Haven't played it. I returned as soon as I realized the game required you to be always on-line. To be fair, it does say so on the box art - in almost microscopic print.

Online only, live service, microtransaction fueled, full priced game with a battle pass. If you buy this your family will disown you and your wife will file for divorce.

Not sure what happened here, I love Platinum games, but this definitely looks a bit Xbox 360! Will be waiting for reviews on this one!

Dying game service
13 September 2022

This game isn't as bad as people say that it is, the issue now is that service is ending as of next year. So after Februrary 2023 Babylon's fall won't be playable anymore. So if you're going to buy it to play it - do so quickly.

This game is pretty generic. I hope that they improve it with updates eventually. There is really nothing special about it.

This game is receiving an unnecessary amount of negativity.Long story short... it's okay and fun to play. It's visual style is polarizing, especially for character customization options and its brush stroke styled filter. It has a unique itemization at end game and more perks keep getting added with new content being released at a steady pace. The first seasonal battle pass is free, and includes only cosmetics. Rods and shields need some work. Some enhancements feel mandatory. All signs of an game early in its balancing.Gameplay loop is simple and linear, but has enough variation to keep you playing. I would easily given this game a higher rank if the population issues were sorted out and the NA presence with the developers were stronger.

Ok Game

I gave this a three star because I didn't feel like the storyline was as engaging as others on the market right now. If you are just looking for something different, this will do. Competent gameplay.

The Bare Minimum
28 March 2022

This game is the bare minimum for a live service, Platinum Games made a combat system that's very simple and easy to engage, but, at the same time no real depth to it. The filter they use for the graphics is horrendous.

The game is not perfect (few games are), but it's excellent. I can't put this game down! It's like Bayonetta, but with 4-Players, complete with all the dodging, slo-mo, shooting, and slashing. The combos and collecting make the game fun. Tons of armor and weapons, with cool crossover campaigns with Nier Automata. Also, the oil-painting design is gorgeous. It's the most appealing part of the game to me, and can't imagine it without it.
