I really love the concept as it can easily put on a desk, on a table or just anywhere.I regret there isn't a volume control. It's especially a problem when you listen the music with earphones without volume control for instance.I don't really understand why there is sound out of the Sound Burger itself : it's so low that you can't really use it alone and you can't cut it off so when using earphones it could lead other people around you have a litle music that could be a problem.I think it would have been better to have a built-in 5 or 10 W speaker with volume control.Concerning quality, it's made of plastic but it doesn't really look cheap. Neither doesit it look premium in every way but it's typically 80s.

sound burger: much more than a gadget! In fact, it is indeed an XXS format record player. Her look hasn't changed since the 80s, especially in yellow! Only the essential Blue tooth function has been added to listen to your records on your HIFI system or on any amplified system. The mechanism is ultra precise and reading is done very regularly without weeping (speed fluctuation). The object is very "designer" and the vinyl disc protruding from the object gives a neo-futuristic impression of a flying saucer! ;-) Needless to say, the sound is as good as a professional turntable. I love this object from another time, built in the past to beautify the future!

It was a bit of a silly product, few would use it as a portable turntable, you'd have to take the records as well, quite unpractical in a walkman age. The real benefit was however sound quality which was far superior to the suitcase turntable types of the time, so perfectly adequate for my student conditions of the time, I also had a boom box style system to which I could connect it to. All in all, better than you might think.I was curious to see how far this reissue went in keeping the feeling of the original. The fact that it is designed so you can easily replace the battery is a definite plus. The stupid thing that annoys me is the looks of the two screws on the top of the lid, near the hinge. They look weak and amateurish, but I don't think they affect the sound. And it is a little expensive for what it is, I mean the original was, too, but I guess this is due on the nostalgia factor.In summary, if you'd like a decent turntable that doesn't take up much room when not in operation and if you already own a pair of BT speakers or headphones, maybe this could be for you.

Nice portable turntable.Audio is better than expected for such a device.The USB-C charging port is a bit picky, charges with standard USB PSUs with USB-A to USB-C cables. It does not charge using my various USB-C PD PSUs, unlike most other USB-C devices I own.I requires speed calibration before first use using the two pods on the under side. 33 1/3 and 45 RPM was a bit off, but can be adjusted quite easy with a strobe disc.The Line out and Bluetooth connection is good.Plays my records well.It would be nice if Audio-Technica offers a pouch for storing this turntable.

Fun and Versatile

I got this for Christmas and have been enjoying using it to listen to records in my home office while I work. Sound quality is good. You're not going to fool anyone into thinking this is a high-end audiophile turntable, but it's certainly better than many budget record players, and I'd say it compares favorably with other turntables in this price range. What prompted me to post this review is that yesterday we lost power for 8 hours during a winter storm, and this pretty much saved the day. Listening to records by candlelight with a fire in the fireplace, not too bad at all.

Good but I was disappointed

I was really excited to buy this portable turntable and setting it up was super easy... Connecting to my Bluetooth speak was also seamless but that's when I discovered a issue with this player. It did sound great but the volume of the speaker couldn't be adjusted up or down.I thought it was something wrong with the speaker I was using but after a lot of research and a call to Audio Tecnica I found out that the turntable doesn't have a volume control. I also discovered that Bluetooth speakers only adjust the volume of the device it's connected to not it's own volume.It does come with a cable to connect it to an amplifier which would work fine I'm told but I don't have one. In the end I returned it. :-(

Missing essential features. Needs a redesign, badly

Upon opening the box, I noted the unit had some good heft to it and felt very sturdy. I connected it up to a USB power bank (I didn't want to introduce any noise from a wall wort), the line out to some amplified PC speakers, and tried playing a record. The first couple tracks played fine, but after that things started going wrong. It skipped grooves like no other turntable. There is no way to adjust the anti skate, which was clearly at 0 resistance. OK. Fine. Let's connect a pair of old Walkman headphones or the trusty Senn 600s. Big fat NO. Can't do wired headphones; line out or Bluetooth only. I could not for the life of me get my favorite AKG Bluetooth headphones to pair with this thing. It couldn't be the headphones, because they work fine between my PC/Mac laptops and iPhone. There's no volume control for Bluetooth, which is a big problem if you're going to use Earpods or just about any cord free buds that rely on your device/an app to control the volume. I ended up returning my burger after a couple days and getting a AT120 instead. No portable turntable for me, this time. I feel AT dropped the ball and really needs to add/fix the following:-WIRED headphone out WITH a volume knob; you know, like old SoundBergers used to have, and like all normal portable stereo devices have-Volume control for Bluetooth (a screen that tells you whether you're pairing with the correct device would be nice, but might add to the cost/ or even an app could be more useful)-Adjustable anti-skate-Ditch the unenthusiastic 3600 cartridge. At this price point you should get a p-mount option if you want to upgrade the cartridge. Heck, even adapt the VMN cart and I'd be happy; it offers more flexibility for styli upgrades. I've never been impressed with how much detail is missing from conical styli

best modern turntable

For most of us vinyl is a novelty and not the primary way of listening to our music. We love the large format artwork and the magic of getting music from big plastic disc. This is the most convenient way to incorporate vinyl into daily life. It fits in a backback, self-powered, bluetooth connectivity. When your lifestyle is already accessorized with bt speakers/headphones for phone playback, you're already halfway there. Best turntable for entry level or anyone who wants convenience.
