It's a simple instrument, I expected a little more from it. I got it mostly for the vocoder. I chose it over the Arturia mostly for its full size keys. (I don't like mini keys)

The build is excellent and the tones are fantastic. The only thing I dont like is the three octave keyboard. The limited range and especially the strange functional splits can be frustrating. But the vocoder is gorgeous. Its interesting how analog synth tones seem more resilient in a crowded track, maintaining their unique shape better than most purely digital synth tones. Anyway, a really good instrument. Thank you Behringer.

The Behringer vc340 is great! Sound quality is better than my Streichfett (smoother, less grainy...more like I expected a stringer to sound). I haven't played around with the vocoder side as yet. Overall, I am very satisfied to add it to my arsenal of gear.

Somewhat of an impulse buy/retail therapy/inspo addition to the studio (instigated by the clearance sale price). Does what it says on the tin, and beautifully. Beyond the iconic string/choir machine sounds, the vocoder not only sounds great, but the line-in option allows infinite possibilities for what you can vocode. So far I’ve only run my Subsequent37 in—which sounds killer for vocoded bass sounds—but the onboard vocoder can also be played simultaneously along with the outboard signal. On the surface this thing seems limited, but it is far from it. Besides, limitations are good.\n\nGreat service and fast shipping from Perfect Circuit, but I was a little disappointed that the box was packed with (non-biodegradable) styrofoam peanuts. Took a whole five minutes to unbox and set up. Only thing I found is it won't fit next to a Poly-D on an Onstage stand - but it fits nicely next to an Odyssey! No sound when I turned it on, but see, there's this knob that says "volume". Once I turned that, worked like a charm! Perfect for a string machine, for a choral ensemble, and of course, the vocoder worked PERFECTLY with a really cheap microphone (good news if you don't have an SM57!). If you're debating buying this, jump on it - you never know when you'll need a vocoder (and everyone can use a string ensemble synth!)
This unit is well built and sounds just great. The strings and human voice are great for layering but for me the standout is the vocoder.Based on the VP330 it also has the external synth input which is brilliant for adding different flavours to the vocoder timbres!DJ City processed and posted the item in super time.Great seller and great instrument.Thanks.
This Behringer VC340 is outstanding! I had the Roland VP330 for a while back in the 80s, and this new clone really gets it right. It is actually improved a bit, by including midi. I have stopped saving for an ancient VP330...
This synth has the best vocoder and synth string sounds I could ever ask for. The vocal synth is really nice too. The keyboard feels brilliant.
The Good:Great recreation of the classic Roland VP330Plenty of connectivity more tan the original: midi, USB, external in, stereo out.Nice build with semi weighted keysParaphonicThe Bad:Could have been an octave biggerThe Ugly:No sustain pedal jackTo me the Strings have at times, a slight vibrato effect which can affect the quality of the mix when aligned with other instruments. .Can be seen by some as a "one trick pony" having only three types of sounds.Overall I'm happy I own one, I think it looks and sound great.
Sometime back, Uli announced the VP-330 clone was going into production, and I was over the moon.I was half convinced it would never arrive, fearing a certain Japanese manufacturer would put the kabosh on it somehow, or the cost of production might be prohibitive. It sounds phenomenal, and I haven't even plugged in a mic yet. While its sounds are limited - there is no need for patch memory - it may be second only to my OB-6 in pure sonic bliss.
