quality spotting scope without breaking the bank, I can say that this one checked off all of the boxes on my search list. Quality optics and easy to use, happy days!
