Awesome 4K Monitor!

Great monitor with great color accuracy. This monitor has the least light bleed in this class of monitor. I actually prefer this model over the newer version (main difference of the newer model is the integration of thunderbolt 3). I have a thunderbolt dock so that was not an issue for me. I actually found the colors and light bleed to be better on this one than the newer version. Tried 5 monitors and this one took the cake.

Fine monitor for USBC connection to laptop

This is a good monitor. Easy to set up and connect, in my case, to a Windows laptop via a USBC cable - provided you locate the magic Power Awake switch described on page 58 of the users manual. When this is set to ON, the monitor keeps supplying power to the USB ports in the monitor's standby mode. You must change this setting from the default OFF to ON. Then you can simply hit the space bar to wake up the monitor and the laptop.

Good Value
26 July 2022

After our 2017 iMac checked out, I was looking for an affordable way of using a 2020 13 inch MBP as my primary desktop computer. Tasks include general personal uses -- email, web browsing, spreadsheet and word processing, etc. as well as Lightroom and Photoshop. The BenQ PD2705U 27 inch provides a solid working display without cluttering up my desk. One USB-C cable to the MBP charges the laptop and provides the video signal to the display.Recommended!

Good, reliable monitor with nice color
3 August 2022

This is a good monitor for general use with nice colors. My unit has some relatively minor backlight bleed on the bottom right edge near the corner, which is unfortunate, but otherwise there are no dead or stuck pixels, and color temperature and brightness are consistent across the display. Make sure to turn Uniformity off in the settings for maximum brightness, it is somewhat dim otherwise. HDR is not great because the Uniformity setting can't be turned off in HDR mode so the display is not bright enough. Some minor tweaks in the monitor's settings with saturation, contrast, and color temperature make the display vibrant and pleasing. I have connected my PC via DisplayPort, my PS5 via HDMI, and my laptop via USB-C and all inputs switch and work well. There is little to no visible ghosting when playing games at 4K 60fps. It does make small plastic popping noises when it heats up and cools down, but this is typical and not a deal-breaker. Overall, this is a reliable and nice monitor.

Monitor for my Mac Studio
11 July 2022

I recently purchased a Mac Studio to replace my 2020 Intel iMac, and after doing a lot of research, I decided on the BenQ PD2705U 27 monitor. I didn't want to spring for the new Apple Studio Display, and I have to say, I couldn't be happier with the BenQ monitor! I do video, photo, and audio work, so I needed a monitor that was color accurate, and the PD2705U is fantastic! It's color accurate and looks stunning! I think it looks better than the 5K display on my old iMac. If you're looking for a pro-caliber monitor for video and/or photo work, this monitor does the job perfectly, and exceeds my expectations! Highly recommend!

My favorite Monitor
1 May 2023

I have edited photos using LR on my Macbook using the USB-C cable it is a breeze. I am almost a month of use. And I also use it as my producitiy monitor, resding text as it has great clarity. I am coming from a older monitor so it is a big difference for my use. I have a BenQ lightbar however, that does not fit on top of the monitor as it has air vents

Not what you think!

Best Buy mis-labeled this monitor. This is advertised as thunderbolt 3 and daisy chain capable online but there is only 1 usb-c upstream stream port. There is no downstream and it shouldn’t really be advertised as thunderbolt 3 because it’s USB Type C (3.1 gen) which means you’ll only be able to transfer data at 10 Gb/sec compared to thunderbolt 3 at 40 Gb/sec. So the USB 3.1 type-c port is bottle necking your transfer and since there is only one port, you can’t daisy chain because you’ll need another cable such as hdmi or Display Port to connect another monitor or a hub to chain them together. This is misleading by Best-Buy because BenQ does not advertise this monitor this way. It’s a great quality monitor but, what it’s not:- thunderbolt 3 or Daisy chain ... MoreBest Buy mis-labeled this monitor. Switching from a Mac monitor

I was hesitant going from a 27" IMac to the BenQ monitor with Mac Mini, but found the new combo well worth the change. The monitor has outstanding color and works great while editing my images. Great choice.

This is the best monitor I've ever had. If you're looking for an alternative to the Apple Studio Display and don't want to pay so much for a monitor, this is THE monitor to buy! Using a thunderbolt cable really makes a difference. I didn't realize it until I tried it myself.
