Avanti Bakers Measuring Set - Stainless Steel

One of the best measuring sets i've ever owned - all the minor sizes (smidgen, dash, pinch, tad) plus all the classics. Cup measures have little pouring spouts too. Would be better if it came with quick release rings rather than keyrings.

I really like this measuring set with it's 18/8 stainless steel construction. The cups have a traditional round shape with a pouring lip both sides and a nice weight. The only thing that could make it a better set would be a 3/4 cup and a 1/2 tablespoon measure. An added bonus is the extra spoon measures just for fun: tad, smidgeon, dash and pinch!

Best option

I am really pleased with this purchase. Stainless steel means no discolouring, warping or surface degradation over time. The are solidly constructed and there is no concern the engraved marks will rub off either. The flat base makes for easy filling and the pour spout on either side suits both right and left handers. The split ring keeps pieces together in storage, but allows for removal when required. I like to experiment with recipes, so the mini set included helps to maintain accuracy when documenting changes to small amounts such as strong tasting herbs and spices. It's not an exaggeration to claim these are heirloom quality tools. Buying was quick, easy and my items delivered within two days.

Disappointing

Sorry, but when I buy measuring equipment, I want it to meet Australian standards. Unfortunately these do not. A 15ml tablespoon is the US size. In Australia, we use 20ml tablespoons. When I cook and back, I often use more than one set of cups and spoons, depending on the ingredients going into the spoon or cup (wet or dry) so it's impossible to use these, especially the tablespoon, with my other measuring equipment when they're not up to standard. The quality of construction is great, pity it fell short on accuracy.

Great Quality BUT Inaccurate Measures

I had hoped that the measurements would be accurate. However, they are very inaccurate. I used a syringe to check the volume in each one. The tablespoon is not 20 ml, it is 15. On the table spoon measure it states 20 ml. If following an Australian recipe I would add an extra ts. I also found the 1/2 & 1/4 spoons inaccurate. 2 x 1/2 ts overfills the teaspoon measure only lightly filling it. I would suggest all buyers to use a syringe to get the correct measure of each spoon. Medications HAVE to be accurate. Ask your local pharmacy just for the syringe without the needle & check. This can make will break a recipe turning out. I also measured the spice spoons. Incorrect measure

The tbsp is not Australian standard. The Australian Standard is 20ml. This measure is 15ml. Why have accurate measures if they are incorrect. You might as well guess.

Just what I needed!

This set is a perfect addition to any kitchen, especially if you are an avid pickler and preserver, as stainless steel won't react with or impart strange flavours to your pickling juices. The cups are quite solid but are not overly heavy. Overall, this is an extremely well made product and I highly recommend.

Meets Aus standards, picture is deceiving

These are great and are actually in Aus standards (20ml for TSB). It’s confusing as the picture they use above is the American version but they arrived and were in Aus standards so I am very happy. Quality is fantastic and I like how the measurements are written on the handle, not in the bottom of the cup. 5 stars!

These will last forever

Absolutely love my set and can't imagine trying to cook without them now, or going back to my old plastic set! They are extremely good quality, solid and surprisingly heavy. Would recommend these to anyone...

Thought of everything

Love the spice spoons. Great clip for holding them together. The measuring spoons are easy to fill and level off for a just right measurement. The cups are nicely weighted so they do not topple over. Great Set
