Great quality bottle. I used this bottle with my first child for a little over a year. These bottles are very durable. I've dropped them, my son has did the same, they were a bit scuffed but they held up. Markings is clearly visible, they don't smudge off or erase even after the dropping the bottle in the street the markings were easily seen. The bottles have half ounce marks and the mm/cc side is in 10mm increments. I never had any issues with the bottle leaking and all my kids easily accepted the nipple on the bottle. This bottle is sold at major retailers and I've actually seen the bottle in a few drug and grocery stores. Easy to use and clean baby bottle

I received this baby bottle from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I am a mom of three, with my youngest still breastfed and taking from a bottle during the day, so I have experience with MANY, MANY different brands and types of bottles. I most recently was using the Avent Natural Baby bottles for my youngest, and therefore already was familiar with and trusted this brand. My baby easily transitioned to using this bottle and drank from it without any transition period. It is only 4 pieces – the bottle, the cap, the nipple and the bottle cover, so it is super easy to take apart and clean, and then place back together. It is the perfect size to fit in the bottle pockets in our diaper bag or in the stroller, to it fits easily, as compare to some more rounded bottles.The only issue I had was with the nipple provided, as this was a larger 9-ounce bottle and came with a size 2 nipple, which was faster than I would prefer for a younger, breastfed baby, as I want to encourage a natural feeding experience when my baby is feeding by bottle, to extend my breastfeeding relationship. Not an issue however, as I could buy the size 1 nipple without issue and easily replaced it. As far as I can see there is no preemie nipple, which I know some moms, myself included, use early on when bottle feeding breastfed babies <6 months, so that may limit the use for some in the earliest newborn phase, when colic is at the worst.

We were using MAM brand and I couldn’t stand all the parts to clean as well as the fact that it’s impossible to warm those bottles because of the thick bottom/air vent being there. My son does well with these and the first few weeks I would’ve given them 5 stars- however like many people mention they do leak around the nipple at times. Each time I put one together I have to tip it upside down and then adjust it a few times so the nipple vent doesn’t leak. The green insert has to be pushed all the way down and seems to warp over time making this difficult- and the nipple needs to be turned sometimes to line up the air venting in a way to prevent leaks…. However after doing this they don’t leak. Great concept but wrong nipple shape for my baby

I was pleasantly surprised by the Philips Avent Anti-Colic baby bottle — I was expecting a bottle with many tiny parts to assemble and clean, but it is actually very minimalistic and well designed. For some background, my little one is almost finished with bottles. We've also moved past the throes of newborn colic and gassiness, but I can still tell when he is swallowing too much air. So I was excited to try out this bottle! On the plus side, this bottle is lightweight and easy for my son to hold on his own. The nipple is designed with a valve to reduce air ingestion, and therefore colic, and Philips has actual research to back up these statements. Unfortunately I've had problems with this specific shape of nipple before — my son can't form a good latch and there is a loud clicking and sucking noise when he drinks. Since this bottle is designed to reduce air intake, swallowing all that air kind of defeats the purpose. I also wish this style of bottle came in glass because we are trying to reduce the amount of plastic we use in our household. At least it is BPA-free!I am very happy there is another option for bottle and/or combination feeding parents out there — we all know that finding the right bottle for your little one is trial and error at best, and a struggle at worst. The wide opening made it easier to get our bottle brush in and the bottles clicked in easily to our sterilizer that we put in the microwave. The lids that the bottles come with make travelling with them very easy as well.One of the cons we have noticed is that our son is getting a little confused with his bottle nipple and the breast nipple. Prior to trying the bottles out, he had a strong latch and would latch right away to my breast nipple. Now he does the same head swaying we sometimes still see when he goes to the Anti-Colic bottles.Overall we have been pleased with the bottles and would recommend them to friends and family!

Helpful bottle for the colicky baby

My little one had a hard time getting a good latch, which in turn, led to fussiness and tons of gas from swallowing too much air. Soon after realizing this, she was diagnosed by our family doctor with colic. At this time I had decided to start pumping and bottle feeding instead. It wasn’t until I received these Philip Avent Anti-Colic bottles that I noticed a difference in my baby’s colic, fussiness, and gas. The large size is great for the larger feeds of the day without the bottle being too large for baby to hold. My 9 month old took to the nipple well and did not have any gas issues following the feed.I really appreciate that the bottle fits other Avent bottle tops so that if your baby doesn’t take the nipple, you could switch out the tops and still use the larger sized bottle. For the past month or so I have been using the Philips Avent Bottle AirFree Vent Seal (thank you Stellar Product Testing Panel for sending me the product to try). Here’s what I love about the product and a couple areas that could be improved. For context, my baby boy is 9 months old, mostly breastfed and has one or two bottles of pumped breast per day.ProsThe Look - The bottle is a very appealing shape, a great height and thickness. As it is short and wide, the mouth is wide, which was a challenge to use in my bottle warmer. I didn’t have a cap to place on the bottle so that it could safely be placed in my bottle warmer. Therefore, I had to place the bottle in a mug with hot water, and monitor the temperature myself.Every morning I prepare the bottles that I need for the day and place them in the fridge. As these bottles are wider than my current bottles, they end up taking more shelf room in the fridge.The pieces come apart very easily, and are actually a much larger size than my other small bottles. The nipple piece is large, and the cap is also noticeably larger. This came in handy when I placed the pieces in the dishwasher. The pieces are hard to lose. All of the pieces were very easy to clean and sanitize.I noticed that when I used the bottle to feed my son, he was able to drink the 4 ounces much quicker than normal. It normally takes him about 20-25 minutes to finish a bottle, yet with the Philips Avent Anti-colic Bottle, he was about 15 minutes. This difference is important to me as my son takes approximately 8 bottles a day. That’s a savings of 80 minutes of my time. My son wasn’t gassy after using the bottle, and didn’t cry after finishing his bottle like he usually does.In general, I would consider using these bottles. I would need to purchase a new bottle warmer cap to fit the wide mouth though.
