Bareminerals Barepro Performance Wear Powder Foundation - Maple 24.5

So I've used MATTE BARE ESCENTUALS-BAREMINERALS MATTE SPF 15 Foundation since high school. I love the light, buildible coverage. It didn't irritate my skin or break me out, it's green, and has SPF. So a few years ago I had a family event where I knew I was going to be photographed a lot and of course I had one of the worst cystic acne breakouts of my life all along my jaw (see review for to see how I cleared that up) anyway I wanted more coverage and turned to my trusty brand where I found this. Obviously no magic in the world is hiding I'm having a bad skin moment on camera, but it's as covered as I expected this foundation to be. It didn't irritate my skin or cause me to breakout. Now the cons, I use color 0.5 porcelain in the powder and another reason I love it is I have very pale skin and that is one of the few foundations light enough. The same color in this foundation was too dark for me. And it's not a liquid so I didn't know how to blend in another foundation to try and get my color. I feel that the fact that it was too dark probably exasperated the problem, but blending it was a nightmare! Takeaway, not my favorite from bareminerals. If you're looking for heavier coverage I would be interested to know if the liquid from of this foundation blends better. It's hard with COVID, but once we can go in stores easier I'd try this out before buying to make sure it's the right shade and blends ok. I wouldn't buy this again because it's too dark and they don't make it any lighter. I usually always follow back, but for some reason influenster stops us at 500 and I'm getting close to my limit. Even if I can no longer follow back, I read my followers posts. I like their posts, answer questions, and answer polls first.

This bare minerals powder foundation is one of the only parts of my makeup routine I know I can always depend on. Coverage is perfect for my uneven skin tone with rosacea, all while being lightweight and undetectable. As I get older, that becomes more important. I have never had an adverse reaction to the formula of this foundation and I have very sensitive skin. I am so thankful this is available.

Absolutely love this makeup! The coverage is a nice light medium. My face doesn’t feel cakey at all. It goes on really nice with either a brush or sponge. It is even and I feel like wears well throughout the day. Definitely worth the money! They have a large shade variety as well so easy to find a shade that looks natural.

If you’re thinking about buying this powder, just do it. I use this powder almost everyday, my makeup just doesn’t feel complete without it. I love it. The packaging itself has held up over the course of 2+ years. I’ll probably replace it ASAP. I have super dry skin, my skin doesn’t usually mesh with powders, which is why I’d avoid them all together. I prefer a brush (over a sponge) because I like being able to do both, stamping and buffing motions, to apply it. It feels super lightweight. I get a little carried away sometimes but no matter how much I apply, it doesn’t look caky. It gives the skin a super smooth, airbrushed effect. I rarely wear this powder on its own. I use it as more of a setting powder than an actual foundation. It layers well on top of foundation because it’s sooo lightweight.

I used to use the BarePro foundation, prior to the reformulation and thought I’d enjoy this powder. I tend to get shiny throughout the day and for some reason I would get shinier much quicker when I use this powder. The recommended shade is still a strange grey cast, even though it’s a “warm shade” in the line. Using a brush with this guaranteed fallout all over the place. It’s a strangely dry formula with brush. I’d recommend using the included makeup applicator or separate sponge. For some reason, this just didn’t hit the mark for me and I’ve tried powders that work better for my skin type and tone.

10/10 for oily skin in humidity

Perfect skin

I love this product. I don’t know how it’s getting it so right whilst other bases are so awful. I have a tendency towards oily skin but with the current weather and using tretinoin, my skin is dry and flaky. This works perfectly either way. It doesn’t flake, smear, gather in patches, disappear, sit in my pores. It just looks flawless all day. It does a nice job of mattifying but it’s not flat or dry. The only tricky but was finding the right shade.

I was weary at first of using a powder foundation as I can get very dry skin from powders but after reading reviews I thought I’d try it. I went for colour Fair 15 Neutral. Firstly, i highly recommend using a dampened sponge to apply this as it goes on so much smoother! Coverage is excellent, and I mean so so so good! And it lasts! I completely forgot I had it on and almost forgot to take it off before bed because it’s that lightweight and comfortable, doesn’t crack in the slightest. The only only downside is finding the right colour, there’s so many so I would suggest using bare minerals website to find the match with AI first which I didn’t do! This foundation is the best! I have used BareMinerals products for two decades, and loved their loose powder foundation in medium beige, but in the last few years I strayed to other foundations. I love makeup and trying the latest popular formulations, but just havent been as satisfied with foundations or staying power of other products. Im now in my 30s and have worn this foundation over the last few days. It layers BEAUTIFULLY, gives amazing coverage that is sleek, natural, and does that amazing thing that BE products do which is melt into your skin to become even more natural looking as your face warms it. I actually look forward to applying this in the morning because its like my one minute zen moment (while my kids laugh, holler, yelp or scream in the background!). The packaging is beautiful, classy and sleek, too, just like Ive come to expect from BE over the years. I love the staying power so much that Im thinking of getting a darker color to use as my contour/to wear as my skin tans in the coming months. I truly believe that you wont regret giving this foundation a try!
