I had been thicking about getting one of these for way too long and finally got around to it, and it was good to go around my bikes and check them all, confirming that two of the bikes chains were half worn.

Hook one end into your chain and let the other end rest on it's corresponding link, your chain wear is measured by how far the tool drops into the chain. Simple! Used and stored correctly this tool should last a lifetime. Why 4 stars and not five? Some tools measure .5% wear, that would be nice, The markings could be a little clearer, and the finish a little smoother, but this is just looking for minor imperfections. Overall, A good tool to have in your toolbox.
How many times to you hear someone ask “ how do I know when to change my chain”? Well this is the answer, no second guessing yourself!Easy to use and, I hope accurate”. No more excuses letting your wear so far that you destroy your cassette, maybe your chain rings and maybe much more.Every time I relube I take a few seconds to check the wear. No way I’ll be caught by surprise - now.Looks to be durable and is easy to use. I’m hoping this will save me money in the long run as I expect that I won’t be buying a new cassette with every new chain.
