Decent solution for laptop audio wireless connection to analog stereo receiver.

For the price and lack of other options, this is a good product.I have not found many products that solve for wirelessly linking audio from a laptop to analog stereo receiver over distances greater then 50 feet (computer located on 2nd floor office, stereo receiver is on 1st floor family room)Sound quality is very good, but connection does cut out intermittently, maybe cutting out one second every 5-10 minutes. Due to functionality, sound quality, and price this is acceptable. As far as setup, basically plug and play (just wait for computer to install driver and enable W3 audio device on your computer audio settings).I would recommend, but do not set your expectations too high. Definitely not flawless, but gets the job done pretty well.

I like the WiFi it provides to provide the music on our computer to other rooms. However, the best way I can describe, somehow the music seems to skip/hesitate a lot. It did the same on the receiver I lost. Like the signal is interrupted. It gets annoying to me.

Love the concept but kind of a pain and cuts out a lot

I bought these to hopefully go unplugged and reduce wires, but the audio cuts out and stutters a lot, way more than is ok for laid back consumption. I have a sender on my pc, than a receiver on my A2+ and one receiver on my subwoofer. Another issue I noticed is that the subwoofer is now picking up vocals and non-base audio. Is there a fix for this?

Used this for DJing, it's dope !
26 January 2020

It's not a new product but I have used this years ago with a portable DJ mixing device called Pacemaker (not in the market anymore), and it worked like a charm. The only issue was to power it so I had to use a power bank. But with more recent hardware such as the recently released Denon Prime Go which has built-in battery and host USB ports, you could DJ fully wirelessly ! I hope Audioengine will continue selling and improving this range of products (maybe make it smaller), the idea of powering the transmitter/receiver through USB is really nice.

W3 and Me
9 February 2020

This is my second W3 receiver. One upstairs and now in a downstairs living room, sending from a family room. The upstairs W3 works totally uninterrupted with a bedroom audio setup. After I moved the living room W3 away from my amp with an extended mini plug cable It stopped cutting out when I walked near the amp, it totally noise free now. I now own 2 B1 Bluetooth receivers, one in the car, and 2 W3's, you can pair up to three W3's with one transmitter, number 3 is in my future. It is remarkable how something so small and easy to hide from view is so reliable and sounds so good.Thank you

W3 wireless audio adapter
25 October 2020

I have the W3 connected to my PC for streaming to my conventional audio system. Can't complain about the great fidelity. However what prevented a 5 star review was the the receiver/power plug combo being a connected to each other. When I first set it up the receiver unit was in an awkward position at the wall plug behind the stereo, and this caused numerous dropouts. I had to adapt an extension cord to plug the unit in so that it was in front of my stereo rack location. A longer USB cord between the receiver/power plug would be much more practical. I will have to buy my own extension to fully solve the problem and keep an unencumbered look to my setup.

Wireless Adapter for Subwoofer
21 February 2019

So far everything is working great with the wireless adapter. They paired together seamlessly and I was able to move my subwoofer across the room without dragging a cord along with it. Its worth mentioning to double check your equipment and make sure you have the appropriate wires you need in addition to what this kit comes with. My setup is a bit older (2011ish) so my equipment didnt have USB ports for power and I needed to get another power adapter to use as I needed one on each end. I also needed an additional adapter cord to go from 3.5mm to RCA. My receiver sub-port is RCA and my subwoofer only has RCA ports.

Works great! but....

Great sound! Almost, completely undetectable latency. However. Placement of the transmitter vs. placement of our wifi router seems to be an issue. I am currently experimenting but if the transmitter is closer than 10 feet to our router it seems to causing interference. I am a Mac guy and my wife is PC. The router is Mac so I seem to have no noticeable issues but the wifi signal was being interrupted to her office on a regular basis until I moved both the transmitter and router. Also, there is occaissional drop-out but I can forgive that to a degree. I only wish the range was a bit better. 15-20ft through a wall is where things get pretty choppy. On the plus side, the Bluetooth routers I have tried have such severe latency it's like adding reverb to my stereo. Based on the description and price, my expectations were:1) That it would work flawlessly in terms of transmission across my open-floor plan house (largest distance, through one wall, ~ 35 feet).2) That the sending unit would work with my admittedly old laptop (Windows 7) -- note other USB audio interfaces do work with my laptop ... e.g. Plantronics.I would give it 5 stars if both of those things worked as I expected .... so how did it turn out?1) Pretty good on the audio transmission quality ... best quality of any products I've used (of ~4), though blips out every few minutes ... good for music in the background, I wouldn't DJ with it though.2) I was disappointed that after successful driver installation (automatic) the USB alone was not enough to make the ... MoreBased on the description and price, my expectations were:1) That it would work flawlessly in terms of transmission across my open-floor plan house (largest distance, through one wall, ~ 35 feet).2) That the sending unit would work with my admittedly old laptop (Windows 7) -- note other USB audio interfaces do work with my laptop ... e.g. Plantronics.I would give it 5 stars if both of those things worked as I expected .... so how did it turn out?1) Pretty good on the audio transmission quality ... best quality of any products I've used (of ~4), though blips out every few minutes ... good for music in the background, I wouldn't DJ with it though.2) I was disappointed that after successful driver installation (automatic) the USB alone was not enough to make the sender work ...
