Amazing Improvement to My Trail Runs

Until recently, I never gave much thought to using expensive running socks. I got cheap but decent quality socks from Amazon and thought they were fine. I guess you get what you pay for. I ordered more pairs of the Blister Resist Quarter as well as various other models for my road running shoes. I'm a huge Balega fan now as these socks enhance the value of all my running shoes as well as providing a great running experience. I highly recommend the Blister Resist Quarter for trail running. Blister resistance is one thing; it's the comfort and performance that are so awesome.

HI,I ordered 6 pairs of Bolega blister prevent sock that are 20.00 a pair - extremely expensive. I've been buying this particular Balega sock for year. I've always worn large as my shoe size is women's 11 and men's 9.5. The Balegas are a whole size too big even though they are large. The quality is significantly less than previous pairs I have purchased . . . I can't turn the sock back in because I have worn them hoping they would shrink in the wash. So sad. A lot of money wasted.

I bought two pairs of these socks 5 years ago for mother/daughter backpacking trip (2 weeks) on the John Muir Trail. I've used them many more times as boot socks over the years. I've also hiked on the Tahoe Rim Trail (1 week), in Hawaii with Teva's in rainforest and lava rock areas, and up to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon (day hike) in 115 degree heat from the Colorado River after rafting in those same socks! I discovered Balega training for my first marathon as a 49-year old runner. I've never had a blister in Balega socks nor lost a toe nail (did lose a big toe nail after cycling from Montana through the Canadian Rockies in another brand). Best Socks I Own!
10 February 2023

Cant say enough about these socks. From the second you put them on, you know they’re different. Soft, light feel but plenty of cushion. They hug and support the foot just firmly enough in all the right places. I wear these for running and for playing tennis (in addition to being out and about) and they stay dry, comfortable and they are very durable. Love the quarter because it goes high enough to protect the ankles and Achilles from shoe abrasion. Good color selection and they resist odor quite well. Love these!!

Great fit, but they wear out fast compared to Hidden Comfort
23 January 2024

I've ordered 6 pairs of these socks over the past year and half, and every single pair has worn through in the heel in the same spot. That works out to maybe 30 times wearing each pair, and they only have a 1-year warranty.Meanwhile, I still have low cut Hidden Comfort socks from at least 6 years ago that have no holes (but have lost quite a bit of elasticity around the ankle). At $20/pair retail, these socks are way too expensive for such a short lifespan, despite being comfortable and fitting well.

Great socks!
5 November 2018

I bought these to wear in hot weather in general, and for a kayaking trip in particular. My feet were comfortable for the whole trip, which included 90°+ highs and icy-cold water getting in & out of the river. Once I got my feet out of the river and in to the kayak, the water drained out of my shoes (Merrell All Out Blaze Aero Sport) and out of these socks. Moments out of the water, the socks were dry (or at least dry enough), and my feet were perfectly happy. The padding is in all the right places, the fit is excellent, and I really liked wearing these socks.I have only one complaint: the weird colors and patterns. I know that different parts of the socks have different weaves, and that is a good thing, but why do so many sock manufacturers feel the need to make ... MoreI bought these to wear in hot weather in general, and for a kayaking trip in particular. I know that different parts of the socks have different weaves, and that is a good thing, but why do so many sock manufacturers feel the need to make socks in colors and patterns that a circus clown would reject as too outlandish? I don't need neon colors, funky patterns, or, worst of all, branding, on my socks. Solid colors would be just fine.Even if Balega can't change that, can they change the fiber content of the Blister Resist Crew Socks to match the fiber content of the Blister Resist Quarter Crew Socks? I would *love* to use a pair of Blister Resist socks for hiking, but need crew height for my boots. Since these Quarter Crew socks are very nearly perfect, I would like to get the same fiber content in a taller sock. How about it, Balega?

Great socks! Would definitely buy again!
14 May 2024

I bought these for a marathon that I was running that was on mixed surfaces with small rocks, etc. I just wanted something that fit well so no rocks would get into my socks/feet. They were fantastic. No blisters at all. They fit well and were so comfortable. Highly recommend.

New Manufacturers for Balega?!?
30 July 2024

Balegas are being made somewhere else or something. My last several pairs have some shoddy workmanship. The toe stitching, specifically, is a separate line of thread, with a gap between the materials. I'm pretty disappointed but need them for a trip this week. I doubt I'll mail order Balegas again and will be looking for a different brand of socks in the future. Sad, cause all my socks have been this brand. But they cheaped out!

Out of stock
17 September 2024

I ordered 12 pair of the blister resistant quarter socks but never got them. I ordered those 12 pair along with 6 pair of hidden comfort. When I received the hidden comfort, I had to call customer service to find out that because the blister resistant were not in stock they just canceled that part of the order. No notice, no email, left me high and dry right before a 2 week hiking trip.
