The Audioengine HD6 are active speakers with excellent sound. The HD6 is the logical further development of the popular Audioengine 5+ speakers. The sound characteristics in the HD6 have been further refined and the technology supplemented with the latest developments. The HD6 speakers now feature a Bluetooth receiver (aptX), which enables the wireless transmission of music over a distance of up to 30 meters. In addition, these speakers also have an optical Toslink input - for connecting a digital music source. Of course, the conventional analog RCA inputs and outputs are not missing either. Unlike its passive relative, the active speaker offers a combination of amplifier and speaker, which are matched to each other for optimal sound reproduction. Therefore, you no longer need an external power amplifier, but only a playback device to which you connect the speakers directly. Problems such as overloaded tweeters due to strong distortions in bass signals or damage due to mismatched or overloaded components are thus effectively prevented.
