Love the backpack. The design is great and it’s very well made. It’s exactly as described in the photos and video online. I have been using it now for work for a couple of weeks and find it very comfortable.I like all the features- particularly the way the main compartment opens up for easy packing, the large laptop sleeve, the sunglasses case and the spare drink bottle compartment. Everything has been very well thought through. I also love the colour!

Everything I dreamed of! I upgraded from a Herschel Little America (25L) to this during Black Friday sale (otherwise it just seems too pricey). At first I was worried that this being 20L would be too small for an over-packer like me, but I LOVEEE that everything lives neatly in its designated sleeve/pocket (since my last backpack don't have many pockets).I use it for university and work and I mostly just have a bunch of charging cables and personal items (wallet, keys, lipstick) that really deserves a safe spot to live in, and this backpack did not disappoint. The centre compartment is a bit smaller than I thought once I have a water bottle and umbrella in the side pockets. I was looking for a new backpack for work and did a lot of research until I finally settled on this bag. After using this for around a month, I can say that it's one of the most uncomfortable backpacks I have ever used. The actual backpack minus the straps are great. I really like how everything inside has its own space, and I think the vertical pocket at the front is genius. But the straps have made my experience with this backpack absolutely awful.Even when the backpack only has a 13 inch laptop inside, the straps just slide and they do not stay put. There's a plastic strap holder on each strap so that the strap is out of the way, but that falls off relatively easily. It's already bad that the straps don't stay up, but the straps are also at different lengths! ... MoreI was looking for a new backpack for work and did a lot of research until I finally settled on this bag. So I end up carrying most of my load on one shoulder instead of the other, again causing a very uncomfortable experience. The straps are also not very padded, so if you are carrying a full load, it really digs into your shoulders and is not comfortable at all. It is such a shame since this bag was really highly reviewed.

Disappointing and expensive bag
7 December 2023

Given that this is a $300 bag at RRP, you would expect the highest or at least an above-average level of quality and thought that has been put into this bag. "Upgrading" from a bag that cost less than half the price of this, my experience has been disappointing, with key functional issues already arising within my first week of usage. As mentioned in another review, the straps on this bag simply do not work. I find myself continuously having to adjust the straps on the bag throughout the day as it continues to slip. I had to adjust the straps on my bag on more than 6 occasions during my commute to and from the city. I usually only carry a laptop, water bottle, and mouse to the office, so it was quite shocking to see this was even an issue when the Herschel ... MoreGiven that this is a $300 bag at RRP, you would expect the highest or at least an above-average level of quality and thought that has been put into this bag. I had to adjust the straps on my bag on more than 6 occasions during my commute to and from the city. I usually only carry a laptop, water bottle, and mouse to the office, so it was quite shocking to see this was even an issue when the Herschel Settlement bag that I bought for $30 handled it completely fine. The zippers for the laptop compartment continually snag on the inner fabric which results in a routine of tug-o-war every time you need to take your laptop out. Again at $300, I should never need to worry about my bag not being able to open when I need it to...A minor nitpick - the side compartments made to store your water bottles, were quite hard to fit and access a 600ml tumbler. I find it easier to just store it in the main compartment. Some positives about this bag, because there are some things they do get right. The material seems to be quite durable (as expected of bags at this price point). Additionally, there are lots of compartments both externally and internally, allowing you to organise as many items as you see fit.TLDR, for $300 there are better alternatives you can buy at a cheaper or comparable price. Save your money and time, this wasn't the bag you were looking for.

Excellent well-organised everyday work/laptop bag.
12 November 2023

Excellent online purchase experience, with super fast delivery. I considered purchasing through Bellroy site, but reviews of luggage.co.nz were excellent and they had stock available in NZ - very happy. High quality backpack - dedicated laptop storage very convenient, especially with optional matching tech kit to store cables, mouse, webcam etc. Main compartment gives enough storage for a second 15" laptop and paperwork etc (at a pinch). Nice bronze colour looks smart, and easy to identify and won't show dirt. Would give 4.5 stars if possible. Minor improvements to the product would be the addition of reflective detailing for safer nighttime use, and rubber trim/feet at base so can temporarily put bag down onto surfaces with less risk of scuffing, getting wet etc.

Gorgeous, sleek, effective

The Bellroy Transit Backpack is a winning combination of clean design choices, comfort, and capacity. The central pocket is large, tailored for travel but suitable for edc in many circumstances. The elasticated straps can hold up papers or books, and comboned with the cushioned laptop compartment, I have been using this as my edc for work since purchasing. The zips are strong and water sealed, and the straps include stays to stop them dangling unnecessarily. The small number of main pockets has not limited the organisational ability with some small pockets in each sections allowing me to separate different items. The bottle pockets, not the easiest find on a high quality laptop capable edc, are hidden in the sides. Great backpack for office, every day use
15 September 2023

I looked at so many backpacks when deciding on a new bag for office and every day use. After weeks of decision paralysis, I finally decided on the Transit Workpack due to the minimal, clean design, good organization, and smaller compact size.I've been using a few months now for every day to and from the office (car commute), and a quick trip out of town for the holiday (air travel). So far, I really like the overall design, organization, and comfort of the bag. The hidden water bottle pocket takes my Klean Kanteen KTwide 20oz. It’s a snug fit, but no frustration for me getting it in and out, even with my 15" Dell XPS and full-size spiral notebook in the laptop pocket. I was initially skeptical of the open, zipperless tech pocket, but it turned out to be one of my favorite features. All my assorted cables, dongles, and even my mouse fit nicely and stay put. The top pocket is a great place for sunglasses, key fob, air pods, and such for quick access. The main clamshell pocket and front pocket have plenty of room and organization for my needs. My only negatives so far are the waterproof zippers on the main pocket are pretty stiff and can get caught up around the corners at the top of the bag. One hand operation isn’t great on the main pocket. Other than that, the straps are a bit thin and the back panel could be warm on longer carries. Neither of these issues would stop me from buying the bag again. For my use I find the bag to be perfect. If I were a bike commuter in a warm climate, or I wanted to use this on more hours long treks fully loaded, I would look at something with a more robust harness and back panel.Overall, 5 stars and I would recommend to anyone for a commuter or airline carryon personal item.

Great bag, except...
11 April 2024

This is my third Bellroy product. I really love this bag and it perfectly suits my needs. Excellent organization, space and design. My experience with Bellroy products have been great. Which is why I was surprised that the stitching on the internal pocket on the front panel is coming undone. Hopefully, Bellroy will use reinforced stitching in future versions.

Great pack, shame about the straps
11 November 2022

After a lot of research, I finally settled on the Bellboy pack, and on my first trip overseas it was amazing. The design is well thought out, easy to use, and looks great. It was perfect, I loved it, and was super happy. But then after a couple of weeks of use, the straps started slipping. At first you’d not notice and just wonder why the bag was sitting low on your back. A week later and I could feel the straps letting go a few mm at a time every time I took a step and I’d have to hold it constantly by one of the straps. And eventually, I had to use electrical tape to fix them into position. It was hardly overloaded, sometimes it had little more than a laptop in it.My wife quickly went from “You spent **how** much on a backpack?!” to laughing at my backpack ... MoreAfter a lot of research, I finally settled on the Bellboy pack, and on my first trip overseas it was amazing. But this is still a significant design flaw (and/or quality control problem) that is not really acceptable in a backpack of this price.
