It’s such an amazing product, run by what seems to be a stable and thoughtful company. I thought I read somewhere that for a monthly fee we could get some benefits. But on the website I only saw that for a monthly fee we can get one benefit which is printed pictures. The benefit that I would like to have is to be able to select or deselect certain albums, so that for instance, when I have guests over I could play or have only a certain group of pictures on display. It seems to me that for a company to continue to maintain the support of a living product such as this that they might wanna depend on a little bit of monthly revenue other than the sales of new frames. I would be happy to pay a monthly subscription, Maybe 3 to 5 dollars, so that I could have this ... MoreIt’s such an amazing product, run by what seems to be a stable and thoughtful company. My mom loves this frame. It's very easy to set up, and the entire family is able to add pictures to it from the app, which was very straightforward even if you aren't super technology-savvy. Just have one person follow the instructions, and send everyone the invite link to download the app and be added to the shared album. As a gift for a mom/grandma, it's excellent. You might want someone tech-savvy to do the initial wifi connection/setup if grandma struggles with that type of thing, but really it's very straightforward. Since my mom's an empty-nester now, my sister and I upload pics to it from our school/extracurricular activities and it's her favorite to see the new pictures as they scroll through. She'll ask me the names of all of my friends in the pics if she doesn't know them and we've had fun with it. I might even start captioning them with my friends' names in snapchat first before uploading - lol. Captions would be a good feature for the devs to add. The best part is that you can add or remove pics over time - so every time I upload more pictures it's a fun surprise for her and a gift that keeps on giving. And it's more fun than just texting her pictures from every event - and as a bonus all the "pics for mom" are saved in one place. The version we bought even does short videos I think, although we haven't tried that. The only criticism I'd have is that they're a little pricey - would make more sense for them to be closer to the $80-120 range than pushing $200 in my opinion. The technology isn't that sophisticated. But overall an awesome product and probably the best gift I've given mom recently. Suggestions to Aura: 1. Try to make it cheaper since I think that 160-$200 price point is a big deterrent. It almost was for us, but we wouldn't have hesitated if it was $120 instead. There are similar products that are cheaper. 2. Consider adding a feature to edit captions into pictures that would overlay on the pic or something (without altering the image itself). Good for peoples' names or remembering pic location or event or date. 3. Would recommend altering the frequency of pictures such that newly-added photos are shown more frequently than pics that have been in the album for a long time. This might already be a feature but if it isn't, it should be. Alternatively, give us a way to increase frequency of certain pics maybe by indicating them as "favorites" or something.

I first purchased an Aura Mason Frame in Dec. 2020 as a gift for my sister. I did quite a bit of on-line research ahead of time, and chose the Aura product based on its great reviews. It was incredibly easy to pre-load it with a lifetime of our memories together and send it off to her - all she had to do upon receiving it was plug it in and turn it on to see over 500 pictures from all stages of our lives. She raved about it so much that I soon purchased one for not only myself but for our other two sisters as well….. and then one for my daughter, my mother, my father-in-law, as well as one for our vacation home. Aside from enjoying our frame ourselves (I have over 2000 pictures on my personal ones), it’s wonderful to be able to share access with other family ... MoreI first purchased an Aura Mason Frame in Dec. 2020 as a gift for my sister. All in all, I’ve bought 10 of them since that first purchase 18 months ago, and couldn’t be more impressed with the product or the company. The clarity/quality of the pictures, the ease/ability to add practically unlimited new pictures, the ability to sit and watch/enjoy a lifetime of memories, or even just catch a random one as you’re walking by….. it literally brings a smile to our faces every day. One word of caution - we initially ran into problems trying to connect my mother’s and my father-in-law’s to the wi-fi in their assisted living facilities - a 2.4ghz vs. 5.0ghz issue - but ultimately found a way to make it work. All-in-all, we absolutely recommend Aura frames, as a gift for yourself or anyone else. They’re truly wonderful : )

The Aura is a great product and works well. But does have two limitations that I have found and that could be significant depending on your goals. So, if it fits your purpose definitely buy it.I cannot recommend it more highly. The frames are great and the photo image quality is excellent. But be aware of how you want to use it.- It is not good for families trying to share photos with an elderly family member, or someone with vision issues. It is too small.I purchased it so the children and grandchildren, who are spread across the four-corners of the country, could share family events and the growth of the many grandkids and great grandchildren with a great-grandparent who is no longer able to travel and attend family events. It is too small.I purchased it so the children and grandchildren, who are spread across the four-corners of the country, could share family events and the growth of the many grandkids and great grandchildren with a great-grandparent who is no longer able to travel and attend family events. But it is too small to see without holding it up close in their lap and even at times using a magnifier to see details. There really needs to be a large grandparent version. Or maybe an app that can cast from a frame to a TV.- It is great for people to share photos with one person or home. Multiple people from many places can share photos to a single frame. But I have found no way to share photos with more than one frame. Each frame is a single isolated entity that can share only one collection of photos. It would be better if there could be multiple frames, spread around a family in different location, that could all display the same set of family photos.Sure, a person can share a photo to multiple frames, individually, by joining each frame and one at a time sharing a photo. But it would be better if a frame should share from multiple photo collections. If a frame could share from its own collection of photos and also, simultaneously, share from a shared family group. A person could then share a photo with just Mom and Dad on their frame, or share a photo with the whole family that would display on everyone’s frame.
I had originally purchased my first frame to use at my workplace. However, after setting it up at my home, my family didn't want it to go. Its so nice seeing family pictures throughout day as the frame changes the photo about every 20 - 30 minutes. It even smart enough to shut itself down at night after the lights go out. Then turn itself back on in the morning when the lights come back on. Multiple members of the family can add photos to the frame by each having their app installed, so no emailing/messaging photos back and forth. I bought my second frame as a gift for my parents (specifically my father) so that they can see our photos as well and enjoy remembering family moments. I wasn't sure if the frame was going to make for a father's day present, but Aura was able to send a second frame to me having it arrive just before father's day weekend! This speaks to the level of professionalism and the company's drive to ensure we their customer receive the best level of care and satisfaction. Truly something rare in today's cut throat economy. Thank you Aura for your product and for your service. It puts a smile our faces each day.
For my use case - mailing frame, simply showing and randomly rotating digital pictures to elderly person who is living a distance away, and regularly updating them - this product works very well. The setup for this scenario is tricky & if there is no one on the receiving end with basic smartphone/set up skills, you could get stuck. I had it mailed to my home, set it up according to the directions so that she just had to plug it in and it would automatically recognize/log in to her local wifi, but the settings apparently did not "take", and the nurse had to use her personal iPhone to set it up with me walking her through it on the phone. But she did it, and it's magic once working. Great quality pictures. Decent app, with ok picture picker. Happy Mother!
Ordered a frame as an anniversary gift for my parents' 60th anniversary. Decided to prepare before giving as they are not terribly tech savvy. The app, when used from my phone, works fairly well. Unfortunately attempts to add photos from my laptop caused the app to think I was preparing a separate frame. I had to create a zip file for the photos, send them to myself in an email, and then transfer them from my phone using the Aura app. Most family members were able to use the app without difficulty, however my uncle, who is not terribly tech savvy, had difficulty and ended up sending me photos to add for him. The app offers gift givers the ability to prepare a gift message paired with a photo ahead of time that is supposed to appear when the frame is plugged in the first time - this did not work for us, likely due to a weak WiFi connection.Suggestions for the app that would create a better viewing experience: ability to create folders within app to give users a chance to view batches of photos and switch every few weeks rather than excluding individual photos (we had over 400 photos, which makes for a cumbersome slide show); ability to use app on a laptop for greater ease of editing; function that groups photos that do not conform to horizontal display to allow greater ease of editing photo display within the app.Overall I was happy with the results. I am so happy I decided to prepare the frame prior to giving it to my parents because accessing troubleshooting tips from the website, figuring out work-arounds for trouble loading photos, and dealing with connectivity issues would have been beyond them. I recommend this product with some hesitation.
Like many others, I wanted to get digital photo frames so that my baby's grandparents could stop hounding me for photos everyday! It was important for me to not only have a great physical product, but an easy-to-use app, as a bad app would make or break everything! So glad I chose correctly. It was easy to set up and add users, add new photos, and push different photos to the two different frames I have going to the two sets of grandparents. I was pleasantly surprised that this frame can play videos (with audio!) and live photos. The touch bars on the frame are not super intuitive but we quickly got the hang of it. I definitely tried to poke the screen many many times like an ipad (spoiler: it is not a touch screen). It would be great to have an "always-on" setting for it though, as the only options are either auto shut-off when lights are low/off or a timer. Another good setting option would be to have videos autoplay with sound. Finally, since I have this on a vertical orientation, it would be nice to be able to show full horizontal photos with black bars at the top and bottom. Right now, the frame auto crops horizontal photos into vertical photos, and you have to go into each photo for each frame and adjust how it crops. Overall, really good product - digital photo frames have come such a long way! With a few additional options (basically just software updates) this could be even better.
I love my frame so much that I bought one for my other family members. They love it, too! It is so easy to put pictures straight from your phone. It runs all day and sometimes I pass by it and see a really funny picture of a grandchild and it makes my day. I sometimes put pictures on there that I normally wouldn't frame, like a child having a 2-year-old meltdown, or a child with chocolate all over his face, and it is so much fun to watch. There are pictures of special times spent with friends, and it is wonderful to remember. I also want to commend the customer service. I ordered the wrong color frame for my daughter, and they let me send it back, no questions asked and it was a very easy process. Seems like a quality product. The app is probably overly challenging to navigate; very centered on a timeline format, which isn’t very user-friendly honestly. The responsiveness of the frame after ‘large’ upload (~50 photos) was laggy. The swipe bar on the frame takes some finessing to operate. I would like to see the interface cleaned up a bit. No need for a stock image of someone else’s kid on startup; it’s like picking up a new frame from Target every time I power on. Would be good to turn off slideshow timer altogether; what if I don’t want to change the photo at a minimum every 24 hours? Also, why only English, German, and French?? Seems like Spanish language localization for (at least) the US market would be a no-brainer, whether or not people ask for it. ... MoreSeems like a quality product.
