The Belkin 8-outlet Surge Protector with 6 ft Power Cord with Telephone Protection offers eight outlets with protection against power surges in up to 3000 Joules in strength. The outlets supply two-line AC protection, and the heavy-duty power cord has a length of 6'. The low-profile plug fits in tight spaces and behind furniture. The surge protector also allows for phone line protection. A large, recessed power switch resets system and prevents accidental shutdowns. For convenience there are two indicators; one lets you know when connected equipment is protected and one alerts you when the outlet isn't properly grounded. Sliding safety covers protect children and keep dust and debris out of unused outlets. A power cord manager lifts and locks to keep cords neat and untangled. Oversized Metal Oxide Varistors (MOVs) absorb excess electricity for additional protection. The damage-resistant housing protects circuits from fire, impact or rust and prevents dents and scratches. The surge protector can be mounted on the wall, baseboards or furniture using the mounting holes.

Best approach to getting the most/best use

The ability to swivel the power socket so that whatever is plugged in, doesn’t interfere with the socket adjacent to it. The “wall wort” power adapters can often be so wide that they normally overlap adjacent power sockets, rendering them useless. So can can have an 8-socket surge strip that only effectively gives you 4-5 sockets, because of these overlaps. But this swiveling socket solution solves all that, and gives you all of you power sockets back.

I used this to consolidate my entertainment suite. The ability to pivot the outlets really makes it easy to take advantage of all the sockets. Previously, bulky plugs, like the one for my subwoofer, would be so large that the socket next to it would be unusable. Not a problem with this particular power strip, I'm actually able to use all 8 sockets if I need to. There's been a couple of thunderstorms since my purchase and all my gear is still good to go.

I bought 2 of these to solve the endless wall wart issue I have for charging a massive amount of photographic gear batteries. So I have a bunch of these little chargers and there is an issue. They all fit on this cool rotating plug strip but where the heck do you put the plug strip? When all is said and done, the only really good way to use this thing is with the plugs forming a right angle and with the plug tips being pushed together enough that they have tension enough to actually stay in the plug because if you rotate the plug strip receptacles, the entire weight off the plugs and plug strip rests on the plugs that now form legs. If these could stand on end, they would work better. I'm thinking a little velcro on the wall might do the trick. These are made well. ... MoreI bought 2 of these to solve the endless wall wart issue I have for charging a massive amount of photographic gear batteries. The receptacles rotate, not with a click in the spot but to wherever you want them to be anywhere in a 180-degree turn. The unit is solid and it is a great idea but I think they missed the last step of making it stand up or somehow support the plugs that it is supposed to live for. Yes, I'm happy with the purchase. Yes, it will work for many things. Just remember to judge the weight of what you are going to plug in to be sure the plugs won't fall out on their own weight.

My Primary go-to Brand of Suppressors, and Model
18 April 2024

This is my 3rd. identical Surge suppressor I bought, in several years. They're easy to manipulate how the plug pivots, in order to maximize managing to get (especially, such as Apple's Mac Connector and cord, which are heavy and bulky), to connect everything I need to.One thing I don't like though, is that (for some reason I don't know why, either Apple's, or Belkin's fault, I cannot determine), but when I connect the iPad USB Power connector, it tends to fall off some of the plugs; (it does stay okay, on some of them, but not all, so I'm unsure why). This happened with both my previous Belkin 8-plug, pivot Surge Suppressors. This tells me, perhaps there's a slight variation, on the tightness of the plug's design.I do like Belkin Products, however, and do rely on ... MoreThis is my 3rd. identical Surge suppressor I bought, in several years. So, truthfuly, I've no personal knowledge as to HOW these suppressors would actually perform, in case of a lightning, for example, since when lightning happens, they're not connected to the wall. I just make sure I charge all my devices ahead of the storm, and so everything remains unplugged, until the storm passes.

The moving outlets are great!
31 August 2022

I had to plan the outlet layout for a fairly complex photo editing station and this did the trick. One has to wonder how long the rotating outlets will last, but if they are not moved a lot after things are plugged into it, it should be quite durable.

Very Useful
20 February 2014

I had purchased one of these several years ago and found it to be very versatile. I moved the location of my computer and I needed a quality surge strip to be able to plug in my other items. This works very well as you can rotate the plugs to make sure that you can plug in all your devices easily.I would recommend this item for any situation that you need to plug in different types and sizes of plugs. Keeps the area neat and organized.

Works great as described, perfect for small room.
2 July 2012

I bought this surge protector from Walmart because, at the time, they had it for the best price (approx $20). I like the slim design, perfect for fitting under my bed or dresser in my smaller bedroom. The swivel plugs also gives it more flexibility which is what attracted me to it in the first place. The Belkin name brand is also a plus since I have always found them to stand behind their products in the past. Overall, definitely worth the money.

the best surge protector I have ever purchased. High surge protection levels. Well made. Worth the extra dollars over much cheaper ones, especially if you are protecting computers, printers and routers.

[Rewarded Review] Sleek powerhouse with connected equipment warranty
28 October 2021

I read about this device in an article about top-rated surge protectors. Because of the 8 rotating outlets, I can fit more cords into this device compared to a previous surge protector about twice the size. It has a lifetime product warranty and $150,000 connected equipment warranty, which is impressive. Very glad I found this to protect new computer equipment I purchased this year.
