This is my favorite foundation ever! It has a buildable coverage and a little bit goes a long way. I just tap a small amount into the lid and swirl the brush and buff the product on my face. I want to emphasize again, a little bit goes a long way because loose powder can be messy, but also you do not want you face looking powdery. If you use a lot at first, the foundation just kind of sits on top of the skin. Start small and then add more to the places you want a little more coverage. I really love the texture and feel of this foundation. It's so lightweight that I forget I have anything on my face. When I was younger I would use thick, heavy full coverage foundation to cover my freckles because I was bullied for them. I have learned to love and embrace them and this foundation allows me to show them off while also covering redness and blemishes. This foundation is very luminous as well. I highly recommend this foundation!... Show more

I recieved this product complimentary from BzzAgent and BareMinerals for review purposes. The Original Loose Powder Foundation SPF 15 from bareMinerals was everything I never knew I needed. My skin is pretty dry so I always opt for liquid foundation with dewy finish, and never tried powder foundation before until now. The packaging is really cute, the opening could be closed by cover, and you can adjust it which is such an amazing design cause I always worry about spilt makeup whenever I am on the road. It is so lightweight, but provides such an amazing coverage all throughout the day without the need for touch up. You can create any look you want, from sheer/luminous to full coverage depending on your want. It’s formulated without any harmful chemicals, and vegan. ... Mineral cosmetics are much more harmless than ordinary decorative cosmetics. For example, if you have breakouts on your face and you apply BareMinerals, you can rest assured that your skin will not deteriorate and your pimples will not become larger due to the fact that they were covered with powder. The effect of powder can be so natural and natural that you can never go back to foundation, which leaves marks on everything you touch (the clothes you put on, the phone you put to your ear and cheek). You can and even should use powder in the summer. I don’t know how to explain this property of the powder, but in hot weather your face sweats less if you’re wearing BareMinerals. Beautiful natural, satin matte finish for oily/combo skin
Like many others, BareMinerals Original Loose Mineral Foundation was the first makeup I ever wore growing up since it was my mom’s favorite. I remember liking it, but I was 15 and definitely applied it incorrectly (not the swirl, tap, buff method). I would go through at least a jar every month — yikes! I ended up transitioning away from it because it was too expensive to purchase so frequently (not realizing I was just incorrectly applying it).Now that I am in my late 20s and have more of a combo skin type, I thought I would try BareMinerals mineral foundation again as I was on the hunt for new skin friendly makeup. Because of my skin type I decided to try the Matte formula. And wow. It’s lovely. Even better than I remember since I now know how to correctly apply it. Feels great on my skin, not heavy, and decently long lasting. I am able to achieve a beautiful natural result that looks like healthy skin. The more I use it and get comfortable with the method of application, the better it looks every time. I wear the shade Neutral Ivory 06, which is a good shade transitioning out of winter into spring. I will need a deeper shade for summer since I tend to get more tan then.In this photo I applied 2 to 3 light layers which gave me medium coverage. I then went in with their Loose Powder Concealer in the shade Summer Bisque, aka my new holy grail for blemishes. A little goes a long way. I also love the concealer with other foundations too, even liquid ones. I highly recommend their All Over Face Warmth and Mineral veil, too. Very pretty. And same rules apply — a little goes a long way.Since BareMinerals was connected to my adolescence, I have always had a soft spot in my heart for them. I’m so pleased that even in my adult age they don’t disappoint.... Show more

Holy grail foundation for oily skin!
This stuff has almost tricked me into thinking that I don't have oily skin. I wear this all day and never look or feel oily. I love the coverage - it's enough to mask my redness but it lets my freckles show through, kinda like a "my skin but much better" look. I've gotten way less breakouts since switching my foundation to this one, and my skin genuinely looks and feels better. I love it!!!It took me a few tries to get the application right. I don't use BM brush it says to use, just a normal (cheap) foundation brush and it is fine. I've also found that I don't need to "swirl" the product on the brush before putting it on - buffing it straight onto my face works better. A "dirty" brush is better for me too! It’s good but not amazing
I’ve been using a liquid foundation for years (my go to is Armani luminous silk) but after reading the reviews that it’s good for oily skin I decided to give it a try. So I’ll start with the positives: + It was easy to apply even though I’m not used to powder + It feels really nice on the skin, doesn’t feel heavy and not drying + It blended well and the coverage is right what I wanted, not too cakey and doesn’t look like a mask Now with the negatives: - I have a combo/ oily skin and enlarged pores on my nose, this foundation made them look even larger! I used my usual primer which always worked for me in the past but the powder applied on top accentuated the pores nevertheless - the colour recommended to me based on my regular foundation is way off! It recommended a colour 5 shades deeper than what I need. - It doesn’t really control the shine as some reviews have said, although it did a better job than a liquid foundation. Overall, a nice product if you have a normal skin without visible pores. Didn’t quite work for me.... Show more

Natural coverage
Bare Minerals was my go to for loose powder foundation. Then I was lured away by tinted moisturizers, air brush foundations, and Tik Tok finds. But I'm back. The hardest part was finding my shade because there are so many. but I got it on the first try. Has buildable coverage and even a light application evens my skin tone and slightly ruddy complexion. It feels light on my skin. I love the matte finish which helps with wrinkles and pores. I have dry skin and use a serum, moisturizer, and primer before applying the foundation. I can't get over the way it covers without settling into fine lines. I use Bare Minerals concealer on dark spots and under my eyes. The finish looks so natural that I can use it without any other makeup. The price isn't out of the range for ... MoreBare Minerals was my go to for loose powder foundation. No choice but to love it
I used to wear this foundation back in high school. Years later I was looking for a loose powder with some coverage, and I decided to give it another go. I'm so glad I did! You only need a very small amount for light-to-medium coverage, and it gives a beautifully smooth finish. Plus, mineral makeup and no fragrance makes it great for my sensitive skin. I do still put setting poweder over it because I'm very oily in my T zone. But it really stays on all day, and I don't think most people would need to set it with another powder. The only con is that it's nearly $40. I understand that it's a higher-end brand with nice, skin friendly formulas. And you get a good amount of product. But it does hurt in my pants pockets every time I need to buy another, haha.... The most UNDERRATED foundation!
I consider myself a foundation connoisseur. As I will always spend money on all and any and every foundation product. From highend to drugstore. Complexion is whats most important to me. I have purchased over 50 foundations and contiunally come back to BareMinerals! It is perfect for combo, oily, & dry (the original) skin types. You MUST know application. PLEASE, please take the time to learn the technique in applying. If this foundation looks powdery, you are doing it wrong. When applied with a dense, fluffy brush, in circular motions and with little product at a time. It melts into the skin. Looking like a second skin and flawless. You can keep it natural or build it up to a more full coverage look. By slowly building it up, it allows the minerals to melt. Nothing ... MoreI consider myself a foundation connoisseur. I also have freckles and it allows my freckles to show through instead of appearing greyish and "covered" which is what most liquids do. If you live in a hot climate, like I do (Arizona) even if you are dry skinned, I suggest getting the matte version. Throughout the day, your natural sweat and oils will help give it more of a natural finish! I have switched several people in my family to BareMinerals and once they learn it, they are OBSESSED as well. I hope this review helps someone looking! Thank you for carrying such a wonderful prodcut, Ulta!... Show more

This is the foundation I always dreamt of…
Years ago, when I was just old enough to start wearing makeup, I saw a commercial for Bare Minerals and my Mom bought me the “starter kit.” I stuck with the brand for years, and long after I would always think back nostalgically about the “best my face ever looked.” Things have finally come full circle, as I decided to try Bare Minerals again - once I learned matte is now an option. I am delighted to report it’s everything I hoped for. It stays in place all day, it looks natural, and it truly matte without caking. It’s worth the price. Don’t waste time on drugstore brands. I wear a combination of the loose powder and compact (both in the fairest shade - they are slightly different, and combined gives me the total control of my shade for all seasons.). Thank you, ...
