My 6 month old was the biggest surprise of my life. Raising two wild and wonderful boys felt like the most my husband and I could ever want (or handle) so like a couple of minimalist millennials, we offloaded and gave away as many and as much of our baby items as soon as it was possible. When I found out I was pregnant with our third child there was not a bib, a baby blanket, or bottle in sight. I decided rather than having handfuls of duplicate items all over the house, I would choose better quality products and only have one or two of each item. I also had to take into consideration that this time around I wouldn't have the opportunity to stay home with baby and breastfeed, making the choice of bottle and nipple, more important than ever.In my mind a perfect ... MoreMy 6 month old was the biggest surprise of my life. I also had to take into consideration that this time around I wouldn't have the opportunity to stay home with baby and breastfeed, making the choice of bottle and nipple, more important than ever.In my mind a perfect bottle did not exist. They were all pretty much the same; a bit leaky, similarly difficult to clean, gave baby too much or too little milk, and promised the moon about not giving baby gas or colic. Even the latest bottle I purchased upon my little one's arrival did not exceed any of my previously held expectations. My baby was gassy, fussy, always hungry and we were feeding him around the clock. When weeSpring Parent Panel sent me the Philips Avent Anti-colic baby bottle variable flow, 4pk, I was at a point of desperation. The choice in nipple flow was a game changer for us, with the 3month + sized he was finally able to get the amount of formula he needed without having to work so hard to get it. He took to it right away and the specific shape of the nipple helped him latch securely, no more milk drips everywhere. Not to mention, the ribbed texture of the nipple itself helped prevent nipple collapse (hooray!) which is one of the most frustrating moments in feeding, especially when baby is about to fall asleep! The biggest plus for me has been the overall mood shift of my baby and consequently, our home. I thought that this baby was just more fussy than any of my previous children. He was restless at night and grumpy in the day but this bottle changed that for us. The anti-colic feeding nipples have reduced gas and discomfort in my baby, making (almost) a full night's sleep possible, he's satiated, happy, and ready for his day. If you're like me and would rather have one product that works than a handful of others that don't, I highly recommend trying Philips Avent Anti-colic baby bottle variable flow, 4pk. The price is competitive and the quality is undeniable. Thank you again weeSpring Parent Panel for sending me this bottle and nipple set that we will continue to utilize and enjoy.

I want to start of by saying thank you to weespringparentpanelreview for allowing us to review another great product of theirs. The Philips Avent anti-colic slow flow bottle, with size 1 and size 2 nipples was an excellent bottle to my son who was born with an extensive overbite problem since birth. At first when i received this Avent bottle i was afraid to give it a try since my 9 month old son was using one particular bottle since birth. This bottle is very easy to use, it comes with an anti colic vent piece that disassembles easily and washes well easily. This BPA bottle definitely lowered my sons spit up at night. He also had a small colic issue with the one and only bottle he was using before, and this amazing bottle definitely is a win win to him and i! The valve is supposed to allow air in order to prevent air into my baby’s stomach. Another Pro i noticed is that this bottle with the vent adapter allows my son to eat at his very own pace, if looked at closely when the bottle is turned in the feeding position the milks slowly flows into the soft nipple, at a slow pace! I also noticed his burping has definitely lowered which is a plus for us to because this allows him to be less fussy and have less air bubbles which means less colics and definitely less tummy discomfort. The Only one con i can say is that it would be nice if this bottle had a particular small brush to wash the ventilated valve since i did notice the small vent i couldn’t stick anything to clean thst small particular spot. The ease of cleaning this bottle is more hygienic and a healthy eating experience for my son which is a plus also! Either than not having a small brush to clean the valve i give this bottle a 5 star! Thank you weespringparentpanelreview for giving us this bottle to review! We look forward to many many more reviews in the future!

I received this bottle and nipples to review as a part of the Weespring Parent Panel. My infant is 4 months old and breastfed. She has been taking a bottle while at daycare while I work or whenever I am not with her to nurse her. She has used other bottles, and she has used Avent bottles, but they were specifically the natural kind as they most emulated feeding from the breast.. She didn't seem to have a preference as long as she was being fed, and she transitions effortlessly between bottle and breast. She does not suffer from colic; however, she sometimes spits up after a feed. She also has the tendency to be extremely gassy after a feed, so I was very happy to get the opportunity to try this bottle with these nipples. She does not suffer from colic; however, she sometimes spits up after a feed. She also has the tendency to be extremely gassy after a feed, so I was very happy to get the opportunity to try this bottle with these nipples. What I liked about the bottle was the ease of cleaning even while using the vent system that comes with bottle. The wide shape of the bottle and even the nipples made it very easy to clean. I also really liked the way that the bottle prevented air from entering the nipple thus eliminating the creation of bubbles and the ingestion of air by the baby. Because of this, I did notice a little less spit up and less gas. I was concerned that she might not latch well because the nipple was different from previous nipples she has used, but she latched with no problem. On the contrary, there were a few things that did not work well for me. First, she is in a phase where she is learning to hold her own bottle, so having to have the vent facing in a specific direction would require a lot of attentiveness by myself and constant stopping of a feed to correct the position of the bottle if she is trying to hold it. She could use it without the vent, but I do think the vent is helpful with the gas and spit up for now. Secondly, I think the flow rate was just a tad bit too much for her as she is used to an extra slow flow rate to emulate the work she has to put in to get the milk while nursing. Because of the speed of the flow, I did notice just a slight bit of milk dribble out of the sides of her mouth, but nothing too concerning. Overall, the bottle is a good bottle that I would recommend( especially for babies where flow rate is less of a concern) because it accomplishes the primary goals of reducing spit up and gas. However, my word of caution would be to be prepared to be very attentive during feeds while using the vent system to make sure the bottle is positioned correctly.

The Philips Avent Anti-colic baby bottle stays true to Phillips’ nature: made with sturdy and long lasting parts, easy to disassemble to clean, simple to reassemble for use, and a name you know you can trust. The flow of the newborn nipple is perfect for breastfed babies learning how to eat from a bottle, barely even dripping when the bottle is tipped. A variety of nipples is a must when helping your baby learn to use a bottle, as some babies tolerate fast flows well, while other babies sputter and choke if the flow is too quick. My baby initially preferred the slowest flow nipple when she started using a bottle, but she quickly mastered the technique and started taking in too much air with a slower flow, as she was sucking so vigorously to try and get her milk ... MoreThe Philips Avent Anti-colic baby bottle stays true to Phillips’ nature: made with sturdy and long lasting parts, easy to disassemble to clean, simple to reassemble for use, and a name you know you can trust. A variety of nipples is a must when helping your baby learn to use a bottle, as some babies tolerate fast flows well, while other babies sputter and choke if the flow is too quick. My baby initially preferred the slowest flow nipple when she started using a bottle, but she quickly mastered the technique and started taking in too much air with a slower flow, as she was sucking so vigorously to try and get her milk faster. The design of this bottle is such that the nipple is full of milk instead of air, which is incredibly ingenuitive, preventing baby from taking in too much air while eating. My baby has never struggled with colic or gas, but I imagine this design would greatly help those babies with sensitive little tummies. My baby has a stage 4 upper lip tie which affects how well she can latch onto a bottle. Unfortunately, she could not latch well onto this bottle, and because she couldn’t create a good seal, she as taking in a lot of air when she would try to eat, and she got frustrated. The nipple was also longer than she is used to, and she gagged as she tried to eat. I’m sorry to report that this bottle and nipples didn’t work for us, but I would happily try it again with other babies, and I would recommend it to my friends and family with babies that don’t struggle with serious lip ties. Thanks to the WeeSpring parent panel for providing me with this nipple to try.
When you find out you’re having a baby it is always a good choice to have a back up plan. For example if you plan on only breastfeeding you might want to have some bottles for bottle feeding. Just in case there are latch issues or maybe you’ll be returning to work in a couple months and you want the right bottle for your breastmilk storage and feeding. Bottles are also a good way to allow someone else to feed baby too. Whatever the reason it’s good to have a few bottles on hand so when you’re looking for the right bottle for your baby I can honestly say I would recommend this bottle with the variable flow anti-colic nipples. The great part about these bottle nipples are that they allow milk to flow at your baby’s pace. The bottle we were given to test out these nipples was the Philips Avent Anti-Colic bottle with the Air Free Vent. These Variable Flow nipples are not compatible with the Air Free Vent but the nipples themselves are anti-colic so you won’t have to worry about excess air. The design of the nipple is great too, it’s a bit wider at the top than the usual rounded off nipples from other brands and other Avent Models. My baby took to this nipple right away without any issues. My only complaint is that the instructions for the nipple says you can turn the bottle to adjust the flow but I couldn’t figure this out. There’s no where to rotate or turn the nipple or collar on the bottle. You can clearly see the markings on the nipple for the 1, 2 and 3 stage but I couldn’t turn anything to switch this.Overall it says these are good for an adjustable flow rate, my baby is 6 months right now and she’s only tried other brand stage 2 nipples which leak when turned over and when I shake up the formula or breastmilk in the bottle. What I really love about these is that even though they can accommodate a larger flow they don’t leak! I can also use these for thicker liquids as stated on the packaging which is fantastic for the feeds when I add a teaspoon of her baby oatmeal. The nipple does not get clogged at all and she is able to drink everything and stay down for a nap longer. Another great thing is that you just pop these onto the bottle without worrying about all the extra parts and gadgets, less to clean and better for baby in so many ways! I’m so happy that I was able to receive and test this product for free from WeeSpring Parent Panel.
I really have liked this variable flow nipple. It is easy to use. What makes it great is that you are able to adjust the flow rate for your baby in the middle of a feed without having to stop the feeding and exchange it for a different nipple or being stuck with the same flow rate for the entire feeding. This is very convenient, especially when you want to adjust the flow as your baby goes from hungry (faster flow) to more content and perhaps suckling for comfort or sleepiness (slow flow). This adjustment can be made simply by turning the bottle. The flow rate is marked on the edge of the nipple, so you simply have to turn the bottle so that the mark for the flow rate you want is at the top. The anti-colic valve is not compatible with this variable flow nipple, but the anti-colic valve also doesn't work for paced bottle feeding, so I don't mind that. Simply remove the anti-colic valve and still use the bottle. With this variable flow nipple, your baby can still hold the bottle by him/herself if they are doing so, but will not understand the changes in flow rate based on the position of the nipple. The flow rate will change based on how the baby is holding the bottle if they are holding it themselves. This nipple has one hole/slit that the milk comes out of, not multiple. The variable flow feature is very nice as it allows you to control the flow of milk throughout the course of the feeding and will also last longer as your baby gets older so you won't have to buy as many new nipples as they progress and get older. The base of the nipple is wider/larger than some other bottles, which is more conducive to switching between bottle and breast, so I like that. Very clever design and I really like this product. I was given this nipple to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel in exchange for my honest review.
So some background info on my son, he is now 5 months old and was diagnosed with colic ever since he started feeding. I am a first time mom and foolishly thought colic and stomach issues will not happen for my baby which is why I never prepared for it. He was super fussy and gassy all the time and it was a nightmare to get him to burp. He is breastfed but had to start taking my milk from a bottle when he was 2 weeks old because I had to go back to work. My husband feeds him when I am not home which makes me feel bad for both him and the baby when they are not having a good time during feedings. We started with slower flowing nipples and normal bottles which were somewhat OK at first. My husband feeds him when I am not home which makes me feel bad for both him and the baby when they are not having a good time during feedings. We started with slower flowing nipples and normal bottles which were somewhat OK at first. As he grew and needed more milk during each feeding, he would just be frustrated and unhappy during feedings. He would just stop feeding and cry or act as if he was angry and irritated even though he finished his whole bottle. Sometimes he would just get distracted and bored and forget finishing his bottle, which led to being even fussier and needing more frequent feedings! We thought that now that he is older maybe we would change the nipple to a larger size and tried the vent anti-colic bottle and nipple. The nipple itself looks longer and has a bigger hole to allow faster flow rates and was super soft. He took the new nipple happily first try and I honestly did not expect it to make such a big difference! He was much more attracted to taking the bottle and was feeding just like he would when he is being breast fed. The flow rate is faster then the first nipple he used and can be described as "medium". Best part is that he is having way less stomach issues and I can keep an outfit on him the entire day due to much less spit ups! The nipple is compatible with the Avent anti-colic bottles, are easy to distinguish because the number is labeled on the side and are very easy to clean. As a first time mom we are faced with all these decisions and sometimes making small changes like these really make a big difference. Also to add to the value the nipples come in a clear container that are great to use for keeping pacifiers or nipples when on the go so that they stay clean!I would like to thank the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this product to try.
The short story: I like these bottles and I am a fan of the variable flow nipples. I gave them four stars because it can be difficult to position the nipple correctly on the bottle to get the desired flow rate when using the anti-colic valve insert. If I was buying all new bottles I would definitely choose this bottle, but I think the variable flow nipple concept works better on the Naturals line.I am an exclusive pumper, so I’ve been bottle feeding since my daughter was born. She has been using the Avent Naturals line with the variable flow nipples. She has been fairly picky about her bottles and the flow rate of the nipples. She has been using the Avent Naturals line with the variable flow nipples. She has been fairly picky about her bottles and the flow rate of the nipples. These are the narrow mouth bottles, the general shape is different, and we did experience a slight learning curve to get used to the new nipple, but she took to it fairly well after we found her desired flow rate. Other good things about this is that while there is an additional piece to maintain compared to the Naturals line, it was harder for her to gulp air because the anti colic valve keeps milk in the nipple even if she tips the bottle away from her face.I enjoy simplicity in bottles, so having the addition of the anti-colic valve is an extra step, however I didn’t find it to be that big of a deal. All of the pieces are dishwasher safe and nothing is so tiny it will get lost and it’s easy to assemble, even in the middle of the night. The biggest drawback is, as I mentioned above, the variable flow nipple can be hard to position correctly while using the anti-colic valve. You can’t just turn the bottle to adjust the flow because the valve won’t work as intended. Once I discovered that my baby likes the number 2 flow rate I could adjust and it wasn’t a big deal.As far as reducing gas/reflux, I think it was actually worse until I learned the correct flow rate and my baby learned how to latch. After the first couple uses it got much better, and she doesn’t spit up nearly as much. That said, if you’re switching bottle styles I would give it a few tries before making a final decision. Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this product.
I recently received the Philips Avent anti-colic bottle with the AirFree vent and additional sz 1 (slow flow) nipples as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. I’m compelled to write this review because of how great this truly is. You see, my little guy is three months old and has been battling terrible gas and colic since he was just a few days old. He suffers from dairy and soy protein allergies which have caused an array of symptoms and weight gain issues. The last thing he needs is the wrong bottle to contribute to his already existent gas and colic. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what was happening with the bottles we had currently been using. He suffers from dairy and soy protein allergies which have caused an array of symptoms and weight gain issues. The last thing he needs is the wrong bottle to contribute to his already existent gas and colic. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what was happening with the bottles we had currently been using. During a session with a feeding therapist (to also address some feeding issues he was having), she encouraged me to switch to another name brand bottle with tons of pieces. Luckily, I had just received the Philips Avent anti colic bottle and extra slow flow nipples the day before. When I showed her the bottle and nipple, she was highly impressed! She felt it was a perfect fit for my son to help correct some of his feeding issues, along with helping to reduce some of his colic and gas. We began using them right away, and my son took to them with no issues whatsoever. By that evening, I noticed a huge difference in my baby already. So much so that we went online and purchased a whole set! Not only is this bottle great because of how well it has helped my son, but there are quite a few other features about it that I love as well. I love that it’s very easy to clean with only a few pieces, the measurements are clear and easy to read, the milk stays in the nipple to help keep unnecessary air out, and the nipple also has a ribbed texture so we never had issues with it collapsing. The bottle originally came with a size 2 nipple, but I loved having the option of switching to the size 1 nipple that we also received. The slow flow helped my son self-pace his feedings and correct some of his feeding issues. This is truly a wonderful product, and I am so happy and thankful we were selected to receive it. The relief it has given my son is amazing. This definitely is the perfect bottle for us, and we couldn’t have received it at a more perfect time!
I had the opportunity to try this product through the weespring parent panel. I had my first baby 10 months ago and fell in love with philips avent bottles! The plastic case which was securely sealed, came with four medium flow nipples and the bottle came with one insert for air flow. The bottle is large enough to hold 9 ounces of milk which is very nice now that my little one requires more milk per feeding. The nice thing about the insert piece is that it is super easy and simple to clean compared to other bottles that come with (what seems like) thirteen different parts to it, requiring different brushes to clean. This insert can be washed with the same size bottle brush that you would use for the bottle base itself. The nice thing about the insert piece is that it is super easy and simple to clean compared to other bottles that come with (what seems like) thirteen different parts to it, requiring different brushes to clean. This insert can be washed with the same size bottle brush that you would use for the bottle base itself. The one con to this insert, I found during feedings where my baby would hold the bottle on her own. She would grab the bottle at different times where the insert was not positioned properly per the instructions allowing for maximum ventilation. The ideal position of the insert is at the bottle of the bottle when in use. I could easily remedy this by rotating the bottle while she held but if left on her own, she would not of known how. My child has always seemed to prefer more narrow bottle nipples but I do believe it is important to have a variety of nipples to avoid confusion. My little one took to the anti-collic medium flow nipple perfectly! I love that this nipple has more surface area to it (as a natural breast would have) compared to other more narrow kinds of bottle nipples. I did notice that after using the medium flow nipple, my little one would have less burps and hiccups compared to before. After a little longer usage I notice my child also had little to no spit up compared to before using this product. I appreciate that the nipple is BPA free! We ended up loving this system so much that we can’t wait to purchase more!
