I previously bought the Gen Nude eyeshadow regularly, and I would have said that is the best eyeshadow I have ever found. Colors were rich, and it was easy and quick to apply, always looked great. Not sure if it's discontinued, but bought the Mineralist eye shadow because seemed to be the only option now. I assumed it would be just as good quality, but super disappointed. Very dry, powdery, weak color when it applied. Honestly aggravating to apply, powder ends up everywhere and have to wash my cheeks off after applying. Takes far longer to clean up face after trying to apply, and left with weak color to the eyelid. A little better if you use primer first, but good quality eyeshadow should be able to stand alone without buying a separate product (maybe that's the ... This is by far the worst eye shadow I have ever used, ready to toss it. I'm switching to another brand hoping to find something more similar to the old Gen Nude. Wish they would bring that back, and confused why they changed it out for something so poor in quality. This product was reviewed on bareminerals.com

Great grater, unfortunately, being a product of a dystopian civilization it could be much better. (Vintage examples are outstanding; cast in metal rather than ubiquitous petro plastic)The design is compromised by materials; old fashioned versions could take a larger vegetable, therefore were more efficient and even if your 340 lb uncle (154.22kg) whaled on it going through a 20 lb sack of spuds it would never break. Lord knows the old coot tried! (Lord, our dog)Also, suction bases were never a great thing, a compromise as the legged ones can be trickier to store away.Vintage ones are larger compared to this pint sized plastic offering, which means the old ones sit over larger bowls, (or trough) - great if you're catering to a hungry family or BBQ, or your mob ... ('healthy' appetites... erm.)We also used a modern electric grater attachment, came with the appliance, but they are more cumbersome, harder to clean and store, heavier as well.Americans of the 1950's, weren't silly like we are today. How much more (actual production cost) would it be to upscale this item, make this out of alloy steel? An extra $4.00 per unit? An upscaled, quality item would sell for triple this ones price, so still profit to be made, anyone listening?

Everything I am using on my eyes are bareMinerals. The eye brush bM Dramatic Definer - applying wet makes the colors darker, its a great brush to use wet. The other bM brush Essential Blender is used dry. I still have all my bM brushes, sadly many are discontinued and I wish they would bring many of the past brushes back, I'm creative like a portrait painter so every brush has its purpose, I used the bM WARMTH palette first and on the upper part of the eye I used the bM ULTRANATURAL palette. The bM MAXIMIST liquid eyeliner is very matte, it is not a deep black, its not easy to control the liner, it takes patience and practice.I hope this helps! Best wishes everyone!

The formulation of these powders feels very luxurious, it's easy to blend them. The colors are pretty but unfortunately not very nice on me personally. Either that or I haven't figured out color theory well enough to make it work for me.When I wear the powders it feels drying to my eyes, and the older I get (I'm 38) the more I realize I don't like when little bits of glitter get into my eye and it's not worth it. Even tho they look so pretty.Everyone says there's not a lot of color pay off- what I realized is that you need to "break the seal" by disrupting the top coat of the powders. I did this by using by brushes a little bit more vigorously than I normally would- NOT A LOT more vigorously... just a little. This made the powder bunch up and exposed the softer ... This made the powder bunch up and exposed the softer powder underneath and it's been fine ever since.I just wish I knew why it was irritating to my eyes so I could keep it but I think I'll need to return. Darn. It truly does feel so soft and velvety to apply.
I really don’t understand all the bad reviews on this eyeshadow palette. I love the Rosewood palette ! There is barely any falloff, although it does not transfer well on a brush, I apply it with my fingers. It’s the perfect subtle hue for a casual look, just enough pigment to show but without being too intense. I have really fair skin so maybe that need to be factored in… I would probably recommend a good eye shadow primer to make sure it pops through. I really love how the rose shades contrats with my green eyes. Overall I’m really pleased with my purchase and it is becoming my new favorite casual daily palette. Maybe it’s not in the range of professional palette but for a casual make up enthusiast who tries to buy cruelty free and clean at Sephora as much as ... I have light green and brown hazel eyes. I love the way this palette looks on my eyes, especially the mahogany and green. I have very sensitive eyes and cannot tolerate most eye makeup. I really appreciate that this product excludes many ingredients that cause irritation. This palette is subtle, you really cannot contour with these colors. This eyeshadow is more suited for a natural looking makeup. The colors are lighter when applied. Overall, I really like this palette.
I absolutely hate having to purchase 6 colors just to get the one I want! I've been a full-on bareMinerals user for over 15 years. I even go to the trouble of mixing two foundation shades to get the right color for me because I love bareMinerals so much! Lately though, I've been disappointed in the lack of availability and choices in the original loose powder eye colors (and the blush colors for that matter). I reluctantly purchased these eye color palettes to replace some colors I can't get in the loose powder and I hate it! In addition, most of the lighter shades in particular in these color palettes take FOREVER to get enough on my eyes to even barely show up! The loose powder is so much easier to 1) blend with other colors, 2) purchase only the colors I will use ... MoreI absolutely hate having to purchase 6 colors just to get the one I want! The loose powder is so much easier to 1) blend with other colors, 2) purchase only the colors I will use and 3) shake excess off of my brush without it going to waste because it goes right back in to the container, not all over the whole palette. I'm super aggravated that I purchased three of these palettes without realizing what a disappointment they are. Please just bring back the loose powder choices! I'd pay almost the same price for ONE good quality color of my choice as I paid for these palettes.
I purchased 3 different pallets to try. They are not even close to the previous pallet choices! Colors aren’t as vibrant and less colors in the pallet. I’m actually very disappointed, the shadow pallets were tbe last thing from bare minerals I was clinging to since you have taken away all of my go to products! First ready foundation, then fine liner, then spray brush cleaner now the shadows are trash….FAIL. I now use Youngblood foundation and a fine eyeliner from hourglass and it has a brush cleaning spray. Guess I’ll start the search for eyeshadow now and have no reason to come back to bareminerals! Leslie would die!
These eyeshadows are so pretty and buttery soft. They lay on the lid so nice, I've mixed and matched I wore them alone together and as a liner. I'm thrilled. I was pretty much to the point where I wasn't wearing much eyeshadow anymore, I'm older and I love frost shadows but they don't love me anymore and don't look as good as they use to. I can now say I'm comfortable wearing frosts again. These are not in your face high glitter, they are soft and beautiful . I honesty don't have anything bad to say about them. I have ordered another set and looking forward to getting it and wearing them also. I will probably end up getting every one of these Palette's they are so pretty. Love the way they wear. Very happy with my purchase.
Don’t go by the incentivized reviews. Listen to the people that actually made the mistake of buying these Mineralist palettes.I can’t believe they replaced the amazing Gen Nude formula for this Mineralist garbage. The shadows are hard and chalky, and there’s NO pigment. They don’t blend at all, it just looks like a blurred mess. They disappear very quickly. I’ve been wearing eyeshadow for decades and have a collection of over 40 bare minerals loose eyeshadows plus most of the Gen Nude palettes; believe me when I say stay away from these Mineralist palettes, they’re awful. Hopefully they come to their senses and bring back Gen Nude’s formula. I will never understand why Bare Minerals always seems to phase out great products only to replace them with junk. I won’t ...
