It’s a cute toy and my son likes it but there’s a few things to point out about this toy; the pillow, the arches and the piano. I noticed the pillows’ materials against the play mat makes it bit slippery. First time I used, the pillow slipped right out from under neath the baby. I’ve been using a blanket as buffer so the pillow doesn’t slip out while he’s on the mat. The arches are supposed to hold each other up but if you don’t use the Velcro piece to hold them together they tend to fall down; definitely dangerous if you have some the hanging toy on it. Lastly is the piano, if you leave it on for awhile the piano function gets a bit delayed but not a huge problem. I noticed one day and it done it since just something to keep in mind

The 4-in-1 Kickin’ Tunes Music and Language Discover Gym is easy to assemble, taking less than 10 minutes to set up and was able to be put together and I assembled for the grow with child options by a 10 year old with ease. There are options for the child to start using the 4-in-1 Kickin’ Tunes Music and Language Discover Gym from birth and to continue to have interest in it until later years, making this a good purchase if you want long term use. At birth, the child can use the mat without the small included boppy pillow to practice tummy time or to lay on the back to look at the cross bars above for toys. After a couple months old, the child would benefit from continued tummy time on the mat either with or without the small included boppy pillow, depending on the ... MoreThe 4-in-1 Kickin’ Tunes Music and Language Discover Gym is easy to assemble, taking less than 10 minutes to set up and was able to be put together and I assembled for the grow with child options by a 10 year old with ease. After a couple months old, the child would benefit from continued tummy time on the mat either with or without the small included boppy pillow, depending on the level of support needed by the child. Also at a couple months old, the child will start to kick their legs and will benefit from play on the back, looking at the toys above, and kicking at the piano. The piano itself is the products most interesting and intriguing option, and that is looked at as the product of interest as the child gets into later years. The piano has large and easy to push button, big enough for a small child foot to push each button individually. I love how when each button is pushed, a corresponding light flashes above on a caterpillar body (that can later be used as a handle to carry around the piano by an older child). The piano has new and different features not offered in other toys, like the push of a button making noises and then lights in a different area, using 3 languages, and working to influence music sounds, colors, numbers, animals, and animal sounds. The piano itself was enjoyed separate for my 5 year old as well as the baby. The piano can be positioned into a horizontal position for a child to sit and play rather than use feet to kick, and it also can be detached from the stand and carried and played with independently. While in the sitting position, the cross bars from play above would need to be detached because even a 6 month old child would be too tall and hit their head on the toys above. (With a single bar option as seen in other play gyms, this would not be the case, but with the bars covering the entire mat, it would be best to remove them for comfort and use of the child.)Comparing to another kick and play gym available, which we also own, this 4-in-1 Kickin’ Tunes Music and Language Discover Gym has more options for play to enhance development, has larger keys and is easier to push the buttons than the other model, and is build to grow with the child, even after the play mat is no longer needed. The areas of improvement that I came across were that the cross bars above for play appear to be flimsy and lean to one side, which might be inpacted by play and pulling on the toys either in a positive way to correct the leaning or negatively to have it lean further with more use. Another disadvantage is that the ease of moving the piano from the kicking position, to the sitting and playing position, to being off the stand for later years play is not just by a simple button, but requires the piano to be unscrewed, repositioned, and screwed back into the desired placement with each move. Overall, the benefits of the 4-in-1 Kickin’ Tunes Music and Language Discover Gym appear to beat out the competition, and the piano alone is a reason to purchase this play gym over other play gyms available.

I love this mat, or rather my kid does, so much so that I had to come write a review. I got it when my son was 2 months old and he was somewhat interested in the piano part. Over the last month and a half he has really developed a fascination with the piano and he's also started grabbing at the overhanging toys. At first I bought it because I wanted him to have more tummy time entertainment, but it's easily becoming a staple for us in all regards. He just stares at those lights on the piano. Once his legs start going, I love placing it close to his feet so he can kick the keys. The piano is also removable and I recently brought in on a road trip since he hates the car. It definitely helped when he was really upset during the travel. And it also was a great item to ... MoreI love this mat, or rather my kid does, so much so that I had to come write a review. Good product. Little one really enjoys kicking the piano and enjoys watching the lights on it when doing tummy time. From adult point of view wish it had more than a 2 song repertoire. Enjoys grabbing the attachments (now he can) and used to just enjoy watching them. You can move the attachments around as desired which is good. The arches do fall a bit now he is strong enough to grab the toys (and pull them off). V glad I purchased this and can see it being used for a long time yet
Have had this toy for about 8 months now. Bought mat for newborn/infant play and now that my little guy is 8 months, just have the piano set up like a keyboard so he can sit with his legs underneath and play. He has loved it even more at this stage. My biggest complaint and the reason I’m leaving this review, is that the piano/keyboard legs come loose and eventually unscrewed numerous times a day. Yes, it’s annoying to have to tighten the plastic screws repeatedly but it also makes the toy a little unsafe at this phase because baby likes to put his weight onto the piano while learning to stand and maneuver around it.
It is a nice play gym. A good assortment of dangling toys. The only thing I don’t like are the piano options. There are two selections for a baby big enough to hit the keys. There is one option for lights and music to just play. But the lights move way too fast for a very young baby. It is overwhelming. And the music is fast beat. Having options to slow down the pace of the lights and tempo of the music would give it five stars.
My 8 month old seems to be fine now after an ER visit.I like baby einstein, kids2, brand toys but this thing tried to kill him today. The cross bars are flexible like tent support bars. They are unders stress to stay up. He likes to chew on everything, as all babies and toddlers do. He was chewing on the plastic hook that hold the rod end to the mat. He chews on the plastic not the cloth. The flat plastic flexible rod inside the support bars tore through the fabric, letting go of the pressure needed to hold the bar up, it slid into his mouth and cut him somewhere in his throat. I screamed almost as loud as he did. Vomit with blood, scared me so much. I was two feet away when it happened right before my eyes. In that moment I felt like I was losing my little man. ... MoreMy 8 month old seems to be fine now after an ER visit.I like baby einstein, kids2, brand toys but this thing tried to kill him today. The cross bars are flexible like tent support bars. This is an excellent play mat gym for a growing newborn! I love everything about it except not having the option to turn off the lights but still play the music. When my newborn plays with it, it engages her so much that she gets drained and then falls asleep. But especially at night time, the lights are all blaring in her face. Other than that, we love it and she absolutely loves it! The quality is so nice! I put a waterproof mat over it just so it doesn't get stains on it, if anything does slip, I clean it up right away because it is way too nice to ruin it over time. It will definitely be well used but I want to keep it as nice as it came. The quality of this product is definitely one that can be passed down for generations and keep up if you keep it clean! But I ... MoreThis is an excellent play mat gym for a growing newborn! I love everything about it except not having the option to turn off the lights but still play the music. My baby loves the piano that comes with this gym - particularly on the discovery/learning option that says the related key’s number, animal and color. And I love how the piano can be used separately and modified to be used in a seated position as she grows. One small gripe I have with the piano is that a couple of the keys sound flat - so if you hit them on music mode when accompanying songs play, they aren’t in tune with the song. My daughter clearly doesn’t mind but I definitely notice it. However, we didn’t really find a need for the rest of the gym. I found the material a bit too slipper for my daughter to stay on tummy time well and the included toys on the gym weren’t super captivating to her. We use another play gym instead. The piano has 3 options - music, piano and educational. Problem is the educational mode is too cluttered. The additional languages are not needed and just confuses the child. They press 1 and sometimes it says 1, then yellow and then giraffe and then animal noises and then speaks another 2-3 languages. It should be 4 options not 3 and the option should be 1) piano 2) numbers and colours 3) animal noises and animal names. Get rid of the music and other languages. On top of this when the piano moves from kicking position to upright it has no rubber feet and is slippery. I have to hold the piano for him to play
