I have a 4.5 x 9 m concrete pool, after trialed twice of the robotic cleaner, I decided to return it to Bunnings (thanks for Bunnings generous return policy), based on the following assessment:1) only filtered large debris (down to 100 micron even with its fine filter, in comparison, a sand filter catches debris as small as 20 microns).2) too clumsy to use and store, esp. with its long tangle-prone cable.3) too heavy (> 10 kgs), my back/shoulder hurts.Pros: well-built, comes with wheeled-caddy, good price.Eventually I found the Baracuda Leaf Catcher ($50) at Bunnings a perfect replacement for the robot, it catches almost everything the robot was capable of, without the complications of those mentioned above, and it saves me $1250!That said, I still ... MoreI have a 4.5 x 9 m concrete pool, after trialed twice of the robotic cleaner, I decided to return it to Bunnings (thanks for Bunnings generous return policy), based on the following assessment:1) only filtered large debris (down to 100 micron even with its fine filter, in comparison, a sand filter catches debris as small as 20 microns).2) too clumsy to use and store, esp. with its long tangle-prone cable.3) too heavy (> 10 kgs), my back/shoulder hurts.Pros: well-built, comes with wheeled-caddy, good price.Eventually I found the Baracuda Leaf Catcher ($50) at Bunnings a perfect replacement for the robot, it catches almost everything the robot was capable of, without the complications of those mentioned above, and it saves me $1250!That said, I still believe Robot Cleaner is the future of pool cleaning, I would just have to wait when it becomes: 1) cable-free i.e. powered by a potent battery, 2) lighter, 3) better filtration, 4) less pricey.

Gets stuck on every corner it encounters, won’t even marginally climb a wall. Spent more than an hour trying to guide it around the pool, constantly rescuing it, taking to other in of the pool only to watch in frustration as it gets stuck again. Our pool is in ground fibreglass, rectangle in shape with radius corners , no excuse for it to get stuck, spend the extra and get a kreepy rawly not this cheap rubbish

I was reluctant to purchase this cleaner based on some of the reviews. My last cleaner was "the Pool Cleaner" which cost $800 at the time, lasted only 4 years before the gears wore down and was constantly choked on leaves. Reluctantly I purchased the Manta, not expecting to get a lot for my $349.Upon installation I regretted my decision because the cleaner got stuck in every corner of my pool, being an 8.5 m x 3.5 m rectangular pool. I then chose to follow the suggestions of a couple of other reviewers and make some adjustments.I turned down the bypass within my skimmer box so that all of the suction when through the cleaner, I moved the blue circular ring to the bottom of the first pipe segment and moved the white weight to 3/4 of the way up the first pipe ... MoreI was reluctant to purchase this cleaner based on some of the reviews. The cleaner has gone extremely well ever since.I live in Kalamunda so my pool always has leaves in it and sometimes it is full of leaves. The cleaner has not got stuck since, apart from on a stick, which is understandable. My only problem has been that it can suck more leaves up than the 90 degree bend into my skimmer box can handle, which sometimes needs clearing. If you find the cleaner isn't working for you take some time to adjust the three items I outlined above. I found that the location of the blue ring and level of suction needed tuning to allow the cleaner to climb the walls in tight corners so that it can get out and keep cleaning.Very happy and would buy this product again.

I'm in queensland and this is so not designed for Australian Conditions, the hose parts barely last a year before disintegrating. If you are prepared to spend about $200 per year on replacing the hose components that have become brittle or the diapragms cracking then dont buy. I had a cheap no name brand with a single component hose that performed better.Very disappointed .
I have bought 2 of these and they are honestly the quietest pool cleaner. Unfortunately I tend to leave it in the pool for weeks at a time and this does shorten the life span of the diaphragm and skirt. I made sure to remove the cleaner last winter, but on hooking it back up I can see it needs another new skirt. Parts are reasonably priced and I also bought the “leaf eater” and that thing is amazing! Overall it’s a good cleaner for the price, make sure you follow the instructions and remove the cleaner regularly to prolong its life.
I have had the Baracuda Manta for 2+ years.Good things:It doesn't get stuck (anymore). It cleans without choking on small seeds and leaves. The accessories and locking hose segments are good quality. The noise is not bad.Not so good things:It took a lot of fiddling to adjust suction, weight location and hose length for it to not get stuck.A little too high chlorine made the soft rubber parts really slimy and deteriorating.I already (1 year) had to replace diaphragm and skirt (runs 5 hours a day though)The rubber skirt is a little too soft and folds over at times.Altogether, compared to some cheaper ones I had before, it is worth having.
Bought this product from Bunnings to replace old zodiac cleaner that wasn't worth repairing. Installation guidelines were user friendly with everything you needed provided in box. Lock in hose connections great idea. Works as expected though did get stuck at step out a few times. Shortening hose length may stop this. Picking up leaves and dirt without a problem. Trying to register product with regards to warranty was another matter. Site won't load.
We bought this a few days ago after being without the previous Baracuda Genie for a couple of years. That one finally gave up after 8 or more years work and was not worth replacing the parts. Our older fibreglass pool is not salt chlorinated and needs work each season before using it. Did without an auto cleaner for a couple of years but struggling to get the pool clean this year using just a vaccuum and brush so decided to buy another. 2 days and a BIG improvement already. Has got stuck once or twice but seems to climb the walls and can easily see the difference where it cannot reach, need to buy one more hose section for our pool size.
I bought one of these last year. I have a cheaper ($99) one from Bunnings which lasted about 4 years. This one has lasted well, climbs the walls and steps. It did slow down, but this was because the diaphragm had a small tear in it. I replaced the diaphragm ($22.00) and it is off again, climbing the walls, running around the pool very quickly. Like everything else, you have to keep you pool filter and pump in good order, ensure the skimmer box is kept clean etc. for maximum capability. I am very happy with this product.
This unit cleaned okay. Not brilliant but not terrible. Had to return it though because it would suck in air, no matter how long or short the pipe was, it always somehow sucked in air. With it disconnected, the pump etc worked fine. Could not find the air leak so returned it.
