These are a great value by their reviews on line. I bought these for hunting and to replace my old binos. I am no glass expert and have yet to spend any time with top end glass. What I can tell from these is that they are brighter then the athlon ares 15-45x65 spotting scope and it feels like they have more detail. The edge to edge clarity is substantially better then the ares spotter and blows away my old binos which it should as they are not the same level of glass. Athlon warranty is supposed to be very good and I've been told by many people that they are very good to deal with. These will work excellent for what I do with them and if I run them over they will be covered

I did a lot of research before I decided to buy these binoculars, and there are a lot of good offerings out there from other companies like Vortex and Vanguard. Since I'm already the happy owner of 2 Athlon riflescopes I felt comfortable going with Athlon again and I'm glad I did. These feel very good in hand, solidly built and of quality materials. The clarity is amazing, and it's edge to edge. I often can't wait to grab them to see things up close. They also have a good close focusing distance. Athlon has a no hassle lifetime warranty if any harm ever comes to them. I'm very happy with my purchase and with B&H for offering them. I've always been happy with B&H's service.

I have the Swarovski 10x42 but not the 8.5x42 so I bought this binoculars to pair with my 10x in order to cover different magnifications. The optics is so excellent that I bought two pairs of Cronus 10x42 for work purposes. They are almost as good as my Swarovski. The major complaint about this binoculars is that the hinges are very stiff (requires 2 hands) and the focusing knob is very tight (requires 2 fingers) but I have read reviews that they will loosen up after some usage. The rubber armour is also less pleasant to hold compared to my swarovski due to the texturing. The case is very basic etc. But at this price I should not be complaining.

Pristine image quality, even in low lighting situations.
I initially started my binocular journey with buying a cheap broken pair that was immediately thrown into the trash. Not to be deterred I bought a nice pair. Although impressed by my second pair I thought how better could binoculars get. After much research and 2 more upgrades I now realize what it fuss is all about. The Cronus binoculars are far and away the best me and my wallet have seen. Clarity, build quality, balance and functionality are all top notch. Im sure there is better out there but these far exceed my expectations.
