Barilla Pasta Sauce Basilco 400g

After eating this, I couldn't tell there was actual meat in the pasta. It tastes good and it's easy to prepare. Just remove or peel back the lid past the sauce tray. If you try to do it after, it can get messy. Small detail but it will save you the mess afterwards. The pasta has a nice chew, the tomato sauce is slightly sweet and tangy. There's meat in there but it's not that noticeable to me. Portion size is decent. You have might have to dress it up with toppings and add some bread to it. For a quick lunch, it's a great option. For dinner, you might need to eat 2 of these.

I was a bit hesitant to order 4 jars at a time because of the fear of breakage during transport, but as you can see from the photos, these are packaged well to prevent breakage. I almost exclusively use jarred "Organic" Marinara sauce as a starter for my spaghetti sauce because organic tomatoes grow much more slowly than those with chemicals/fertilizer added to the soil, the organic sauce has a much deeper, and in my opinion, a much better flavor. There are two "Traditional" and two "Tomato Basil" styles in this order, and I ended up mixing 1/2 of one jar with 1/2 of another and preferred that to either sauce on its own -- I highly recommend doing this! I am very, very satisfied with the Barilla sauces and wouldn't hesitate to order them again. The value (4 for $8) was in line with supermarkets and I feel are the best overall available on Amazon! Again, I can give a solid 5 stars for taste, quality, condition, and price.

It doesn't get much better than this! Seems like a nice combination since they also make pasta. You've got an entire meal within a shelf space between the pasta sauce made by the same brand! I think this is unlikely jyst a coincidence. The sauce is the perfect consistency and full of flavor. Especially the meat sauce. If you've never been to Italy, thus jyst might be as close as it gets without being there. In addition, this delicious meat sauce does in fact actually stick/adhere to the pasta that is made by the same company. I don't think such a thing is just a coincidence, it's genius, well designed and meant to ensure you have that perfect Italian meal experience. Cannot go wrong with this one. I recommend trying all flavors.

It tasted fresh the hints of basil popped in every bite without over powering the dish. I not only tried it as a sauce on a cauliflower crusted pizza but as the sauce for lasagna! I went out and personally purchase 2 other jars to have enough but I used it in a regular gluten free pasta lasagna, a zucchini lasagna a sweet potato lasagna. I was feeling like a chef that day and wanted to have options for our whole family. I also like looking at the ingredient list and knowing what I am feeding my family is wholesome in nutrients this passed the test. So I’d definitely recommend this tomato sauce to anyone in the market for trying it out!

Since I love Barilla pasta, I decided to try Barilla pasta sauce. Barilla pasta sauces retail around $3 for 24 oz jar. Barilla Traditional sauce is your classic tomato sauce with rich oregano and basil flavor. I love that Barilla Traditional contains no added sugar. I also love that Barilla Traditional is made with virgin olive oil.

This is very tasty sauce! It has a nice clean tomato flavor, with a hint of floral basil notes, and just a whisper of garlic.My one critique of this sauce is, it's too salty for my taste. I really wish they'd make a version with about 75% less salt, since ~100% of kitchens have salt it would be extremely easy for people to add if they want it. So, what I do is, dilute the sauce with unsalted tomato puree, about 1 part Barilla to 3 parts unsalted tomato puree mixed with some pasta water. Conversely, I can simply cut the sauce with lots of unsalted pasta water, add garlic and finish cooking my unsalted pasta in the thinned out sauce. But my salt limit is reached if I eat just a cup of the Barilla sauce, so again, I wish it didn't have so much salt!If I was cooking ... MoreThis is very tasty sauce!
