Aveeno Baby Eczema Therapy Moisturizing Cream, 12 Fl. Oz

I am an adult who uses this product on my face, so my review will be based on its use as a facial cream- though I'm sure this is also excellent for use on babies! : I have very dry and sensitive skin with eczema, and I need a lot of moisture to keep my face from feeling dry and tight throughout the day. This product is my favorite moisturizer to use as a daytime occlusive to keep moisture from evaporating off my skin, especially during the dry months. It has a cushiony, clear texture that works incredibly well at sealing in moisture without feeling greasy or heavy. It also has no added fragrance and is effective at calming irritation. I docked one star because I find there are two downsides to this product- the biggest one is that you cannot apply it to wet skin without it pilling up and turning into an unpleasant, grainy texture. This can be a problem even if you're using it as intended on a baby, so it's important to keep in mind if you plan on using it straight after a bath or washing your face. The second is that it doesn't tend to play well under foundation or any other silicone-based products, though that's less of a big deal since most won't be looking to use it for that purpose. It sits perfectly fine for me under sunscreen, however! Definitely recommend this for both babies and adults who struggle with dry, sensitive skin and eczema.

Good duo to decrease itchiness

Part of a line of useful and well made eczema products from Aveeno, the eczema care rescue relief and daily moisturizing cream make a great duo for people suffering from itchy, dry eczema-ridden skin. Having had eczema my whole life, it is a constant, frustrating uphill battle to try and keep it at bay and from interfering with daily activities. Even at night it is problematic due to the itchiness that sometimes wakes me up. I found the rescue relief gel to be useful if used first to relieve itchiness and the daily moisturizing cream made for a great barrier to soften the skin and keep my hands hydrated. The scratching decreased and I was able to function comfortably for several hours before needing to re-apply. The best lotion, bottle not so much.

The new bottle design doesn’t have a pump in spite of the product listing photos prominently showing one - that needs to be updated promptly. I appreciated the convenience of the previous pump design for using by my sinks to put lotion on my damp hands. The push top cap is more difficult to dispense with those conditions, which I need to ensure my hands retain adequate moisture. The product’s moisture retention when I do this are remarkable. It soaks into my hands and prevents my skin from cracking most days - some days I still need to do a moisture mask or use a thicker product when I have a flare up. Still, I agree entirely without question that the pump design left so much to be desired! I’ll just switch out the push caps for the pumps from my old bottles and move on…but I wanted to offer a fair warning to anyone looking to purchase this specific item as it was changed, since nothing about the product page specifies a push top.
