I haven't tested the waterproof element for actual trimming but rinsed it clean under the tap after use.The unit is replacing a multi head unit with about 47 things I've never used, I'm very impressed with the speed and ease of the cut. The looks are a matter of taste, it's a bit on the bling side, and I'm not convinced about the stability of the stand, even with the little suckers on the bottom - time will tell! Definitely a keeper though!

Battery life has improved as i’ve had a couple of these over the years, different models though. The head hugs the face better than a Philips product i tried a few years ago so i think you get an even cut all over your beard area if you keep it short. I think its better on the lowest settings, 0.4 to 1.4mm mm as it is difficult to catch some hairs as they grow longer. That said i have had my beard longer and have used the range of length settings and achieved good results. Its a very comfortable shaver to use and has the best look and feel to maintain my appearance. Very comfortable on skin no matter how hard you need to press which is important, especially under the chin.

No trouble at keeping stubble neat and tidy
19 February 2020

I have previously owned a babyliss stubble trimmer and the new BabylissMEN Super Stubble Trimmer offers a couple of improvements over the previous model I had.Out the box it comes fully charged to enable 70 minutes worth of use which is more than enough for me for a couple of weeks before I need to recharge. I tend to wet shave once a week but use a trimmer to keep stubble to a low length but also neat. This product was more that efficient in doing that. It offers the ability to trim and beards to a low of 0.4mm and high of 5 mm. I typically have been using the trimmer At 0.4 - 0.6mm but also when it comes to the wet shave day I detach the built in plastic guard comb to get that closer initial shave before using my razor. An improvement over my last trimmer is ... MoreI have previously owned a babyliss stubble trimmer and the new BabylissMEN Super Stubble Trimmer offers a couple of improvements over the previous model I had.Out the box it comes fully charged to enable 70 minutes worth of use which is more than enough for me for a couple of weeks before I need to recharge. I wish there was an option to change the head to get to difficult regions around the nose. I have yet to try how it copes with slightly longer facial hair but as mentioned I tend to like to keep my stubble to a low length and this is perfect for that.Overall pretty pleased with the trimmer.

Performance does not match design.

I have owned the first model and this model and neither of them performed anywhere near as good as they look. I have always hated razor designs and thought this is a great sleek product that's easy on the eye for travel and home. Thats where the positivity ends and the only reason I can give this product 3 stars. if you are using it on the lowest setting, which is without the guard, it functions perfectly well, but it defeats the point of it being a stubble or beard trimmer. Anything over 2mm guard setting and the cutting action is terrible. It simply doesn't function well, its patchy and no matter in which direction you pull it it just refuses to cut some hairs. between 2-4mm it is possible to get an okayish cut but it has literally taken me 45 minutes to achieve ... MoreI have owned the first model and this model and neither of them performed anywhere near as good as they look. Treated myself to this as an upgrade to my previous version of this model. This simply cannot achieve an even shave at anything over 0.8mm. With the older model, I would set to 1.4mm and maintain every few days. I can't do that now. This leaves an uneven cut and multiple attempts to rectify end up in you moving down a level, only to find the same issue. By the time I've achieved a shorter than wanted but at least semi even shave, my face is red with bumps from the many passes. I can't make sense of this as the previous model was perfect. Would not recommend

I also didn't have any issues with ingrowing hairs which has been a problem in the past.I did however come up against clogging, with a fairly thick beard growth and going directly to the lowest setting on the shaver hair did build up under the blade and was a bit tricky to get out using the running water at shower pressure though it wasn't a problem for the tap.Design wise the unit (and charging station) are really sleek and modern, heft in the hand is good as is grip even when wet. The buttons are easy to use without there being any danger of adjusting the shave height accidentally. When you do adjust the height a digital readout tells you exactly what you're getting which is cool.

Sharp and smart shaver

Upon receiving this shaver I was initially impressed about how solid it felt in terms of build quality, compared with shavers I have used before.I also like the fact that an adapter was included so that it could be plugged into a 3 pin socket (not just bathroom sockets). It came with the usual extras but no attachments for grade length which I initially was surprised about, after reading the instructions it was apparent that this function was built in.. this is a great feature! It allows you to change the grade automatically at the push of a button. This works by using the plus or minus buttons on the shaver which lift and lower the mechanism allowing a cut from 0.4mm up to 5mm.I first used it set to 1mm and found this very sharp and very easy to use.My only ... MoreUpon receiving this shaver I was initially impressed about how solid it felt in terms of build quality, compared with shavers I have used before.I also like the fact that an adapter was included so that it could be plugged into a 3 pin socket (not just bathroom sockets). It came with the usual extras but no attachments for grade length which I initially was surprised about, after reading the instructions it was apparent that this function was built in.. this is a great feature! But overall a really good razor.Tip, in order to use just the blade you just have to push the plastic guard up which will flip over backwards and clips into place. It has an electronic display which tells you what length the blade is set to and how many minutes you have left until it needs charging again which is really useful feature.

Though pricey, I think it's well worth the money for something used so frequently.Bought to replace an older iStubble, which I used wired. Though I would have been happy with a purely wired product, I'm pleased with the battery life and steadfast power delivery. Of course I've yet to see how it holds up over years of use.
