Audeze Penrose Wireless Gaming Headphones for PlayStation by Addicted to Audio

Build quality is solid . really premium . sound quality is SUPER good. a big BUT. software is buggy . and wireless range is not far. can only go outside room and then its gonna have cracking sound or will disconnect. lstning to music/vid also sometimes have crack sound a bit. but for game mmg power.

Beat in class audio quality, but awkward features.

Had these a few weeks, easily the best sounding headset I've ever had. They also work with both Xbox Series X & PS5 which is great as many headsets do not. They are, however, a bit of a pain to live with. The mic is very hit & miss, the app is terrible, and the volume wheel is a choice between the first 3 wheel clicks or having your ears melted. Overall I do recommend them though, as they really are unmatched for audio quality and the directional audio is excellent as well.

Best gaming headset I've used by far.

Fantastic sound and decent ease of use. No Android app at time of review and some features can only be accessed by connecting to a PC(eg sideline and eq). Headset is a bit tight but I expect it'll become more comfortable over time.Ugly, but I'm not going to mark them down for that because the pictures are right there and I knew they were ugly when I bought them.They feel solid but I do want a stand and hardcase.Happy with my purchase so far. No range issues and no noise.

Excellent audio quality

However, this tip may help ease slightly.I have kept these headphones on to a small memory foam head pillow overnight for them to stretch a little and this did help minimise the clamping force. Make sure you DO NOT overstretch this process.Software is very basic and does not provide any surround sound options, unlike Mobius.However, you can use Dolby Atmos for headphone / DTS X headphones to enhance your gaming experience (although additional software license purchase on windows store is required if you need these features). I would recommend you get (Dolby / DTS) to enhance your experience even further in gaming.If you want the best-sounding wireless headphones, then these should be on your top list.

Excellent sound but has issues

This headset has superb sound. Unfortunately it has two issues that prevent it being great. 1). Design flaw - there is now way to simultaneously hook this up to a playstation and a pc. You have to keep moving the dongle between the devices. Alternatively you can put the dongle in one and use auxiliary cable for other (but you are now tethered not wireless). Possibly if you have Bluetooth on one you may be able to hook up wireless and Bluetooth and do it that way, but I haven't been able to test that. Steelseries have solved this problem by allowing you to route direct to their dongle equivalent from an auxiliary source and easily switch between them. If you play many older games or a fair number of recent Indies then if you turn off sound or the audeze powers off because of silence (eg. In a pause menu) then you have to restart the game to get sound back. This is a nuisance and in games without frequent saving or no manual save can be a real problem as you lose a lot of time replaying the segment. I spoke to audeze and they claim not their problem but game developers problem. Perhaps but it seems to occur 30 percent of time and my old steelseries did not have any such c issue so I reckon audeze could fix this if they tried.So great sound, but a few things hiding it back from being a good user experience.

Good, but with some compromises

+Sound quality enjoyable with games and movies+Bluetooth, wireless dongle and wired connectivity+Lightweight, for an Audeze-Comfort only so-so-Battery life not the greatest-Mediocre isolation for closed backI wanted to like them, but overall the quality sound didn’t outweigh the other trade offs when it comes to a gaming headset for me personally.

Great features and sound

I purchased the Audeze Penrose X headphones for gaming across all my console platforms. The headphones are fantastic and Richer Sounds were brilliant!The audio quality is leagues above anything else I have ever heard. This level of quality spurred me on to also buying a pair of Sennheiser HD800s and an LG C2 TV from Richer Sound to complete the setup.Amazing products. Amazing company.

Great sound, great value multi platform headphones

I was looking to get either Arctis 7x, Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT or Penrose X and was upgrading from Arctis 1 Wireless.What I was looking for: A multi platform headset with Bluetooth+wireless and decent sound. Ruined every other headset I've tried! Absolutely phenomenal sound but still had to return them

First off these sound absolutely phenomenal and much, MUCH better than: Beoplay Portals, SS Nova Arctis Wireless, Epos H3Pro Hybrid, basically any other "gaming headset". This includes in-game and ESPECIALLY music. All the others just sound like hollow cans over wireless.Over BT it becomes comparable to others since the bandwidth is reduced.While the BT connection itself works flawlessly, unfortunately on a Win 10 laptop (and tested on a PC as well) the Mic is turned off by default. And I mean turned off from the recording levels menu in "Sounds". You basically have to go through 3-4 menus until you can unmute the mic.
