Belkin Car Vent Mount Pro With Magsafe For iPhone 12 Gray, Air

I received the Belkin car vent mount pro with MagSafe for free from Influenster in exchange for my honest review. Can I start by saying I love this?! I was seriously skeptical about a magnet holding up my phone while driving, but after using it for a solid month, she’s holding on like a pro. I like that there’s space between the vent and my phone for airflow. I can twist and turn the holder if I’d like. Even throughout bumpy backroads or massive spots of roads that are no longer there, thanks Pennsylvania 😹, I definitely recommend this bad boy. #BeReadyForToday #complimentary @belkin @Influenster

I can easily see the map and directions when I’m driving and I’m unfamiliar with the route. It has a strong MagSafe magnet that works with my Apple iPhone and Apple iPhone case. You can position the phone in the portrait or landscape position. You do still need to have a charging cable and charger to keep your phone charged. There is a cable management system on the back of the Belkin car vent mount. I just recently purchased this item but it was out of necessity. I was tired of driving to difficult destinations without being able to see my phone and having to ask my passenger for help. The magnet connection is supposed to be very strong. I’m looking forward to using this device in a long trip. It has worked well in short distances close to home.

Great product!! I have read other reviews but apparently they can’t read. 1) No it doesn’t charge. Never said it does. 2) this who has vertical events should know better there is hardly any vent holder that will work properly! I have had my share of vent holders and never been a fan due to in time the mount wears out and doesn’t hold. Well I’ve had this unit for a while. I am please with it. I do have it installed on horizontal vents. I was not looking for a mag safe charger due to I have to plug in my phone in order to have apple car play work. So I was not in market for wireless charger. They are some out there. I was looking for a quick connect and with the mag safe on my 13 pro max it works great.Note if you have vertical vents or looking for wireless charger ... MoreGreat product!! Gig Mount

I love this item! I bought it for my gig job so that my phone could be in reach and easily displayed. Using google maps is a must with my job. I was struggling with the map and knowing which direction I was beginning my drive in so the turn by turn display on my phone was a necessity. This clip is easy to install and it has a strong magnet so my phone does not fall off and it is easy to transfer it from vehicle to vehicle. The only thing I wish it had was wireless charging capabilities but it is the only thing missing from making this item a 5 star.

Just Meh-Mediocre Product

Had this mount for over 6 months and I am am still highly underwhelmed. The rubber clip that attaches to vents is too short and the mount falls out frequently while driving when my phone is attached. My device is definitely not secure with this, it doesn't hold like it is supposed to and there should be a black option as the silver/white is ugly in a car with a black interior. Was it expensive for what it is at $40? Yes. Had it been more expensive I would be really mad as this product is just meh. Definitely a lot of room for improvement with it.

Simple and well designed: for the iPhone 12

The mount holds firm to the vent with no movement or sagging and can be positioned in portrait or landscape. As I said the phone doesn’t move on the mount, this is because the ball joint is quite firm, and Belkin has put some good thought into this as they have added a little extra part to hold on to, in between the phone holder and the vent gripper, to make it easy to adjust the holder without it moving around on the vent.It is nicely made, looks great, and feels like a quality product that you would expect from Belkin. Secondly, this does not work with iPhones 11 and below, it is only for the iPhone 12 series.Pros:-feels solidly made-looks good-holds phones securely where you want it to be-nice touch having cable holder built-in-much safer than having the phone in a cup holder-2 year warrantyCons:- (for some) not a charger-for best results, you might need to get an Apple MagSafe case-only for iPhone 12I would recommend the Belkin Car Vent Mount Pro with MagSafe, it does precisely what it is supposed to do, just make sure you have a MagSafe compatible case and an iPhone 12.

Solid Attachment, but Not Perfect for All Vehicles

When I first started using the Belkin Car Vent Mount PRO with MagSafe, I had my doubts as to whether it could sturdily hold my iPhone 12 Pro Max in Apple’s iPhone 12 Pro Max Clear Case with MagSafe. The total weight of the combined devices is well over half pound (over 10 ounces). I was concerned about the grip strength of the magnet and the Vent Mount PRO’s rubber mount.After using the Belkin Car Vent Mount PRO with MagSafe, I can attest that both the magnet attachment and the physical rubber grips connecting to the vent work flawlessly. I find it confusing that Apple's original MagSafe was a charging product, and new MagSafe is only sometimes a charging solution.Belkin’s Car Vent Mount PRO does include a cord management solution to allow a Lightning cable to wrap around and plug in to the iPhone 12 to charge while being held by the magnet. I did not use the cord management feature since I quickly realized that I wanted to occasionally grab the phone off the Car Vent Mount PRO without first unplugging it.Second, I was sorry to realize that my SUV has no good place to attach the Car Vent Mount PRO. Obviously, this is absolutely out of Belkin’s control. The steep design of my center console with the vents set far back over important controls makes may iPhone 12 Pro Max get in the way. I tried my iPhone 12 Pro Max in the sideways orientation, but that made no sense because my vehicle already has CarPlay so another horizontal display added no value.Overall, the product performed well for what it does, but unfortunately, it is not a perfect solution for every vehicle. If I did not already have CarPlay, and if my dashboard was designed differently, my review would have been slightly more favorable.

Now, Apple has built those magnets right into their newest phones. But, these magnets are arranged in a very precise way, and thus you will need a specialized MagSafe holder for these new phones. Belkin is one of the first to offer such holder. This product, the "Car Vent Mount Pro with MagSafe" is a very well-built product. Although it looks metallic, it is made out of high-quality plastic to keep it light so it won't fall out of your vent. The plastic "grips/tongs" that hold onto your car's vents are also strong and seem like they will last a long time. The holder can be rotated from vertical to horizontal, and there is enough tension there that it will stay firmly in either position. Also, the pad onto which you place your phone is large enough that it will block hot air from the vents int the winter from reaching your phone. The only disappointment is that this holder does not come with built-in wireless charging, especially given its "PRO" moniker. If you want to charge your phone while it is in this holder, you will need to plug it in. Belkin leaves a space in the back of the holder where you can neatly wrap your charging cable and it will be held in place when you are not using it. The works very well. I knew this product did not have built-in charging capabilities when I got it, but I still wonder why they affixed the "PRO" name to essentially a simple (but very well built) car phone mount.

Would love a windshield mount…not thrilled now

This complaint is not Belkin-specific. First, let me say that I typically love Belkin products. They typically have Apple-level quality in their product builds. Yes, you do pay for it, but that is to be expected. What I don't love is the vent mount. It blocks the vent's airflow. Depending on the vehicle it can also block controls. For example, when I use this in my truck, it blocks visibility and access to environmental controls. On the positive side, the vent mount makes it easy to move the iPhone holding capability to other vehicles.The MagSafe mount is strong and the product build is typical of great Belkin quality. I would probably love this product if it came as a windshield mount.
