Hardware is solid and it captures a great true sound without delay. What killed me though was that it lacks dedicated software. It took a lot of work to get it working and I've had to resort to a few work around to achieve what I wanted from it. It's a little frustrating how I have to use it, but I can't complain about the quality of output.

Software is terrible. Took many hours of research on internet to work out how to get it to talk to Windows 10. Could not use the drivers Behringer recommended as they won't work at all with my system. Found alternate drivers but still not 100%. Oh and Windows 10 audio won't work unless you "trick" it into thinking the device is a DVD or CD player - only then it lets the sound play.Behringer need to do a better job bundling their drivers. Internet is full off complaints about this very issue! On a better note service and delivery from Store DJ was very good - 5 stars for them.

Great audio interface for the price. Plug-and-play on both PC and Mac (I use it with both) and is as good at outputting good-quality system sound as it is bringing in sound from a microphone. The volume knobs are small, but very smooth and pleasant to interact with, and I've yet to experience any crackle. My three (minor) complaints with it are: It needs a fair bit of USB power, so if you plug it into an unpowered hub and it needs to compete with other devices, it might power-cycle occasionally (though a powered hub or dedicated USB port fixes this). The 6.35 mm left/right connectors are a bit non-standard for non-audiophiles; if you want to plug your stereo system in via the back rather than the front, you'll need a special cable (such cables are available though, ... MoreGreat audio interface for the price. And finally, when you unplug the interface from USB, it outputs a really funky and loud warble as it shuts down (turning the volume down first addresses this).Overall, it's an excellent interface for the price and I'm very happy with it.

10/10 Fab audio interface
30 July 2018

This audio interface is awsome. With my cheap little Neewer NW-700 Microphone plugged into the XLR input socket, my videos sound so much nicer and much more crisp. The background interfernece is halved (it will never be perfect) and theres no popping or clicking like there was when plugged into the 3.5mm audio jack on my motherboard. Also, I have my speakers plugged into the back of the interface through a 1/4 inch left and right to 3.5mm socket adapter (not included) and they sound great aswell! I am able to leave my speaker volume at 100, PC volume at 100 and control the audio levels with just the audio output gain knob on the interface. All in all its a FAB little device that deserves so much more attention that people give it.

In terms of build Quality, I would say it is pretty solid. The body is metal, and the knobs feel good to handle, they don't wobble or anything. Overall it has a very good quality physically. The size of it also takes a little space on my desk which is good. If you are going to use this for your Studio monitors, recording vocals, or recording instruments, this is a really good buy if you are in a budget. This does the job like a charm and it is very cheap too.

DO NOT buy this or ANY Behringer product!
19 October 2020

This product worked OK for about 5 months, but it has issues. Then the 2nd channel (Inst 2) went out. I have tried to contact Behringer via their web site several times and stated my issues but I got NO response. I've contacted several Behringer service centers and the techs have told me they have quit servicing Behringer products for years. If you have a problem with their products just put them in the TRASH! That's what the company wants you to do. My unit can with a 3 year warranty. Their website is the worst I've experienced and there is NO WAY to contact them by phone. The unit did not come with a driver and you have to download the AISO4ALL and has a latency problem. The Behringer product line should be pulled from the stores for lack of service and support.

The Behringer U-Phoria UMC22 is a great little interface allowing the user to connect 2-Channels simultaneously via USB.With a versatile combo-input on Channel 1, the U-Phoria UMC22 allows either a XLR Microphone or a 1/4” Instrument Jack to be connected. Channel 2 is purely an Instrument input, which when combined with Channel 1 means the user can, for example, record vocals and guitar simultaneously. Perfect for any bedroom-musician.Each Channel has its own independent Gain Control, allowing the user to fine tune the amount of signal entering into the unit, paired with a green signal indicator and a red clip/overload led, you can clearly see if there is a signal going in, and if it is too hot. A Direct Monitoring button on the front panel means the U-Phoria sends the signals directly from the input, to your monitoring setup preventing any processing delay. A very important feature if you are planning to layer tracks and overdub in a live environment. The master output controls both the headphones and the main outs, which is one of the reasons this unit is recommended for EntryLevel/Semi-Pro. However the lack of additional sends and controls keeps the price down. The reverse side is equipped with a USB socket to connect the U-Phoria to a PC or Mac, and 2x 1/4” Jack Outputs to be connected to Studio Monitors. A 48 volt Phantom Power switch is also included for Condenser Microphones connected to Channel 1.Overall this unit is a great interface, simple and clean it does the job without over complicating the signal process and although it has its limitations of features, it is reflected in the price. Perfect for a starter who wants to record and keep it simple.

Easy to set up and use
3 January 2019

Is this the most professional audio interface? No, but as a beginner podcaster, it has gotten me going quickly. It's just plug and play.I'm using Audacity, and had to do no additional setup within the program since it automatically detected the interface, which was great!Build quality - pretty cheap build, but I can't imagine I'll be throwing my interface around too much for that to mater to me. So, if that's what keeps the price down, I'm all for it.I'm using an Audio Technica ATR 2100 mic with this interface, and have not yet run across any issues.I definitely recommend this for anyone starting out!

Very simple. Does what it's supposed to do (which isn't a lot).
3 October 2024

This is a very good device for what it is. It's an interface for connecting an instrument and a microphone to a computer for recording. Any kind of signal processing would have to be done on the computer. You could play back the output through PA speakers or use headphones. It also has to be connected to a computer to work. If you want more mixing or EQ options, something that doesn't require a computer connection to work, or if you want to connect to a guitar amplifier, this is not for you. I would recommend this product for people who want to record on a computer and plan to use computer software for signal processing, though I personally decided that this was not what I needed.

First impressions were great -- metal chasis, solid knobs, decent USB cable lenght. But not having its own drivers and needing to use ASIO4ALL made me raise an eyebrow. First I tried it on my Win7 laptop over the weekend. Latency was terrible. Couldn't get it below 35ms without lots of drop-outs, which is not acceptable for practicing guitar "shredding" licks. My MOTU AudioExpress on the same machine gets 15ms. But I didn't buy this for home use. I bought it for extra guitar practice at work on my lunch breaks. So when I got back to work I tried it there, which is a Windows 10 machine. Also terrible latency -- worse than the on-board Realtech audio. At that point I was ready to return this thing. Also terrible latency -- worse than the on-board Realtech audio. At that point I was ready to return this thing. But then I found an article on Google which suggested using Windows Device Manager to DISABLE all other audio options. By George! Doing so got the latency down to 21ms, which is close enough for me since this isn't my main audio setup. The one trick on Win10 is that it seems you have to have the ASIO buffer settings configured before you launch the software you're going to use. Adjusting from within the app seems to have no effect -- tried on both AmpLion free and Guitar Rig Player free. Further, to adjust ASIO4ALL settings on its own, you have to be aware ahead of time that you need to select the "offline settings" option during install. But I got all that sorted out and I'm able to squeeze in extra practice time on lunch! One final thought, maybe my Win7 laptop would also get decent latency if I disabled the on-board audio. I didn't know about that trick then, and I'm not about to waste time trying it when the whole point was to have a low-budget setup for my office.
