Significant difference to home made. One of my signature dishes that I cook for my family is lasagna. We all love it and I love feeding people with this comforting Italian dish. So, unfortunately I just don’t think you can beat homemade. The flavour just isn’t there. however, my kids and husband said this was definitely ok ans nothing wrong with it, it’s just obviously not homemade and lacks in flavour and consistency if you had to compare but if it was on sale and I wanted a night off I would purchase again.

Does the job in a pinch. These are fairly easy to find alongside the chilled ready made meals in store. Fairly expensive by weight though definitely the cheapest on the shelf if you're in a dinner rush pinch with hungry mouths to feed this will do the trick. I'm not a massive fan of the packaging though I'm unsure as to how it could be improved without using plastic and I do love that you can pull the tray out of the plastic case and just pop it straight in the oven with little fuss. I find the filling on these lasagna's skew towards being very onion heavy which I'm not a fan of as they retain some of their bite instead of melting into the sauce. The meat itself is nothing special but it's fairly tasty but there isn't much of it. The white sauce on top doesn't have ... MoreDoes the job in a pinch. The white sauce on top doesn't have much taste going for it so I top it with some extra cheese and breadcrumbs and chuck it back in for another five minutes and it's a winner for the kids. I would love for heartier sauce for this product, some red wine and perhaps a more balanced base of onion, celery and carrot. I do still prefer to make my own and will most likely continue to.

Yum! I was gifted one of these from a friend. I'm abit of a Lasagne snob & normally only eat my own but I am the only one in our house that eats Lasagne so I am going to portion it up to freeze for myself for quick lunches or dinners. I had a slice with some air fried potato gems tonight. For a premade Lasagne it is surprisingly quite delicious! Plenty of sauce, plenty of meat, plenty of layers & plenty of bechamel. I just warmed the slice in the microwave however next time I am going to try it in the air fryer.

Family divided. This sample definitely got the family divided. Teens and hubby loved it, I have some suggestions for improvement. Absolutely awful. I usually make my own lasagne but on occasions when I am time poor I will purchase the large frozen Sara Lee lasagne. I had made my mind up that we were having lasagne for tea but I couldn't find my preferred choice at the supermarket I brought this one as it kind of looked the same but that's where it all ended. It lacked in flavour, was runny, hardly had any mince and it just looked like a multi layered pasta dish with a red sauce between the layers. The pasta itself was nice. I was so disappointed with this and I didn't finish eating it. To make things worse it repeated on me all the next day, and it was something I really wanted to forget that I had eaten Made in Australia from at least 80% Australian ingredients (I noted that beef was only ... To make things worse it repeated on me all the next day, and it was something I really wanted to forget that I had eaten Made in Australia from at least 80% Australian ingredients (I noted that beef was only 9%). Goodluck finding any. The lasagne was in a foil tray that could be popped into the oven. The foil tray was further protected by being placed into a study plastic tray which I found too good to through out, so I have kept it and have already reused it. I found I had to cook it longer than the stated 45 minutes. It is a fresh product so only has a limited used by date (mine was 8/2/23). There is a caution stating: Great care has been taken to remove all bones and bone fragments, however some may remain. This scares me as the 9% beef is the only animal product listed. I will not be purchasing this again and I really do not recommend it to anyone. This is nowhere near a good example of a non homemade lasagne.
I did not enjoy this. Lasagne is something I am quite passionate about - I love making it and eating it! This is not something I would normally buy but I appreciate the opportunity to give it a go. To begin with the plastic film, even though it over hung was quite hard to peel off - a little thing but I ended up having to get a knife to cut it!After I cooked it as per the instructions it did not look overly appealing - there was a very thick layer of béchamel sauce and when serving this contributed to it being quite sloppy overall. The sauce was gluggy with very little meat and seemed to have a strong celery flavour that stayed in my mouth as quite a strong after taste for a long time after eating. The pasta was thick and bland. Overall I did not enjoy this product ... MoreI did not enjoy this. Lasagne is something I am quite passionate about - I love making it and eating it! Yummy. This is not a sample. But decided to have a lazy dinner. Hubby went to pick up a lasagne that was on special. I spotted this at the end of the fridge. It was the same price as the other one. But this was bigger. Cost $13. 30. It comes in a strong plastic tray giving the foil tray support. Has a plastic film cover, which was easy to remove. Instructions says to heat up oven done ✅, take cover of ✅, take out of plastic tray ✅, place on a baking tray ✅, and place in oven for 45 minutes on 180°✅. I had some tomatoes and Spring onions to be used up. So I sliced tomatoes and onions and placed on top halfway through. Very happy with the results. Both hubby and I enjoyed. Disappointing. I thought I'd try this as a relatively cheap and easy dinner. Worst mistake ever. It was terrible. I wasn't expecting it to be anywhere near as good as homemade but I thought it would be edible. It completely lacks flavour. There is nothing "rich and traditional " about the sauce and there's not enough of it. Australian beef... no where to be seen. Creamy bechamel sauce was like kids glue and again, no flavour. The pasta itself was ok but it needed to be cooked longer than stated on the pack. Honestly the best part was the melted cheese that I added. I will never again purchase this product and if it's ever offered as a bunch freebie I will give it a miss. Don't waste your money.
Loads of onion. Can I say $12. 50 for the size of the lasagna is excellent and would easily with a side dish of salad and chips serve 6 adults for a main meal. Unfortunately the lasagna did not deliver on taste. We found an overwhelming undertone of onion, be it under cooked onion or onion powder it takes over the flavour. The pasta sheets are a plenty and the bechamel sauce lacking in flavour as well as being on the runny side of consistency, I prefer it thicker. The dish was lacking that cheesy smell and taste. The beef was there but needs to be increased in volume and the tomato needed seasoning. Overall we would not purchase again, although it takes hubby a whole day to bake from scratch I much prefer the home made one full of meat, cheese and flavour. Sorry ... MoreLoads of onion. Disappointing. Based on appearance, this product was well priced at $12. 50 (on sale) compared to a rival brand at $17. A great size, handy for unexpected guests. Heating instructions were easy to read and follow; many products use fine print that is not readable without a magnifying glass; 45 minutes at 190 plenty of time to relax. Unfortunately, that's where the pleasure ended; had I paid for the meal I would have been bitterly disappointed the taste did not match the tantalising description "Australian beef mince in a rich, traditional bolognese sauce made from scratch with sautéed vegetables and garlic layered between sheets of al dente durum wheat semolina pasta topped with a creamy béchamel sauce". The rich traditional bolognese sauce tasted like a paste; one with very little meat and little flavour. It was predominately pasta sheets with bechamel sauce. At first, I wondered if the meat in the bolognese sauce had fallen toward the middle of the piece, but the difference was minimal. On appearance and price, I would buy however after eating disappointment and poor quality would stop any further purchasing, the product did not live up to the description or anticipated flavours.
