Behringer Truth B1030A Studio Monitor
Priced as a pair. When it comes to your studio recordings, you want honesty. In fact, considering how important your art is, you should demand it! The TRUTH B1030A monitors have been so wildly successful, that Behringer have sold thousands upon thousands of them to some of the most critical ears on the planet. Due to their high-resolution performance, B1030A active 2-way reference studio monitors are perfect for near-field monitoring applications – from small mixing environments to multichannel surround setups. With its 75 ultra-clean Watts of output through separately-powered drivers, courtesy of true bi-amping (2 amplifiers per speaker system), the B1030A delivers high-resolution sound that really brings out the best in your music. Powerful amplifiers coupled with state-of-the-art technology sure sounds impressive – but what about the part of the system you actually hear? Our LF (Low Frequency) and HF (High Frequency) transducers are designed specifically for each application – it’s what sets us apart from the competition.

The main disadvantage of playing B2031A appears in the lower-mid frequencies. In the region of 100 Hz is observed accentuated sound that leads to the color tone and resonance mumbling. If in the 100-200 Hz with an equalizer attenuated by 3-4 dB, the sound is much better, more true. They also have a large margin of volume, they are very loudI believe that the model copes with its original purpose as a studio monitor for the price!I dont know what else to say about them. I mean, theyre flat, theyre super accurate, theyre super inexpensive!

These monitors replaced a pair I have used regularly since the early '90's. I no longer have to guess the proper amount of lows or highs. The mixes translate well between playback systems. Stereo seperation and the listening field are impressive. Plenty of power for my studio, good clear sound. As I stated above, "works for me".The 10 rating doesn't mean 'best in the world', but these monitors deliver as promised. I have a "works for me" policy; these work for me in my situation.Comparable to other products in this range. I own quite a few pieces of Behringer gear, so I expected the same value and quality. At this price, I feel I got good value.

I actually really liked these. Small powerful and clean. In the past I have had issues with Behringer failing just after warranty expires. I took a chance on these because I liked what I read and what I heard. Well, one of mine just failed, the tweeter is distorting on one unit. Now I have to either replace it and buy a new unit, or sell off the one and get a new pair. Behringer continues to disappoint me. It is great stuff and a great value, WHEN IT WORKS. It is a Forrest Gump monitor because "you never know what you're gonna get."
I think these speakers do the job, but you shouldnt expect hig hend results either. Like others have mentioned sometimes ther seems to be a sort of whistle tone in the circuits due to the trim and db adjustments. On the other hand they are punchy enough, and with the trim and db features this is a great speaker for small studio and indoor areas where theres not really any accoustic improvement. And besides this the price is excellent, and a great way to start your studio and get things set up xithout saving up years. You can still save up for high end stuff, but use this in the meantime :)
If you are planning to use this speaker for mixing it is not a good choice. It has a strong and unnatural emphasis in bass and the sound is not clear enough for a decent mix.I had the same bad experience while using it along with a cab simulator for electric guitar practice. In this price range there are much better choices. If you are planning to use the speaker to listen to music or as part of a home theater it is a great choice.
Straight cut to the point. These cones are 5'' 1/4'' with that size cone don't expect to get a big boom. However, the kevlar plating and ergonomic design help those low ends tremendously well. These monitors are pretty flat. They aren't PERFECT flat. But close.3 controls for frequency and room adjustment is nice. But make sure your changes are final in the room before you change your hearing. These baby's are tough in design material.I made the mistake of scooting them a few inches on my hardwood floor once. Floor was fine, but bottom of monitors were scratched pretty hard core. These baby's aren't going to be loud as your blaring car radio. But they get loud enough to succesfully hear each part of your recording.3 choice inputs are nice if your a real low ... MoreStraight cut to the point. These cones are 5'' 1/4'' with that size cone don't expect to get a big boom. However, the kevlar plating and ergonomic design help those low ends tremendously well. These monitors are pretty flat. But I run 3 feet off the wall and on off axis point in to my ears, so I don't have to worry about the back firing. But if your wet behind the ears just know, with back firing bass ports and keeping your monitors close to the wall with out acoustic treated rooms your gonna have a muddy environment that's gona reak havoc on the rest of your mix.If your working with Techno or genres involving heavy bass or 808 signals, these monitors are not for you. I would say these monitors are ABSOLUTELY perfect for singer-songwriter, country, acoustic, folk, indie, sing and big band.Rock, Rap and Alternative would benefit better with bigger drivers and cones.I track, mix, master (3 different engineers) acoustic, flok and indie music at my studio. Bought this as playback LS for location recordings to add some bottom end and augment 2 small Genelecs. Despite having a calibration certificate showing flat to 40Hz, in reality, frequency sweeping shows that the output drops off dramatically below 50Hz; bear in mind bottom E on a bass guitar is 42Hz. Comparing with the Genelecs and a treasured pair of Celestion Ditton 66's, the Behringer Truth is a little muddy in the 150Hz region. Having said that, this is an unfair comparison as the Behringer retails for £126 whereas the Genelec equivalent is around £650. I'm happy to use this for playback but I honesty would not like to mix on them. If you're going to copy the Genelecs then do as they do and have a reasonably sized, front mounted, volume control that goes from off to max. You gets what you pays for
overall i think it s a tough one to beat. but for myself they just didnt do it. i though they were a tad underpowered, but i like to use them as my stereos speakers. but for near field they have enough. the bass was not adequate, but i like to exaggerate the bass so thats subjective. they are nice and clear. so if you dont need multipurpose speakers and dont blast your bass. these price wise ARE THE BEST!i think the multiple inputs and attenuation is commendible. nice to have on off switches too.hard to say being new, but i have had no trouble with stuff i have had from behringer, years of trouble free servicefor what they are its a tough call
