Couldn't open. Oily mess. Binned.

Lid had a tear strip to open with a tiny tab. I couldn't tear it so gave to hubby to have a go. He didn't make any headway either, but managed to break the tab off. He then
tried to prise the entire lid off using a knife. This resulted in the separated liquid spilling down the container and all over the table. The remaining paste was difficult to stir,
and to be honest by the time I had cleaned up the oily mess I was too fed up anyway, so binned the lot. The manufacturer couldn't have tested the packaging before sending
out to market and alienating customers.

This is a large jar and if you need to make a lot of Tahini for a party, it's probably more cost-effective than buying ready-made. Lemons, garlic, salt, water and parsley have to
be added. It would be better to use the whole jar at once as the packaging lets this product down. The inner seal doesn?t seal, the jar is wide and difficult to hold, with a loose
and precarious lid. The product leaks easily and it is difficult to stir up the very thick paste and oil through the neck of the jar. Tastes quite good though!

This tahini comes in a barrel-shaped plastic container which holds an impressive 500g. The label gives very welcome instructions. Mix thoroughly, dilute with water, season
with garlic, salt, lemon juice and parsley. For a salad dressing, or a dip, I presume. Annoyingly, I have a severe intolerance to chick peas, so I am unable to eat hummus, which
I absolutely love. So I decided to take a risk and try the tahini with some aubergines. I fried a red onion, added chopped garlic and then my diced aubergines, and gently
cooked them on the hob, covered, until soft. Then I added a great big dollop of tahini and a large quantity of chopped coriander leaves and cooked them a little ... Show more

Worth buying this brand over others. Delicious. With a bit of a stir it works wonders. Love it.... Show more

Perfect tahini
17 June 2020
I hate trying to hack out sesame paste that's set like concrete at the bottom of the jar, so I love this runnier consistency. I didn't find it hard to stir, and I suspect it won't get the chance to settle at the bottom anyway! Delicious and great value. (If you're trying to use it straight from the jar as a spread and you're about to write it off as too runny, mix it as per the instructions on the label. It emulsifies into a mayonnaise-like cream. Works quite well with water on its own, too.... Show more

Proper tahini
9 June 2018
This is a Israeli brand - traditional Middle East style and the same style as you?d find from Lebanese or other middle eastern brands. Ignore the comments about it being oily - proper tahini often separates and you just need to stir it. It has a very good taste for making humus, and for making dressing for falafel or for drizzling directly over your food. Love it and pleased Ocado finally started selling proper tahini!... Show more

strange texture
27 February 2022
This looks and tastes like normal tahini, but I found the texture was very strange whenever I added other ingredients like water, lemon, or yogurt. It would get really thick and chunky, instead of more runny (which is what happens normally. I kept checking the ingredients to see if it truly was 100% because of the strange texture.... Show more

Velvety Condiment
18 November 2020
Baracke tahini is like liquid gold (following a brisk stir). The smooth consistency makes it so versatile. Beyond hummus, it's delicious drizzled on salad or rice. The taste is nutty, without any bitterness. The large container lasts a long time and it is easy to wipe clean. Try it!... Show more

Very good
21 March 2022
Really nice tahini paste. For previous reviewers, tahini does thicken up into very thick paste when you first start adding liquid. This is normal and if you are making tahini dip just carry on adding and mixing the oil, lemon, water, and as it absorbs the liquid the consistency will eventually turn into a creamy smooth liquid. Bit of salt, crushed fresh garlic and chopped parsley mixed in and it's a perfect dip.... Show more

Very nice but VERY thick!
20 October 2018
Nice tahini but different to others Ive bought previously in that the product seems to separate in the container. This means a very strong arm is needed to mix the product back together. Im not lacking in strength but it was a heck of a challenge to get it stirred together. That said, it gave the impression of being a more luxurious/authentic product.... Show more
