A must get! This device is definitely an eye opener, and I no longer go out for drinks without it! I've know quite a few people who have had DUIs in the past year or so, and each of them have said that they felt totally fine when deciding to drive home. Those friends have since bought breathalyzers, and in trying them out, I found that I was also blowing over a 0.08 when I felt "fine." (Yikes!) The wisest decision for me was to buy a breathalyzer of my own. In trying out a few different kinds, the BACtrack Trace seemed to provide the most consistent readings and is very easy to use. (Be sure to wait at least 10 minutes after your last drink prior to using the device, however.) This particular device also comes with a case and mouthpieces. I can't believe I didn't get one of them sooner!

I recently had an Ignition Interlock device installed in my car, not by choice but certainly due to my own stupid decision making. Oh well, live and learn ! I have no intention of ever drinking and driving again. However, these Interlock devices can be hypersensitive, and I wanted the confidence of having a personal breathalyzer device to utilize as an extra layer of caution before blowing into the Interlock. The BACtrack Trace Professional does the job perfectly. If I had a couple drinks the previous night and I am unsure as to where my BAC is at, this device has been very dependable with letting me know. I will continue to use it even after my Interlock is removed from my car. Middle of the road price. Do not get anything too cheap. I love the size, utility, and (specified) accuracy. It's my only breathalyzer so it's hard to give a definitive "accuracy" but based on my understanding it seems in line with my expectations. It helps me calibrate my understanding of how drunk I can get after a night out and make smarter decisions given the context that I find myself in.Just be sure to follow the directions of "don't blow before 20 minutes after your last drink." Just for fun I blew right after a shot of fireball and got it up to 0.4!

Has worked perfectly so far, exactly as advertised, had it for a couple of months.I chose this model over others for its smaller size while still having specified accuracy, plus memory was a bonus.I bought 2 of them, keeping one for infrequent use. Then we can compare periodically to know when the heavily used one needs re-calibration (or not).
I am replacing a lost Andatech fuel cell breathalyser worth $100 with this model. This is a proper fuel cell breathalyser and its interface and look are nicer than my previous model. The only downsides are the build quality is not as good as the Andatech model, it feels much lighter and a bit more cheaply made. I also have some reservations on how to get this calibrated, instructions ask to call an American phone number to calibrate so this might be something I keep for a year and then buy another or upgrade. Overall this is an excellent and very accurate breathalyser and thats what matters. I need accurate police grade readings and I get this so overall Im happy.
Truly, I'd give it a 4.5 out of 5.Two things matter when buying a breathalyzer: reliability & validity. This device is incredibly reliable. Your BAC after 3 beers today (as shown on this device) will be the same virtually tomorrow, next week, a month from now, etc. (or until you need it recalibrated). If you have 3 beers on an empty stomach today, and 3 beers on a full stomach next time you drink, your BAC score will be higher for the time you drank on an empty stomach vs. the time you drank on a full stomach. But is it "valid"? Mostly...I've heard people who try breathalyzers (not necessarily this one) say, "wow, I didn't realize that 'X' amount of drinks would get my BAC so high!" Mostly...I've heard people who try breathalyzers (not necessarily this one) say, "wow, I didn't realize that 'X' amount of drinks would get my BAC so high!" They're shocked that the number of drinks they thought made them under the legal limit (0.08 here in my home state of California) actually put them over! I have had the opposite experience with the "BAC Track Trace Pro". I feel WAY too uncomfortable to drive with the level of inebriation I feel when I blow a .08. Truthfully, I don't feel comfortable driving if I blow anything above a .04 (as measured on this device). But, ultimately, once you try it out and adjust to what feels comfortable and safest for you (but at least below .08 please!), you've got a solid way to know whether you're truly "ok to drive".
I've tested this product and if the tests are taken appropriately, then the results will be appropriate. I was able to reduce my BAC by .03 (from a .146 to a .113) by drinking cold water immediately before taking the test. So, if you're testing yourself or someone else make sure they haven't got a cold mouth! If the test is taken correctly it is very accurate.
I have used a BACtrack for many years, just to double check my BAC before activities, including driving. I am nervous about driving with even a very low level BAC, so I try and wait until I am at zero. Recently, a few friends stopped by my place and they - and I - were at a Celebration of Life event before coming by. Then at my place the champaign was poured. I asked my friend who was driving how he was - he said he was fine. I told him I did not think so and got out my two current BACtracks. He was far from okay. So, one of the other four others, who did register as okay, drove them home. As my first friend's birthday was soon, I ordered him a BACtrack Trace as a gift.
Completely worth it. I upgraded from a velop wifi 5 mesh system that would give me 300-400 max wifi over 1gbs service. Now I get 800-900 with this syetem and super easy setup
perfect size and very accurate. easy to use. encourage anyone that likes to drink to have one of these. not just for making driving decisions more so to see how impairment and BAC levels are related and how you feel at various points. I also think it will surprise you how much BAC stays elevated the next day when you really get after it.customer service from BACtrack is hard to beat too. warranty is fair and they stand behind all aspects of their products and services.
