Lightweight and cooks easily, with the addition of flavours of own choice. We served with dehy potato and veges and tasty tomato soup mixture. We prefer to buy on special as a little bit pricey usually, but convenience wins us over mostly.

We added a sachet of taco seasoning, A small sachet of tomato paste and served with Back Country rice and a luxury bag of tortilla chips and had for Christmas Day lunch on the Overland track. Truly delicious! Made heaps (was only just able to close the bag after my additions) and altogether It easily filled our hungry family of 4. Highly recommended!

This is a very cost effective meal base that with a bit of imagination can be a constant meal companion. I just paddled from Te Waewae Bay to Milford and in conjunction with seafood, I used the Beef Mince almost every night. However I don't agree that it is a five serve for active adults - I was getting three main meals out of one packet.

I wasn't overly encouraged by other reviewers, but I was pleasantly surprised. I made a giant , hearty spag bog for two with this mince and teamed with a chilli infused pasta sauce, it really was the gear. I will definitely stock up on these packs for future trips.
This Beef Mince is the most important bit of tucker I have in my camping kit.I always have multiple packets of Back Country Beef Mince along with Deb dehydrated mashed potato and Coles or Woolies brand dehydrated peas, add these together with continental season base packets (Beefy mince, Chilli con carne, Spag bog) and you can make some quite tasty meals. The shelf life is awesome as the recent batch from Snowys was best before August 2024, and the other ingredients mentioned also have long shelf lives, so stock up when its on special as you will never know when you might need it in these now uncertain times.ππ¦πΊππ¦πΊπ
Back country products have excelled in its freeze dried beef mince, I recently purchased another 10 packs that were on special, with an awesome shelf life I will always buy more when on special, as for taste any form of plain beef mince is bland, but once rehydrated add some onion or salt then fry up and I bet you couldn't tell the difference between fresh mince or dehydrated mince.Love it...πππ
I have used this product in the past and have always preferred it for preparing my own light weight meals for bushwalking. The highlight this time was the price. Very good price.
Well packaged, good shelf life and handy serving size. Its a great option to have on the shelf for unexpected events, or to take camping. As I have yet to taste it Iβve given it 4 stars so far.
I bought this during the first days of lock down not knowing what the future might bring because shopping can be an issue for me. Last night I made it into a delicious stew using heaps of vegetables and served it with reheated frozen mashed potato. One packet made 5 regular serves and I was pleasantly surprised with the results. It beat going to the shops to buy mince.
Not worth dehydrating fresh meat when this is available; great basis for meat dishes.
