Behringer UM300 Ultra Metal Pedal

This thing is unbelievably excellent. I’m down with serious chunk and couldn’t find a pedal anywhere that tickled my fancy of fatness of tones and clean as a whistle chugging.If you want metal, this will give you the sound you want, the thing has six knobs and they all do great differences in tone and distortion.My mate is a full blown metaller gtar ist and scoffed at me buying this thing. He came round and I said that I wanted to hear him thru this pedal so he did after I dialed him in to my liking amd he blew himself away with me alongside himHe now has one too!!!! Hahaha

I'm 64 and been playing (self taught) since I was 12 yo and after a long absence of juggling life finally came back to my guitar, and this was my first modern pedal purchase and it's all 100% WOW! I hoped to find something that gave me control over the sound and feel: This is it! From high gain to the distortion that would warm the heart of the most feverent death metal fan, this pedal does it all for me. From late 60's hard rock to any metal you want, this pedal gives it to you! Better than expected

The Behringer ultra metal is a clone of a Boss Metal Zone MT2 as with all clones it's not exactly the same in tone as the original , the boss has more scoop and fat low end than the UM300 . But.....the Behringer is no slacker either in bottom end tone , it's tone is the same as the boss but slightly softer ,smoother and less aggressive than the Boss, which in my opinion gives it ,it's own character and is sometimes just what you are looking for , meaning it's better for some tones than the boss and not as good on others, it all depends on what makes your ears happy , I use them both side by side with one set for one tone and the other for a different tone. all in all I like the Behringer UM300 and it has a permanent place in my set up . if you're on a budget or just ... MoreThe Behringer ultra metal is a clone of a Boss Metal Zone MT2 as with all clones it's not exactly the same in tone as the original , the boss has more scoop and fat low end than the UM300 . Buy this!

I bought this pedal for the price and was blown away by the sound. It is modeled after the legendary MT-2 and is so close in comparison! All the gain, level and EQ controls are tight and accurate. The distortion has a little more fuzz but just as heavy. Or crunchy. Or slap your face loud. Just like the original but costs less new than the MT-2 costs used. This is not my only Behringer pedal and I feel this is a great company with great products even if they are made with plastic cases. I highly recommend but if you dont know what the MT-2 is then consider yourself warned. The UM300 is just as mean.

This is perfect for all things metal; speed riffs, droning power chords, palm muting, solos and pinch harmonics all sound amazing and clear with this pedal. This thing takes your technique, swirls them in the belly of the beast then spits the venomy results into the ears and faces of anyone brave enough to listen. Turning up the level and turning down the distortion gives enough clarity to play chords and not have it be a mud fest. But that's an added bonus. I've played thrash metal, death metal, and sludge for years and this pedal nails the tone I've been looking for at half the price of the price of similar competitors. Great Pedal

I thought to try this because i got tired of paying a hundred for every pedal. And I was pleasantly surprised. This unit keeps up with my MXR, Blackstar, and TC electronic pedals. The thing that separates this from most pedals is that you have 4 shaping controls vs one tone or two tone knobs that limit what u can do. The key is to tone shape. With this you can make practically all pickups sound heavy. I have Seymour Duncan passives that sound like actives with this. Even the Gibson 57 classics on my Les Paul sound heavy. You can get a large variety of tones from crunch to the very limit of high gain. Whatever you like, you can find it. Besides the tone, the great thing is the switch. Review of Behringer UM300 Ultra Metal Distortion Effects Pedal (Pre-Owned)

I seriously under estimated how good this pedal would be. Coming from a Jazz & Blues background I wanted to try something new and the UM300 was my choice purchase for a distortion pedal. I plugged it into my Fender Pro Jr having low expectations, possibly disasterous outcomes. However the thing sings. I don't know why or how, but within a few hours i'm overlaying wicked solos over chugging rock and metal loops, I bang out sweet child and it feels easy, I do Seek & Destroy just off the top of my head and it works. Pantera, Manson, Black Sabbath, things i have never attempted before as I generally just use an Ibanez TS808 to play the blues or Keith Richards licks. I had been looking for a good pedal to play along with early Metallica, Iron Maiden, Rage Against the Machine and Tool. I put it in my chain an it took literally two seconds to get a 'perfect' tone that retained its clarity and tightness even when I pushed the Drive to its peak. The versatility and range of tone colors is insane and the quality of the distortion is miraculous. I also own the Behringer Heavy Metal HM300, the Swedish death metal pedal, and this one easily blows it out of the water, for the same price! You can get the same tones and beyond with the UM300, but with greater clarity and firmness. This pedal feels like it comes with a compressor compared to the HM300. very nice product.the best pedal I've ever tested.Only one downside = there is no volume knob and when you switch the volume goes down a bit.Other than that my favorite tool from now on

The distortion operation is like MT-2. Sound and operation is similar, But it has differernt knobs for min settings. Distortion levels quickly passes overdrive/crunchy so it it not usable for that. Bass level is not usable after 2 o'clock setting. Treble and mid levels and mid frequency levels change a lot sound.Level setting is use fun if you don't want to load the amps input and cause additional distortion...Battery changing is easy.
