Battlefield 4 - Free China Rising Expansion Pack has been my most anticipated game of the year, watching many videos and images in the build-up to its release, expecting things that no other online multiplayer game can provide. Receiving the game on release day was going to be a big day for me, awaiting its arrival in the post couldn't come any quicker and when it did my anticipation turned into excitement. PC already on, the discs were whizzed into the disc driver immediately and installation on it's way, slowly but surely. After playing the BETA I was not impressed by the look and feel of the game, but I didn't take too much into account being a BETA, however after a few rounds in the full release I realised that is exactly how the game is to be, maybe I will get used to it this way but to me the game looks almost cartoon-y and graphically worse off than its former releases. The game doesn't feel like it did, which is understandably being a new release but it should feel improved, not the opposite. I can't put my finger on exactly how to explain it, but the control, effects and motions of the player don't feel right, like it's changed too much. On the plus side there are some awesome features. I particularly like the new game mode obliteration, and features like driving tanks through almost anything that stands in their way, boats going underwater when the big waves come over, players being able to swim underwater to safety and some of the new weaponry of which I still have loads to unlock. The new maps are very impressive with more still to come. Overall the game is still in its early days and despite some disappointment I still typically have the BF addiction, the game keeps me coming back for more. Hopefully and more than likely things will be ironed out and new updates regularly applied with added cheat protection. I am certainly looking forward to new map releases.

Best FPS EVER. Former Die Hard Call of Duty Player
24 December 2013

Let me first off state that I have been playing First Person Shooter Games for the last 12 years starting back in the days of Golden Eye, then Halo 1, 2, 3, Reach, and 4. I then switched to Call of Duty from Modern Warfare 2, Black OPs, Modern Warfare 3, to Black Ops 2. I have always been mainly an online player and skipped the campaigns. I prefer real life competition. I consider myself to be a top gamer and try to always come in first place every game I play. In Black OPS 2 I was rated a Master ranking for Team Death match. Currently I own the Xbox 360, PS3 and the new Xbox One. Currently I own the Xbox 360, PS3 and the new Xbox One. Now to Battlefield 4 When this game was first released, there were many bugs made the game feel incomplete and would hold back your complete satisfaction with the game. It is now about a month later and most of the bugs are gone. Some of the bugs were not being able to save the campaign mode at all. I was two hours deep into the campaign already and tried to save thinking I could come back later. But to my surprise and dismay I had to start from the beginning again. I was not a happy “camper”. But its fixed now. Weapons and Guns - each weapon is much more realistic in this game than Call of Duties. You have to account for bullet drop from long distances, fire rate, leading the target more when they are moving, and there is a lot more customization of each weapon with different attachments and barrels. Although there isn't kill streaks that give you a super power up like a chopper, pred drone, UAV, and care package, ect the game includes different starting packages that are completely customizable. I play as a medic so I can revive people when they die within five seconds plus dish out health packets to damaged teammates. There is also a ammo "supplies" class and a "recon" and "engineer class. Each have their own pros that they bring to the table. Have a team together online and they can work together with the different classes very well. Overall I think the game has much more versatility, action, more enjoyable than Call of Duty could hope to be. I heard many of my friends who tried to get me to play Battlefield over Call of Duty say this to me. Call of Duty is for kids Battlefield is for adults. I couldn’t agree more after playing it. Buy this game, you will not regret it.

Love the game, hate the cheaters. Pros: Great graphics Great audio Awesome selection of weapons to use in game Totally fun with the right players Cons: Too many cheaters that spot you instantly no matter where you appear on the map, they aim instantly and kill you, but when you shoot at them it's like your using a water pistol. Weapons don't finish what you initiated once you get shot once in a shootout, it's like your doomed no matter what, the grenade you throw at the last hope drops hopelessly right in front of you instead of finishing the path you intended, guns don't kill the enemy once you get shot, the best you normally get no matter where you hit them is them coming down to 30% life. You get stuck climbing over small steps and obstacles that you shouldn't, you end up frustrated because often you end of dying over the glitch. Not enough places to climb and shoot, small barriers with a stepped foundation often don't allow you to get up there. Not enough protection in the "spawn" areas, somehow the other teams sometimes know right where you spawn and they literally control the game by shooting you only seconds later right where you spawn. Very frustrating. Out of bounds areas, very annoying!!! There should be a barrier that you just don't enter without going dark and sounding alarms and killing you if you fail to reenter. Some of the out of bounds area looks very cool and would allow better game play, but it's off limits. In my opinion, some of the maps could of been larger to accommodate 20 players which is the max capacity. Health!!! I love battlefield because it was authentic to real war and the graphics were true to old battlefields in Germany or whatever. However, what really ruins the game is different health for different players. You work your way up. Bad idea in my opinion, no matter how great the opposing team is, if everyone has the same health meter and stamina, including physical running capabilities, etc... The game would be manageable even for new players. Same thing with parachuting off buildings, how can you compete with that? All in all, I love the online play, however, since nobody seems to monitor and control cheating, it was a great idea at best with too many people who ruin it for the kids, teenagers, old folks and everyone else that just wants a "fair" match.

Flag capturing on a massive scale in both these unforgettable gems was treasured by a large forum community. Sadly, support from the makers dried up, not before they were sacrificed to the xbox and ps4 to be consolized with BF3/4 and then forgotten.

Have a LAN party, this game is fun to play, but it was rushed.

I love the Battlefield franchise, I use to hate it because it made no sense when I first played it on the PS2 back in the early 2000's. Fast forward a few years later and I reluctantly downloaded a demo of Battlefield Bad Company on the PS3 and after months of urging from my friends I played it, I was instantly hooked! After playing a few more games from the franchise on the consoles, I decided to come back to PC gaming and in doing so I found that their were Battlefield games that I have not played. So I ventured into Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142, BF2 is an amazing game and the mods are endless, BF2142 is a good game as well, but I felt they might have rushed it a bit. I felt this might have been intended for an expansion for BF2, but at the last minute they made it a stand alone title. The navigation of the menus are buggy at best, theirs is not a lot of customization or options like BF2 and the home screen were you have to log in before you can play online or offline really kills this title because the servers don't work anymore, thankfully I found a work around for this. My other issue was the fact that you were given sub par maps and only 5 or 6, BF2 had a pretty decent size map selection right off bat. I tried to play online however the servers at Game Spy were discontinued indefinitely which left me disappointed that I couldn't and will never get to try out the famous online Titan mode or ever level up to better weapons and equipment because these features are not available for offline/single player mode. I think EA should have made these features and modes available online and offline as well, if they wanted to separate your achievements then so be it, but it would have given this game more life down the road, such as games like the Call of Duty series. The pros are the single player game plays some what like online, the weapons and vehicles are unique, I heard their are mods for the single player game like custom maps, etc..., but I couldn't get them to work, I'll keep researching. Another cool feature is local play and private servers, so if you have few friends who like to get together and have a LAN party, your golden. This game had a lot of potential, but it needs some polishing up, I only hope that EA does a remake of this game as an expansion using the Frost Bite 3 or 4 engine or adds the features from this game with improvements to Star Wars Battle Front 3.

Just frustrating

I have had a rough time with Battlefield 4 having purchased it at launch. Since then I have run into numerous bugs and annoyances that prevent me and my brothers from enjoying the game. What I had played of the campaign was very fun (the first 3 levels). The graphics were amazing and truly felt like next gen, and I enjoyed the characters and story telling of the first few levels. But after having my entire progress into the campaign wiped at least three times due to corrupted saves I just don't think I can be bothered to try again. As of now I am not sure if this bug has been fixed but it has happened to me and my brothers enough to stop us from playing it. We could just be unlucky as I hear others can finish the campaign no problem, but I've just had enough. ... MoreI have had a rough time with Battlefield 4 having purchased it at launch. We could just be unlucky as I hear others can finish the campaign no problem, but I've just had enough. Initially the multiplayer looked and felt like it was going to be a blast and I enjoyed it for a few days. I guarantee that playing it with a group of friends would be great fun. It doesn't seem like the developers intended for a solo multiplayer experience (although certainly not impossible), as team communication is a very important aspect of the multiplayer. It did get annoying as I played more of it though. Nothing feels worse than dying then watching your opponent run off with 0 health shown over and over again, or my enemies having seemingly overpowered weapons compared to my peashooters. I was never a big fan of Battlefield/Call of Duty style multiplayer anyway, but when I start a game that for some reason has no sound other than the occasional smidgen of music (probably a bug) and enemy snipers everywhere killing me on spawn, that's when it's time to stop playing. Overall this game isn't for me. I enjoyed what little I could play of the campaign but wasn't too fond of the multiplayer after a while. This was the first Battlefield I have played though, so if you are a fan of Battlefield then you should see what others say. Just make sure you do your research before purchase so you don't regret it in the future.

bought the PC version of the game, digital, but this is completely not downloadable, even when it shows as ready to download in the digital library. Customer service completely useless. After spending 2 hours online, they say the game is not refundable because it's a downloadable version. I said to the guy: then make sure you have the technical competency, which they don't have. Totally ridiculous. I am serious: I have made a resolution to NEVER BUY from bestbuy. They should seriously change their name to worstbuy. and I am going to short their stock, because companies like this will NOT last, especially if you compare their customer service to say Amazon. Totally NOT ACCEPTABLE.

War is Raw
3 April 2018

We forget that men and women fought bravely to defend this nation from the beginning of this nation's history to recent wars. If you want to witness the a bloody conflict, then play this game. Yes, it is a game but it shows the rawness and the coldness of the steel of guns and machines that made WW1 one of the bloodiest and deadliest. Over 16 million people died in this war that according to the game, accomplished nothing. What it did accomplish was rivers turning red with blood, ocean shore with crimson mass that looked as if it was natural. There is nothing natural in watching water red.
