Baby Einstein - Glow & Discover Light Bar Activity Station

The Baby Einstein Glow & Discover Light Bar is great in many ways, but I'm reviewing so that I can mention what we like and don't like. First of all, the voice that this toy plays is extremely pleasant (it is a happy, clear, female voice in all 3 languages: English, French, and Spanish, and it is not abrasive or loud). The animal noises are adorable (like the frog goes ribbit and then you hear a springy boing boing effect that sounds like it is hopping away). The octopus sounds like bubbles in water, very cute. My baby liked spinning the wheel in the middle and liked to press each of the buttons. Things I wish were improved: It is a little expensive; we paid $20 for it and there are plenty of musical/light up toys for much less on the market. It is a large toy, heavy and seems durable, so maybe that is why it is more costly. It is too heavy for a baby to pick up. So one challenge is that it is hard to hold your baby and this toy at the same time. The other thing they really should fix on this toy is the fact that you can only light it up if you're using the volume at the same time. Since it is called a Light Bar, I truly thought we would have the option of using the lights on the toy while having a silent mode. I would like if this toy could be used just for lights sometimes, so that it could be a quiet time toy. This toy stimulates the mind and wakes the baby, gives her something to play with when she is in an alert mode. If they ever update this toy they should provide a way to turn off the volume entirely. Another weird thing is that the purple light doesn't look purple when it is pushed, it only looks purple when it is not lit. As soon as it is lit up, the purple elephant button turns RED even though the voice is saying "Purple!" so that is not really good if you're trying to teach little ones what purple is.

Fun toy for baby

This toy is well liked so far. Baby likes the classical music most but I look forward to using it more for the vocabulary when older. I love the three languages for animals and colors, and the music selection from the spinner is nice. Only negative is that the lights are quite bright. It's a little jarring if the room is dimly lit and the toy's lights come on.

Great interactive toy!

This is a super cute first toy for an infant or even a child with developmental delays. My 5th child has Down Syndrome, so sitting up is difficult due to his hypotonia. This is a great tummy time toy for him to interact with and he stays entertained for short periods of time. The sounds are better than most musical baby items and the overall design is very good. The only issue I have is the buttons can be a little bit difficult for him to push (maybe due to his hypotonia) so I would’ve liked a more responsive touch to “reward” him for his honest effort at trying to push them. The other thing is the stand is a bit flimsy, however, it hasn’t fallen over in the time we’ve had it, so I can’t really complain. Great toy

This is a really good toy, my daughter has just started to play with this and loves the bright colours. She particularly likes the animal noises as well. You can also switch this to different languages which is great, would be good if they could have added polish but spanish and french are good too. Its a little heavy so the rest underneath is good when your little one is sitting up with it. Overall would recommend

Love This - Best purchase

My baby LOVE this. He is 7 months old now, and we've used it about 1 month old for tummy time. At every stage he's loved it. It has kept him engaged during tummy time, and now it keeps him engaged while learning to sit. I used it the other day on a big road trip. I was sitting back with him and brought it out for him to play with and he'd get excited. It's definitley one of the most used purchases. However, as many people are pointing out, the only con is how it is made. The stickeres started to peel off pretty quickly and the label paint is already fading away. But all that doesn't bother me too much because it makes him happy and engaged. I love that there are also different languages, and different levels such as sounds, colors, animals. May hurt a little one

My little loves this toy but I went to put it away and the locking mechanism for the kick stand is faulty. It collapsed in my arms and pinched my forearm HARD. I had to get help to pry it open and get it off of me because the locking mechanism wouldn’t work. Now I’m worried about letting him play with it, I could just keep it closed but as he gets older he will likely figure out how to open it and I’ll have to get rid of it.

My son love this toy

This toy has really helped my little one with tummy time - the toy has bright lights and sounds that really helped my son be engaged and motivated to raise his head from the ground.I like that the toy is educational and engaging there is a variety of songs and a switch to switch between music notes, animals and colours. And of course it helped with tummy time! My son loves the animal noises the most. My son is pressing down on the buttons on his own at 2 months but I do wish they were a little easier to push down because he gets frustrated when it doesn’t go off (otherwise I would give it a 5 star)

Overall its not a bad toy

It’s a solid toy that could use a few adjustments. First off I wish that the buttons when on music mode would play a different song instead of just one musical ding. Kind of boring. Also the animals are stickers. I already have one coming off. Between baby drool and wiping it clean the stickers won’t last long. Disappointing. The stand is also flimsy and doesn’t stay up. It’s a pain to mess with it all the time. Overall not too bad. It has gotten thrown off the high chair multiple times landing on tile and it’s still going strong. So durability isn’t an issue.

Pretty good, baby not super interested.

I really like the idea of this toy. Not too loud or flashy. I don’t like how it will light up and make noise after about 30-60 seconds of not being used though. But my baby is 1 and I’ve been waiting for her to care about this for 6 months. All she cares about is the thing in the top center. She doesn’t push any other buttons on purpose. I love that it has music notes, colors and animals in three languages and I will keep for awhile to see if she changes her mind but so far it’s only okay. The stand NEVER stays up though. Very annoying.

So fun for floor time!

This thing is awesome! We have 3 month old twins and wanted something to add for tummy / floor play. We have the Lovevery play mat so we attached the little tent and put this inside. Every time we turn it on it lights up the tent and the babies love looking at all the different colored light flashes. It’s a pretty cute toy and I love that it can be laid flat or propped with the back at an angle.
