Mineral Veil Finishing Powder SPF 25 - Original by bareMinerals for Women - 0.21 oz Powder

First up, the container is small enough to fit in my purse without me having to arrange things. This may seem like a small thing, but you drag around as much stuff as I do, it matters. On to the good stuff. This powder glides on easily and does NOT disturb the makeup I’ve already applied. It looks white, but that isn’t how it stays when you put it on your face. I contributed a slight glow to your look without being overt or cakey. I have used Bare Minerals for year and years and have always being pretty satisfied. They use primarily mineral based ingredients like mica and iron oxides. The only thing I would say is MOISTURIZE before you apply makeup if you are going to use the mineral veil, as it can dry out your skin, because of the high mineral content. It seems as I age my skin has either become more sensitive or the air around us has become full of toxins, period! Probably BOTH! I strive for NATURAL BEAUTY products for my skin when I can & hope they make a DIFFERENCE for me! I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. I was so excited to try the bareMinerals Original Mineral Veil loose setting powder as I use the foundation already. I used a big fluffy brush to apply and the powder went on seamlessly. No caking at all and did not settle into my fine lines. It gave my skin an airbrushed look. I have combination skin with an oily T-zone. The powder did not settle into the huge pores on my nose! Which is the #1 reason I don't like using setting powders. The bare Minerals Mineral Veil helped my foundation stay all day long without creasing. It looks natural like my own skin but better. Another added benefit is the SPF 25. Do not use this to set concealer under eyes!

I've been using the Original Mineral Veil for over a decade now, to set the concealer I use to cover my dark under eye circles. It worked beautifully, so imagine my shock when I opened my latest purchase and discovered what looked like glitter in the powder, and when I used it as usual, the glittery effect actually HIGHLIGHTED the dark circles. It's completely useless to me. You can see the shimmer in the photo I attached but it's even more shimmery in real life.I was irritated because I thought they had changed the product, but now I realize they created a new product, the Illuminating Mineral Veil, and they didn't bother to alter the top of the container so that it says "Illuminating". When I was first introduced to this, long ago, I used it as directed - swirl a small amount in the lid until it all disappears into the brush, tap away excess, buff onto the skin in a circular motion, and apply a quick sweep across the t-zone, around the cheeks or all over the face. I use powder differently now, so I figured I would try it my way first. Picking a decent amount of product up on a slightly damp beauty sponge, I would set the t-zone. Then, I would use that same sponge with a little less powder and set my under eyes. Did I go back and try their recommended method? No! Why? Because, my goodness, my method worked SO well for my skin! That extra layer of sun protection your skin needs

BzzAgent sent me this Bare MineralsMineral Veil setting powder. I’ve been a big Bare Minerals fan for a long time. As one of those people who tries to use all clean products, I really appreciate the bareMinerals brand. I always use a mineral based sunscreen on my bare skin, and then I apply my make up this setting powder is an exciting add on to sunscreen protection. It’s light, silky, and adds that extra sunscreen layer that I need. As a mature woman… I do not use it around my eyes, but it’s great on the tea zone. I highly recommend it, especially during the spring summer and fall months. clean products loves clean, make up lines… This is one of the best! I also use bareMinerals lip products, and their blush, which is great!

Way too shimmery

I'm so disappointed to say that I have very much dislike this powder. It's almost like a highlighter it's so shimmery. There's no blurring effect, I'm not sure how the other formulas blur, but this one for me emphasizes and exaggerates. There are little shimmer particles you can actually see on the face. It's just so shimmery. From far away or looks really great, but up close you can see every shimmer particle.I will still find a purpose for it, but it'll just be in high points of the face (where highlighter will go). Definitely not for the undereyes!I do have to say that I love the component it's in. I like that it twists closed, though if you get too much product out, it kind of just sits there awkwardly.
