This is a great setup. I bought mine with the AMS system. I had another manufacturer's unit and I could never get any consistent results. 80% of the time I couldn't' even get it to stick to the build plate, even with magigoo. With the X-1 it was literally out of the box, assemble and print. I was printing out benchy within an hour. The few complaints I have on this unit are as follows:1) they have a terrible update system. Each time I have selected to update the machine, it gets a few minutes in and has an error which locks the machine up and makes it useless. I had to find previous software and download it onto a usb stick and reload directly on the unit with no internet. That gets the old software back online and the machine then works again.2) Ever since that ... MoreThis is a great setup. I bought mine with the AMS system. You simply hit resume and it prints out normally, but you have to pay attention because it will stop and sit waiting for you to choose an option. Those two things aside, it's an absolutely wonderful machine. I have run it nearly constantly for the couple months I've had it. I'm not the most techie person in the world, but this unit seems to be light years ahead of other players in this category. The only other thing I would point out to those who are like me and not overly educated in these type of products is that printing multicolor adds huge amounts of time to the total print time.........and it wastes tonnes of filament. A ghost I printed for halloween took a couple hours in single color. It took 8 hours in multicolor. It is best to print different pieces for different colors IMO.

Especially for a large print that will take a long time to finish? A metal textured aftermarket plate is better, or try a little maximum-hold hairspray on the build plate before putting it back in the printer to print the job.The AMS unit doesn’t like cardboard spools either and many Inland (Micro Center house brand) filament spools are cardboard. So there are adapter trim rings you can download and print out to snap on both sides of these to make them work better in it.

And the AMS system is very poorly designed, constant jams, unable to feed filament from a roll that is about 2/3 empty. Unless you want to spend $25/kg for their brand PLA which works flawlessly I'm sure. Not worth the $300 they charge for it.All in all, $1500 could get you something better

I’ve been printing for 3 years now and I bought this as my 8th printer becuse of the reviews about it and I wanted a hassle free printer for a change and the color change ams the way people have talked about it. Well to be honest I think Bambu pays people to give this printer such good reviews and talk it up. I took it home set it up and print fail after print fail warnings and issues with the machine. Could not even get a benchie to print or any pre loaded files after about 30 attempts the machine just stopped working and I ended up taking it back and exchanging it for another one thinking ok I just got a lemon it happens. Could not even get a benchie to print or any pre loaded files after about 30 attempts the machine just stopped working and I ended up taking it back and exchanging it for another one thinking ok I just got a lemon it happens. This one it did better I was getting some prints but the extruder kept clogging ok every print. After dealing with Bambu support and almost resounding the printer tgey finally said it must be a bad extruder and mailed me out a new one they sent me a new extruder ams I started getting full prints after 2 weeks. Then more issues starting piping up the filament gets stuck when retracting well Bambu knows about this issue and you can print a part. If it’s a known issue why is their tip of the line printer not shipped with a fix? You have to print out spools to use cardboard rolls becuse half of them don’t fit in the reusable rolls they give you so in. Losing I’ve spent 4 weeks Total fixing a brand new printer and it’s still not perfect. It’s also out dated at this point the extruder is a single ant duel gear the bed you need a glue stick for the camera is poor quality the lights are dem of course there’s a lot of after market upgrades you can do with some but it should be included to start. In closing I’d you want an honest option join the Facebook group and read what the new owners are posting about the same issues I’m having so I know it’s not just me.
Would you like to learn 3D printing by purchasing.a Creality Ender type printer. Just assemble something you only have a general, idea how it works, then calibrate and level that bed. This type of printing would require some signigant work and planning. Not so,with the Bambu, from day one. That’s all good but of course the down side is you need a down stroke of $1500. For the money you will be turning out models that make you look like and old master from the first print. Creality makes great products, but of you need to make great models now, the reach deep and make a buy that is absent buyers remorse. Lots of hype that should equal knee deep inanure, but Bambu labs doesn’t lie, there hype is just fact. After just. A year shipping product, Bambu is now the benchmark to which all aspire.o
I previously bought and used another model of printer. We'll call it a model 3 V2. (and those who know anything about 3D printer will know what that is) It was the most frustrating thing ever with constant spaghetti issues, failing about 9 of 10 attempts to print even with glue. As such I pretty much canned the idea of 3D printing. And then one day I saw an ad for this Bambu labs printer. Yes, it is pricey with the AMS on top. But this printer is the shizzizznit. From the minute I fired it up it has worked nearly flawlessly. And I have had it running almost constantly for several weeks. The only issues I had were related to tightening a few belt screws and lubricating the screws. I've had maybe 5 failed jobs out of 100. I couldn't get 5 successful jobs in a 100 with ... I couldn't get 5 successful jobs in a 100 with the last one I had. Anyone who says something degrading about this printer is either comparing it to a commercial unit or just isn't cut out for this stuff. The software alone is light years better for the average user. No more slicing and editing to get it right. The Bambu software handles the job itself. I do wish there was a little more in regards to optional printing methods but I wouldn't trade this for anything else. The AMS can at times be aggravating but for the most part once it is setup you can forget it and just print. If you can spring for this, you will not be disappointed.
I've had three different 3D printers in the past several years. This is the first printer that I would say is a true generational leap ahead of everything else, it seems to have really pushed the industry and a new direction and we are starting to see competing products starting to emerge but none of them seem to have the total package of the Bambu. This is as close to click to print as you can get right now. The Bambu P1P, P1S are a great alternative to the carbon, and if you are on a semi-budget those are the ones to get, but if you have the money I would spend the extra for the AWS, camera monitoring, etc.I have printed ABS, ASA, PTEG, PLA Silk, and never had an issue. I used to dread having to print models with loss of supports in the past, but with this printer the ports often just stay on the print bed when you remove the model, otherwise they are extremely easy to remove. This is giving me the opportunity to design and print much more complex 3D prints.Be aware that the inland filament sold at Microcenter often comes in a cardboard spools that do not play nice with the AWS so you will need to print spool adapters to put around the edge of the cardboard. These print quick (about 15 minutes each) and solve the problem. There are also some larger spools that will not fit with the lid on the AWS completely closed, there are third party printable mods (Hydra AWS) that remedy this problem.
Best printer I've owned. Extremely easy to use, very user friendly, the printer profiles in the online platform from other creators was a very nice surprise. There's just so much quality of life stuff this printer offers that you can't get for the same price elsewhere. The proprietary aspect may be a turnoff to some, but with how high quality the printer is and the reasonably priced replacement parts, you won't have to do much modding like with other open source models. Would absolutely recommend to anyone for a next printer if you're tired of spending 2 weeks fixing your old printer so it'll work for 2 more weeks. Oh, and it really is extremely fast. I went from an ender 3 to this and spent a week just watching the thing print just like Timmy's dad watched anything ... MoreBest printer I've owned. Since I bought this my entire life has been consumed by it and how fun and useful it is. It is expensive, but it’s also super easy for beginners, really fast at printing out of the box, and has a super cool filament swapping system with a built-in dry box. This is my first printer. diving into parametric modeling / 3D design and all the intricacies of printing such as slicing software, supports, filament types, etc has been super fun. I had zero experience making 3D mesh models in Blender or using CAD and parametric modeling before I got this thing, and now I’m kinda okay at it. I’m just a coder mostly. If you like making art or making practical things - this tool is pretty great. It’s also a never-ending quagmire-rabbithole-stockholm syndrome trap because I can’t ... If you like making art or making practical things - this tool is pretty great. It’s also a never-ending quagmire-rabbithole-stockholm syndrome trap because I can’t stop printing crap al day and all night…There are some maintenance requirements - treat it well and it will treat you well. The documentation could be improved, but the upside is that the software and firmware are being updated regularly with new features/fixes. Privacy-wise, there is a way to avoid contacting the bambu server while printing or streaming by using your LAN, but yeah I haven’t really tested that. Always clean the plate (after taking it off the bed… obviously!) with soap and water and a sponge - dry it off and then let any extra water dry off. Apply glue stick evenly to where you’re printing, and you’re good to go for PLA. In my experience, not cleaning the bed properly and not using glue stick tends to make models pop up off the bed and the print gets messed up.My gripes are that sometimes if a failure occurs, the machine isn’t quick to realize and it just smacks around with whatever’s in the way. This is why I stress bed adhesion - and monitor your print via the cam. Higher speeds are great but it can be noisier and your layer adhesion / quality will suffer a bit. This is of course if you don’t tune your flow rate, filament type, etc. i generally just stick with 100%, sometimes bumping up to sport (125%)
