Battery Charger NOCO GENIUS5EU 75 W

I'm on paternity leave and the truck died after about a week so decided to get this and definitely worth it. At first I placed it on let it sit overnight the bar did not budge so i right it couldn't do it. But a I saw it gave enough juice for some lights to flicker like it was trying, so I figured the accessories in the truck. After market radio and what not was draining it to quickly that it wasn't able to charge it quick enough. So I unplugged the cable and charged the battery separately, came back the next day and it was fully charged. Put the cables back on and started the truck up no problem. Left charger on the battery with power cable to the truck back on, came back a week later and checked with a multimeter. So in short it's a great maintainer in my opinion but if it seems like it's not charging try it with the battery not attached to vehicle and if that doesn't work than I'd try the repair or boost feature and having a multimeter would help you understand what's going on to make sure the battery is actually charging.

A great product

A little fiddly to use so read the instructions first, but I was trying to charge 12V lead acid and LiPo batteries as well as 6V batteries so a few buttons to press. That said it works very well. Managed to revive 3 batteries from nearly dead. You may have to use the Force mode 2-3 times to slowly bring the battery to life. It seems there is a timeout after a couple of hours and it will give up and flag the battery as faulty. Just try a couple more times.

Excellent product. I am impressed.

As far as car chargers and battery boosts go, I haven’t seen products as versatile as Noco. I have a car booster from them which is super light weight and can be carried around in your bag so it doesn’t die out sitting in the cold car during -40C weather. It’s awesome.5. There is an option clearly mentioned in the instructions that you can leave this plugged in forever to your car and it won’t damage the car battery.Overall I highly recommend this product and with my good experience with two Noco products so far, I recommend making Noco your choice for car battery boost or charging/maintenance needs.

Good little overpriced charger.

I bought this about a month ago to keep my 6KVA generator battery charged when not in use. Not sure if the battery was on its way out or the charger caused it to fail but now the battery is completely dead and wont accept a charge.This charger is compact and pretty overpriced for what it does. It only comes with Alligator clips. If you prefer to hardwire a connection to your battery and simply plug it in as needed, you need to buy the additional cable, at a pretty hefty price. The connector on the cable is proprietary so unless you cut it off and fit something more generic, you are stuck with buying the overpriced NOCO accessories.It comes with a simple mounting bracket if you want to mount it on a wall, and it is easily removed from the bracket. Great chargers

The 5 is my second one. I thought my first had gone bad but, it was the battery (Almost) years old in Tucson AZ. Hot summers and 40 degree temp changes in a winter day.That is hard on any battery.Now that I have two. I am using the first as my battery tender on my Harley Davidson.Gonna put a new battery in my RamCharger now that I know the old one hopped a ride on the dead train.What I like:The compact size. I grew up with battery chargers that were the size of a battery or bigger.The disconnects. So I can leave the clamps hooked up and disconnect the charger.The number and types of batteries it can charge. Pretty much any battery on the rack today. External plug in's sound cool but I am not cutting my truck to install that.I would like to get a second set of battery leads. I would remove the clamps and wire it to my trucks battery. Noco makes great products. This product is no exception to that statement. I’ve been using this charger to maintain a portable ammo can LiFePO4 battery I built that is responsible for running our 12v fridge in our truck bed. On our last camping trip and last minute reason for purchase of this unit, I ran the charger off the inverter in our truck bed to recharge the battery as the fridge was running it down throughout the day while off-roading. In the days of using Battery tenders, they included an SAE to battery clamp and SAE to ring terminal adapter for a permanent installation. The Noco only includes the clamp harness, but the clamps can be removed with a phillips head screwdriver to be used with a permanent installation using ring terminals. For some reason, the only Noco accessory stocked in store is a DC 12v socket extension that doesn’t even work with this product. I would have purchased another permanent battery installation harness and cut the ring terminals off of that one rather than the harness that attached to the clamps. Doesn’t make a lot of sense!

I bought a mild hybrid Volvo and found that the battery deteriorated until it failed to start the car, despite doing similar mileage to previously. Volvo's handbook states, "To keep the starter battery in good condition, at least 15 minutes of driving a week is recommended...". I do a low mileage but considerably more than that, despite which the battery failed.The battery was ruined and the Volvo main dealer supplied a new one. That also started to fail so I bought the Genius 5, which I ran in a refurb mode 2 or 3 times, and then used it to trickle charge the battery whenever the car was parked up at home. Volvo UK Technical Dept advice is, 'If covering less than 8000 miles a year or unused for more than a week we'd advise using a trickle charger. 15 mins a week is not enough.'So, overall, I'm pleased with the Genius 5 but disappointed that I had to buy it and have the faff of disconnecting it every time I use the car and reconnecting it when I arrive home.

Top product in the product category for 5A, just make sure it fits your needs ... alternate products from NOCO will better certain scenarios better:*motorcycle or other smaller size battery usually need a 1A* large batteries and/or a faster charge of auto/marine/truck might need the a 10A*multiple batteries to charge at once can use other models

I researched the SCA web site first and settled on buying the NOCO 5A.When I visited the store there were none in stock disappointingly. I chose an alternative costing $120 on special however I found out on check out that it only carried 12 months warranty.I expressed my preference for NOCO and the team member surprised me by advising they have them in stock, but they don’t put them out on the display shelves.He kindly went and got me one and, for an extra $10 i got the 3 year warranty with NOCO.I’m super happy with this product.
