I'm using these C-2's as drum overheads in a home studio environment. They are configured without having the "cut/attenuation" switch in either of those positions. Many reviews I read seemed to indicate these would be of low sound quality. I didn't find this to be true. There is no harshness or boominess. The response is very flat and reproduces the sound of the kit faithfully. They are perfect for my application. A great price/performance purchase!

A stereo matched pair condenser mic's at a budget price! Surely not. Well it's true and bang for buck this product scores pretty well. Possibly not the most quiet mic's with respect to noise floor and the fact that (for some delicate sound sources) you may have to push the mic gains higher than what you normally care to do. However the mic's perform really well and fairly transparently especially when considering the price. Tone and level matching for a budget matched pair is good. Ideal for general stereo ambient pickup of solo instruments and ensembles and of course you could press them into action individually for spot mic applications. Package includes two mic clips, stereo mounting bar, windshields and plastic carry/storage case. Entry level mic's punching ... MoreA stereo matched pair condenser mic's at a budget price! For under $100 *and* in a matched pair, these mics fall into the must have / why not category. They're currently my WFH workhorse, set up on a stand in an x-y pattern for two seating position video calls, and with a little work on the signal chain with a compressor and gate these are shockingly transparent even compared to large condenser or more expensive mics I've used in the past. For instrumentation they're perfectly acceptable on guitar and piano work, especially for those new to recording physical instruments and looking for an entry level mic set to get them started. As a bonus, it comes in a hardshell case with a mounting bar and windshields.

I bought a pair of C-2s to use in my home studio for recording my acoustic guitar, and really satisfied with their performance. I cut down a regular mic stand so these could be mounted under my studio desk where I sit to play. They come with a double-mic holder that fits any mic stand. You can see in the pic how I fit them in. I point one directly at the sound-hole and the other at mid-neck, and record them on stereo tracks with one track jagged about .005 seconds frrom the other - great stereo affect. The range of tones is brighter, more realistic than plugging into the under-saddle pup, and it doesn't wear down the battery. My 4-ch interface has a 48v switch which acts like an on-off switch for the mics - a very convenient feature. There's a 10 dB switch on the ... There's a 10 dB switch on the mics that I haven't used yet - I've been too satisfied to change. I may soon buy a single B-5 and compare the results, but my recommendation is to buy this pair as a low-cost entry into recording your acoustic guitar in stereo.
I'm pleasantly shocked with the quality of this inexpensive set of mics. Not only do they sound solid and clear but they also include niceties like a bass roll-off switch and pad so that you can get closer to your source without overloading or having too much proximity effect. Sound wise, they compare favorably well to other inexpensive Chinese manufactured mics without being tuned overly bright. They also have a smaller/shorter body and come with a stereo bar. For the price everyone should have a pair of these to use as "beaters" and leave your Neumann's at home.
I was looking for a budget friendly set of stereo mics for a variety of uses, but primarily to mic up an acoustic drum kit for live gigs. After doing the obligatory research online for a bass drum mic and a couple of overhead condensers, I came across this set of 2 x Behringer C-2 mics. Looking at the specification of these mics, I noticed that the frequency response was incredibly wide (20Hz-20kHz), so one of the mics could be used very effectively as a kick drum mic, with the other being used as a single overhead for everything else. A frequency response as low as 20Hz is more than adequate for a bass drum, so I was very pleased to read this.Adding to this great specification is the low shelf cutoff and pad switch which is switchable on both mics - essentially ... I will also be using them to record a few live jam sessions to get a quick, truthful stereo recording of how the band sounds through the PA.A truly versatile set of compact condenser mics from Behringer that are worth every penny.
This makes it really easy to bridge the gap between pro gear XLR microphones and cables/jacks; to the USB world of PCs, Macs, RPIs,Zoom, Teams, recording software, podcasts also, you can plug in a guitar (1/4 jack) into the channel and send the signal to a DAC, powered speaker Has direct monitoring. You want it. It has it. Construction is solid (nice tight firm pots) powered by single USB which also carries digital signal. It doe all this easily.
The C2s come in a decent sturdy feeling case, and the mics themselves feel tough enough that you don't feel ultra precious about them, which is nice.I was very impressed by the sound considering the price. I use them for acoustic guitar recording (14th fret, and behind the bridge, about 40cm away) and they have a decent amount of bass for the stuff I do. I can't comment on wind noise because I don't use them outside, but the included foam windscreens and the high pass switch would probably help in those situations.Overall, well worth the money if you need a pair of cheap small diaphragm condensers!
I purchased this stereo pair to aid in recording a family band. I was looking for more clarity than the dynamic mics I already had (Shure sm58, EV re320, AT4000s,) and cheaper and tighter pattern than the Large Diaphragm condensers I had (AT3035, MXL990, AT2035) I needed a quick and economical way to get a good sound. These mics do the job. They deliver a crisp, accurate representation of the instrument. The signal isn't as hot as I was used to with LDCs but it is comparable to dynamics. The pickup pattern is fairly tight and doesn't pick up much off-axis sound. In stereo formation (XY incident pair) I was able to capture a very detailed, articulate sound field from a baby grand piano by putting the mics under the open top, one pointing at the bass strings, the ... In stereo formation (XY incident pair) I was able to capture a very detailed, articulate sound field from a baby grand piano by putting the mics under the open top, one pointing at the bass strings, the other at the treble.I would purchase more of them to used on stage and in studio except for two things.1. The XLR connections are rather loose. I haven't heard any pops or clicks in the recordings that would indicate poor electrical contact, but the physical connections wobble considerably and I fear that on stage with more movement than in studio, there could be issues. I shall investigate and see if it is an actual issue and also if it can be fixed.2. The stereo mic'ing bar and mic clamps aren't offset-able. Meaning that when oriented in an incident XY pattern, the microphones hit each other and must be angled, one up and one down, to fit. This can be accounted for by angling the entire mic bar correctly so that both mics are still pointing in the horizontal plane (or whatever plane your stereo field is) but it is still awkward and not always easy. I shall experiment with some adapters to see if I can correct this problem by raising one mic clamp on the bar by about 3/4 inch.Basically, these mics are good, but the low price means they are skimping on some things. As a starter into the SDC world they are a good deal. As professional mics, they are lacking in some respects.
I bought these mics for recording audience at live gigs, since I had no trust in the quality at all, but the venue didn't have anything.. Just some extra mics for budget live events.. Last event at the last minute I had an idea, The drums were acoustic with trigger kicks, but I was multitrack recording so I thought having some drums recorded "sort of" was better than the (corona inspired) 16 people in the audience.. I turned the stereo set XY around at the last minute pointing at the drums.. Ok they picked up a lot of other instruments too (cello, guitar, vocals) and had to spend some time to align those instruments (not the mics fault) while mixing, but I was happily surprised. Ok, I would never use them in a studio situation if not super lo-fi, but for YouTube ... Someone must have been exploited for that! Still, very nice mics for lo-fi events..
