Baby Bottle Warmer Tommee Tippee

We purchased one of these recently and initially found it a life saver, but having done some research since my baby became unsettled after feeds I’m shocked they are still on the market! The NHS website recommends against them due to the water not being hot enough to kill all bacteria in the formula powder. Some babies are fine as they are able to tolerate this, however a product that can potentially harm their health should not be allowed to be sold. After reading many horror stories surrounding this product I was very reluctant to purchase. A few sleepless nights later I gave in and ordered it.First of all it's so easy to set up and use. Even half asleep in the middle of the night.It's very easy to change the filter, clean and descale. It even tells you when it's time.I have always called it a life saver, but I always had the negative reviews in the back of my mind.One year on my baby is now on cows milk and I no longer need the perfect prep machine. I took the back off to check the cleanliness of the tubes hidden inside.They are perfectly clean with no mould or dirt build up.If you clean, change the filter and descale regularly as tommee tippee advise then this machine is well worth the money.The ... MoreAfter reading many horror stories surrounding this product I was very reluctant to purchase. Great product overall.Needs improvement though. No option to make a feed less than 120ml... why??? You should have an option for 90ml for newborns.Also, no option to go back or cancel when making choices. If you make an error while selecting feed size your only option is to switch the machine off from the mains and start again. Navigation should be made easier to cancel current preparation process flow.

This is a great concept and is like a espresso machine for formula. Reason for 3 stars:1. It's day and night....extra is just a light and a digital screen which is basic2. Very noisy3. You can only make minimum of 4oz or 120ml. You could however stop the cold shot but that's a faff4. Hot shot is 30ml and kendemil wouldn't dissolve so I would find lumps stuck on the bottle once the froth has settled. This is after shaking it with the lid provided and then with the bottle teat and lid5. The lid included drips everywhere once taken off so instead I just use a spoon to stir the hot shot and formula then add the cold shot.Now for the pros:1. Extremely easy to clean and set up2. If I could give this zero stars I would. Please do not buy this machine, it is potentially unsafe and harmful for babies. It does not produce the correct amount of water to make formula. We selected 7 ounces on the machine and it only produced 6 ounces of water, meaning we have been giving our baby formula which is too concentrated. This can be very dangerous and we now have to make a doctors appointment to check our baby’s kidneys. I cannot stress enough for people to not buy this machine. I’ve seen so many more people posting online now about the machine not producing the correct amount of water. It has caused so much worry for us and now having to wait to see whether it has caused harm. Will be phoning TT tomorrow to complain and ask for a full refund.

I always thought I’d love the prep machine and a lot of friends have used it prior and swore by it. However when coming to make the first bottle when baby went up to 4oz, I noticed that the machine was putting more than 4oz of water in, with and without the formula.I tried both to see if it was the formula taking it over but it does this without the formula added too. Is there a reason for this?Do I need to run it a few times before getting the correct amount?I’m devastated as I thought very highly of them before purchasing one myself.

Cold running tap water ‘too hot’ for machine

I am very disappointed as it works so well WHEN it works. I live in Townsville, North Queensland. It is usually not below 30 degrees here unless it is Winter. To add to the stress of a crying newborn for a first time mother like myself who has recently weened her baby off of the breast for the promised convenience of this formula machine, the Perfect Prep machine DOES NOT WORK if the water inside the tank is too warm. Apparently my cold running tap water is hotter than 28 degrees as stated by this machine, presenting an error that the tank is too hot and does not function. The water is cold to touch so I question the accuracy of this error. I add cold water from the fridge and same issue...water too cold. This is very frustrating for myself, my husband and my baby as even topping the tank up from the tap at night leaves us with a screaming baby and scrambling to cool boiled water from the kettle as the machine simply does not function if it thinks it is too hot. Thankfully I will not be relying on this product during summer as it would not work. The manual enclosed says it will not work below 3 degrees or above 28 degrees however I believe this needs to be stated in bold on the product box to avoid people buying this product and wasting their money in warmer climates (like most of Australia at some point).

Not customisable enough

Nearly a perfect machine however isn’t fully customisable for different sized bottles. The sizing starts at 120ml, increasing by 30ml increments (150,180,210) and so on up to 330ml. This isn’t great if you have formula that is 50ml water to a scoop of powder :( and when your baby is newborn and only having small bottles you can not make smaller than 120ml without having to stand by the machine and stop it manually or pour water out.Other than that it does what it says

I was recommended this from a friend. Honestly at first I thought oh no it's okay for the price I will just do it the old fashion way. So glad I didn't do that and I purchased this product. It is fantastic, the bottle is ready in literally 2 minutes and it's the perfect temperature. It has been so helpful not only in the middle of night feeds but as we are sleep training, it's great that the bottle can be made as my daughter wakes up and in 2 minutes so she doesn't become upset. The only one not so great thing is the minimum setting is 4ounces (120 mls) but we just tipped what water we didn't need. Was still a lifesaver and so worth buying this product.
