Beats Solo Pro Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones (Grey)

Let’s just call this a review of my experience in general with Beats over-the-head headphones. Also, full disclosure, I received these free from someone who won them at a convention. They are a promotional item, I think they are an earlier generation to promote next generation? Or something like that? Anyway, I am hard on my stuff. I busted a bathroom sink by accident, I busted the table on Thanksgiving- with the dinner on it! But these headphones, they were precious and they were tough. Headphones use to last, maybe, a couple weeks with me…but these…They numbed the outside world, and they made what you listened to sounds like a theatre. The sound wonderful (sorry, novice’s point of view, but it was great to me). The noise cancellation was so on par with what I imagined. But more so, the beauty was in that they lasted over ten years. Good headphones.

Almost everything is great…almost.

These headphones have a lot of positives but one big negative which is really annoying. The sound quality is great (I’m not an audiophile, but I do know the difference between good and bad sound quality) so that’s a huge pro. The controls are easy to understand and use and the feature where they turn on and connect automatically when you unfold them is sweet. The noise cancellation feature is also really good. They are really durable as well. The case you get is pretty standard but it does it’s job. The matte finish is also really sweet. You’re probably wondering why these are 4 stars instead of 5. I also wear glasses so if you wear glasses as well prepare for worse discomfort. These basically push your glasses against your head and it’s not comfortable in the slightest which really stinks because besides that I have no other problems with these headphones. Don’t get me wrong though the discomfort isn’t unbearable. I still wear them almost every day. Just know that these won’t have nearly the comfort level of over ear headphones. With the discomfort level where it is I just don’t think these are worth $300.

Be cautious - Item is out dated and battery arrived dead

Bought this now-discontinued item and when it arrived, the batteries were 100% depleted, which is not good practice for lithium batteries to be stored for extended periods of time. After a full charge, unit paired to my iOs/Apple TV without issue, but the battery life is far from what is advertised. It went from 100% - 88% within 10 minutes of use.I tried to add AppleCare to the unit as a precaution, but was unable to do so. When I called Apple, their records showed it was now out of warranty. These headphones are amazing! I would for sure recommend this product, the sound quality is great really clear sound, the noise canceling is great too. I love the on ear controls it makes the headphones very easy to use and makes them more practical for doing things around the house there is no need to figure out which button does what and then try to find the correct button while you’re trying to cook or bake, just touch the top bottom once to increase volume, tap once down for decrease, so simple, even changing to the next song is easy to do, click up twice to go forward a song, click three times to go back a song, it’s the easiest system I’ve had on any headphones, then the button for noise canceling is on the bottom of the opposite side push once for noise canceling and push again to turn it ... MoreI would for sure recommend this product, the sound quality is great really clear sound, the noise canceling is great too. The only thing I would change about them is I would have over ear instead of on ear, because after a while my ears get uncomfortable, but I can usually wear them a couple hours at a time, after that you should really give your ears a break anyway lol. I also love that all you have to do is close them to turn them off, I think that is a great feature because I usually forget to turn my headsets off and I always close my headphones when I take them off so that feature is a battery saver for me for sure. I absolutely love these headphones.

Major upgrade

Compared to the Beats Studio3 these pack an amazing ammount of power and sound into that iconic silhouette. Apple brings their transparency mode technology to these headphones, and it shows. Crystal clear awareness across the board and the noise cancellation is absolutely stunning. Only complain is the materials of the construction do tend to cause creeking as it gets handled but none the less they are some fine sounding, stylish headphones. Also love the ease of use and compatibility with both IOS and Android. Battery life is fantastic, and the usbc play and charge functionality is so useful. Highly recommend for the Gym or just lifestyle.

Nice headphones, but do they meet the hype?

The Beats Solo Pros are solid headphones, however the sound isn't quite worth the hype I've heard about them. I was able to snag this pair on Black Friday for $50 dollars less than retail, which to be honest, I'm kind of glad I did. The headphones feel solid, appear to be of good construction and have a decent weight to them unlike some other brands I've purchased in the past which can feel flimsy or cheap. This model will only work via Bluetooth however and lack the 3.5mm jack which comes on the Solo 3 headphones, which is also kind of disappointing for being the "Pro" version. These phones do however have ANC (active noise canceling) which the Solo 3 does not. The ANC works pretty well, but don't expect complete silence with it on. I purchased this item about fifteen months ago on sale for the New Years. First things first, I really liked the easy connectivity to my Apple Devices. I really loved the sound and the bass and the general ease of usability. That said, it was a little annoying that the device does not have an off switch and has to be folded. I might have a slightly larger head but the clamp force of the band can be quite uncomfortable for some. It certainly is for me sometimes and I do have to take a break after an hour or so. My biggest problem was reliability - after fourteen months, the device developed a bug where the noise cancelling made a constant drone and it would no longer pair to any of my devices. I looked up the cost of replacement and out of warranty service and it was going to be more than what I paid for the device on sale. That said, for about 140 dollars on sale, this wasn't the worst thing in the world for over a year of use.

These create the most peaceful sound space

These create a safe aural space for people who need that, like myself who are autistic. The first time I put them on it created the most beautiful silent space. They do that better than any head phones I've tried.The sad side is they are not physically as robust as I would like. They have an annoying habit of discharging the battery once in awhile. The procedure to reboot them is very precise, follow the instructions!!!I had my first pair for almost a year before they terminally pooched. User error, my water bottle leaked in my bag and "they don't like that", as the electronics expert said.But they were sooo wonderful, I ended up buying a second pair after a month.
