This amplifier is amazing, great build quality, small footprint, good convection cooling, great power and drives my speakers beautifully, plenty of power for bass transients and great soundstage, very impressive for the price and would thoroughly recommend this amplifier.

It's no wonder the A 800 is a best seller. It outperforms an Alesis A500 I had years ago. Detail, dynamics, stereo imaging the best amp I have owned to date on general music playback and studio monitoring. How much? !!!!!!!! And not "burned in" Yet! Very pleased indeed.

Very clean sound. With the amp turned to full and a muted source only the faintest hum can be heard from the speakers. As a class D amp I have no issues running this turned down and you won’t do your back in lifting it.Very happy to recommend to anyone wanting an amp to either drive studio monitors or a small PA pair. Not sure they would cope as a touring rig but for installed or light mobile, no problems at all.
I purchased this product to expand my surround sound system to eleven channels by connecting it to the preout connections on my AV receiver. It has worked perfectly since I can use it to drive my front left and right speakers which do the most work in this type of system and it has allowed me to re purpose the existing amplifiers in my AV receiver to drive an additional pair of speakers.I also like the led meters which can give an indication of where most of the sound track is being generated. All in all a good purchase for me for not too much money.
I use this amplifier to power my set of Yamaha speakers from my Behringer mixer and it does the job perfectly. It is very straight forward to use and robust. From time to time, you can hear a little tick, especially in the beginning when powering up but nothing really disturbing. Very quiet and no buzzing. For the price it's really good value for money.
I purchased two of these amps to use in my home theater 6 months ago. They have been used on an almost daily basis without fail. I have been very pleased with their performance. My only criticism is that there is not a power trigger to control the power through automation. Some may consider that to be outside the scope of its purpose. Easy enough to work around. Would recommend and purchase again.
I had to try this amp out at the great price. I've been researching some class D options, and was willing to find out what this type of pro audio amp could do in a home audio application. As I indicated in my review title, I really wanted this amp to sound great. And for the most part, it sounds quite solid, has great balance across all frequencies, and had no problem powering a pair of Q Acoustics tower speakers. In the end, its performance was harsh, perhaps in a subtle way, but harsh none the less. Harsh, over time, really means fatiguing. I've often wondered about when other reviewers talk about class D, when they refer to the sound of the amplifier being "dry". I think I may have discovered first hand what they're referring to here with this amp. It's ... MoreI had to try this amp out at the great price. I've often wondered about when other reviewers talk about class D, when they refer to the sound of the amplifier being "dry". I think I may have discovered first hand what they're referring to here with this amp. It's analytical to the point of sounding as if you're listening to the device the music is being played on, rather than the music itself. It's really kind of a strange experience, to like an amplifier for its resolving capability, and then to hate it for the very same reason. In the end, it wasn't the right fit for my home application. I haven't given up on class D completely, but I have been effectively steered back in the direction of class A/B a little more decisively. I still clicked on the option of recommending this product, but it might take some softening of the signal path by using "warmer" electronics (tube preamps), as some have recommended, to reduce the harshness. Perhaps for pro audio usage, which is obviously for what this amp is truly intended, powering less than resolving monitors, this may be an incredible amplifier.
I was using 2 A500’s on my Martin Logan electrostatic Speakers. One for each in mono. Now I’m using one A800 in stereo and it sounds Great. It’s clearer with more detail then it had. I was thinking about getting a second one but I don’t think it’s necessary. Excellent signal to noise ratio with smooth highs and crisp detailed sound at all frequencies. The amp runs cool even when played loud for a long time. The fact is it’s a Huge improvement over the A500. Couldn't be happier.
