A hunk of junk. Don’t buy this!!!

What a hunk of junk. Sadly I had high hopes as we own lots of great Ryobi products… THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM!!!!The hose, attachments and head are so awkward and stiff and there is almost no suck. The sticking out wheels get caught on furniture and it’s hard to manoeuvre. The cord is way too short. To make it into a wet vac you have to remove the bag and filter which is a lot of work. I can’t be bothered.I wish I’d never bought this.

I bought this vacuum cleaner 12 months ago. The purpose was to suck mud out of 30 one metre deep holes. I needed to empty the holes from the groundwater for the Council pier hole inspection. If it died after that, then that was okay. It sucked up lots of mud, small rocks and water, even overfilling the bucket so that water came out the exit vent. It was very tough to handle the abuse. After cleaning all the holes, it was grinding a bit, so I gave it a waterblast everywhere. Then I left it to dry out for several weeks. It still works, a bit grindy, but what do you expect after all the mistreatment. It is now in retirement as a dry vacuum cleaner cleaning up the wood shaving from the building work. Right! I have had a work pro vacuum for many, many years, but it died. So, after extensive research, I decided on this vacuum. Why? The wet and dry function was a factor. The size was also important as it is about twice the capacity of its replacement. Similar size vacuums did not have the same warranty. They did not have a major company backing them. Stability was also a big factor. As we have a lot of foliage landing on our porch, it is a daily chore to vacuum/clean daily. This vacuum ticked all the boxes.

Excellent value for money
17 February 2023

Bought to replace a Henry for workshop and car cleaning use. Suction excellent and managed to clean lots of dog hair from my daughter's car seats. My only slightly negative comment would be that the fittings are a little on the flimsy side and the cord is quite short. However I kept the ancillary wand/fittings/carpet head from my dead vac and now I have the best of both worlds. At 1/5th the price of a new Henry. Haven't used the wet function yet so can't comment on that. The 30L 1500W model may well be worth the extra spend, I think it's got a lot more features as well. Can't comment on reliability yet as its pretty new, so 3 stars.

Great Sucker
9 December 2023

I needed a dust collection vacuum for my wood working shop and bought this based on the amount of 5 star reviews. I wished I bought this so much earlier, it's absolutely awesome has great power and collects 90% of the dust from my tablesaw. It also adapts to my sanders and routers to collect all the dust and wood shavings. So much easier to keep my workshop clean after working on my projects. Oh and it's great for the car and all outdoor areas. Best part is how it all packs together for storage in limited space.

Look no further (a review from a real DIYer).
7 October 2024

Owned a few other shop vacs, and for the price, this takes the cake by far. Setup is easy, looks good and has unreal suction. Purchased to attach it to the dust port on my Ryobi One Plus Detail Sander and sand down some plaster patching. Normally, everything is covered in dust after sanding with my old vac attached. But with this running, my floor was SPOTLESS. Couldnt believe it. If you're after a budget shop vac - look no further.

Really Sucks! (In a good way)
28 June 2024

I bought this because my dishwasher had standing, funky water in the bottom and I couldn’t figure out a hygienic way to get rid of it. This Ryobi really sucks! In a good way. I was surprised how quickly it removed the water. Then it turned out the drainage pipe was clogged. No problem, just stuck this device on the end and it completely sucked the pipe clean. Since then I’ve used it every time there’s a significant spill. When a washing machine pipe burst this thing came to the rescue. I’ll admit I’ve only used it as a wet vac but for that purpose it’s great.

Super Effective Vacuum
11 August 2024

I bought this to hook up to my saw but haven't had a chance to try on that. However, I have used it to vacuum out both our cars and I've got to say the carpets have not looked so clean since the cars were new. This does a much better job than any other vacuum I've used. It's also easily sucked up all the dust and bits around the workshop. My only criticism is that the house only swivels at the end close to the motor, this makes it awkward to easily get into some spots.

Superb on tiled floors
27 January 2024

I bought this because my Dyson is useless on tiles amd struggles with anything larger than a pea.I have to say I am not disappointed this machine is awesome it has so much power that it picks up everything. With a dog and cat in the house there is always fur and bits of dropped food (Dyson can't cope with all that) but this just sucks it.up and keeps on going. It gets right up to the edge and because it has a brush you can loosen stuck bits. It is easy to clean the brush head and it gets right into tight spaces or underneath furniture, works great on getting fur off the sofa. I would like to have a longer cord and a brush accessory for the corners and skirting board but for the price it's brilliant.

Works great, good suction & works with other tools
5 October 2024

The vacuum cleaner works great; instructions on setting it up arent the clearest but it goes together fairly simply. It works great; suction is powerful enough and did a brilliant job cleaning the car.Would be nice if the hose rotated a little more freely, but otherwise its great.Works well when attached to the Ryobi 18V circular saw too; keeps dust at a minimum when cutting, and it fits rights onto the socket on the saw.
