Got this monitor a day ago (ordered it perhaps weeks prior) and totally in awe with how well it turned out! Definitely a must buy especially if you create content for stuff like graphic design or music production. The calibration definitely would need a little tweaking but I managed to get it well balanced straight through the FPS preset BenQ has provided. Loving the monitor so far and purchased it at an amazing price point aswell. The build quality is top notch for the price range cause DAMN it's sturdy and so professionally built and being able to peer through a 165 Hz panel with this beautiful of a color accuracy? Even more crazier was how well the speakers were incorporated into the monitor, I work on studio speakers but man if I had to chill not using the actual speakers, i'd definitely choose the ones that come with this monitor over anything else, it's really THAT good, I'd say the lows and low mids are lacking just a tad bit but hey the sound's got more than enough of a body to let a normal user / gamer have a blast listening through it.All in all, loving the product so far, no complaints at all, and good work BenQ for coming in clutch for us looking for a budget screen!

If calibrated, this monitor can become incredibly accurate and should be suitable for work involving color correction.Response times are excellent here. They advertise 2ms which sounds slower but most monitors do some fudging to get to that 1ms number. Compared to a couple of offerings I've tried at similar prices from Asus and MSI, the BenQ EX2780S feels smoother and has less overshoot. Motion blur is excellent as well, and the backlight strobing mode isn't completely useless as the monitor brightness is very good at this price point. Using backlight strobing makes objects in motion extremely clear. The monitor has some handy other features too. The included stand doesn't suck which is a breath of fresh air - even some of their more expensive offerings have awful stands, but this one feels heavy and sturdy and offers swivel and height adjustment and tilt adjustment. The orange bar across the bottom is... unwelcomed but it's easy to ignore. Not sure why they chose a caution orange as an accent, especially when the monitor itself is very plain looking and understated. The OSD (on screen display) menu is pretty simple and doesn't have all the features of other offerings, but the included features work very well and menus are simple to navigate. Lastly, Id like to note that I appreciate that this monitor does not use a proprietary power supply unlike most alternative competing monitors. BenQ has built the PSU I to the monitor itself, so it comes with a generic 3-pin PC power cable instead. These cables are a dime a dozen and have been around for decades, and they take far less space in a power strip than those chunky power bricks. (I'm looking at you, LG)In conclusion, this monitor is excellent and you can't go wrong with it. It's accurate, it's extremely responsive, it's fast, it's bright, it's ergonomic, it's simple and it performs its job to a tee.

In real life, it has a incredible image quality. I've tried numerous monitors and this is the first to give me that "wow" feeling. Color reproduction is incredible and it runs all of the games I've tried thus far smooth as silk. For reference I play shooters about 95% of the time so speed is important to me. I have not tried the monitors speakers as I always use a wireless headset. I do see though where some people can have a problem with a few aspects of the monitor that don't bother me. I'm only using a single hdmi and the power cable and I don't really have much room remaining without the cover portion of the stand falling off. If you are intending on using the display port and both hdmi inputs then i honestly don't see how the cover would ever stay on. Then again if you don't care about cable management then its not a issue. I also really like the supplied remote more than I thought I would. Granted I play at a desk but its just convenient to access everything with the remote instead of using the navigation joystick on the back of the monitor. Overall i highly recommended this monitor. Its on instance where I spent over $400 for something game related and have zero issues justifying its price.

False/missleading information.
3 February 2023

I got these monitors because they were on sale. I needed two monitors, one landscape and one portrait. Under this product description it describes the MOUNT/STAND as "Rotate to Portrait: Yes" THIS IS FALSE. The stock mount is very limited to height and tilt. I spoke with benQ customer support and there is no way to convert/rotate the stock mounting equipment.Luckily these are VESA mountable but all of my savings were practically lost on buying a different mount. I probably would have purchased another set of monitors had this been transparent. These are still good monitors for 1080p. The HDRi can be finicky when clicking off of full screen games it messes with the colors for some reason. Refresh/response rate makes for seamless and competitive game play.

I bought this monitor exactly a week ago. Not counting today, the monitor has been working great! It's bright and the colors are decent.. although maybe I'll tinker with some of those settings soon. The 4k resolution is a grand upgrade from 1080p. Having 4 times the real estate is extremely helpful when programming, modeling, gaming, etc. The issue I have run into today is that the screen is flickering and turning off A LOT. I do not know if this issue is with the monitor, or with the (also brand new) display port cable. I have updated the monitor driver, restarted my computer, unplugged/replugged in the display port cable.. and the problem persist. I'm curious is this monitor has issues using the display port in general or if my display port cable is defective. Hopefully there isn't a more serious problem with the monitor. I'll update this review if/when anything changes. EDIT: It's now been a month and using HDMI seems to work better but I still get the issue where the screen goes black randomly as if it's turning off, then comes back on. It's a strange issue but as long as it's not happening at a high rate then I guess I'll survive. I'd be iffy about buying another monitor from BenQ due to this weird issue though.

I've been using the Asus VX228H for a couple of years and decided it was time for an upgrade. I started doing my reseach and came across this monitor, number one reason I had my eyes on the BenQ EL2870U was because of its input lag. Most people don't know that buying a 144hz or 240hz monitor won't reduce the input lag on your gaming consoles (PS4 Pro and Switch 60fps), it will only work on a gaming pc. Back on topic, the BenQ EL2870U has an input lag of 8.8ms using 4k 60fps or HDR and 9.7ms using 4k 30fps. Picture quality is great, not IPS panel levels though and HDR is okay, not the best I've seen. I got this on sale (apparently they frown upon revealing prices which is weird) from the Heartland store on August 18th, 2021, so if you're reading this in the not too far future, I recommend waiting for a sale, then it's totally worth it.Pros:- 1080p @ 27" is a good size for desktop gaming so you can sit a little further away without missing anything, but I can see how text/regular desk work might not be the greatest. They have nice eye care options though. For gaming it's absolutely fine, you won't notice a difference between this and 1440p unless you're really trying hard. And at 144hz it'll be moving too fast for you to really pay attention to it anyway.- Low latency, no ghosting issues, and a smooth 144hz refresh rate with Freesync. While not certified for it, apparently it can do G Sync on some cards too. Works great with 120hz on PS5, which is what I use it for!- Great IPS color gamut out of the box. I had to fiddle with the settings and my preference changes with each genre I play but I wasn't disappointed with the colors at all. It won't get as contrast-y as an OLED or a VA but it's still really good.- Nice quality stand with tilt, swivel, and height adjustment, although there's no pivot to portrait mode.- Your mileage may vary but I turn AMA up to 3 on almost everything, looks the smoothest to me.- Actually does HDR decently, but could be better. It's not as accurate or as bright as my TCL 55R635 obviously, but it's great to see at this price point.Cons:- Original price is a bit high, so wait for a sale.- Speakers are meh. But who cares about those? You don't buy this for sound quality. Use headphones or even a cheap soundbar or speaker set.- No USB hub or C connection in the I/O. Not a big deal for me, but if you're a minimalist and like to keep your space free of cables, hubs, adapters etc. this may turn you off.- I guess 1080p is a "con" but most 1440p 144hz monitors are more expensive than this one anyway.

There are many great things to say about this monitor. I purchased it as a gift and the picture quality is incredible. I own a Samsung G4 IPS and the colours/detail on this BenQ IPS are even better. I am blown away at just how good the display looks in every condition. 165hz worked no problem on an old AMD graphics card using display port. The speakers, while not amazing, are certainly a nice to have feature. The stand is one of the best on the market. It's heavy, well constructed and planted, you will not accidentally knock the monitor over and it's fully adjustable to choose the perfect position. The cable tuck feature is great as well, no ugly cables are visible out of the back. This monitor is great. Don't hesitate to buy it. Long review : So I wanted something for gaming on my newly built PC running I7 9700k processor and a 2060 Super. I realized 4k I would love to have but for the price it's not worth it. My graphics card is going to do 1440 just fine and this is the reason I got it. I didn't need a crazy fancy 1ms lag monitor. I just wanted something thats great Refresh and decent 1-10ms. I also wanted dual monitor which is the reason I bought a 24" Dell Gaming Monitor S2417DG. It was TN that had bad viewing angles. Figured do I really care? When am I going to be viewing the monitor from the side. Really not a big deal. Fast response time with 1ms and 165hz Refresh rate and under $300. Awesome Deal. For a casual gamer that does play Call of duty and fast paced games the response time was great. However the picture quality was not. The best way to describe it is that it appears as if the brightness is turned up all the way. It has that haze look. First of all I thought 27" is HUGE no way to run dual monitors so I got 24 dell and I just can't play on it. It runs great but going from Sony 930e TV to Dell monitor the colors are not even close. Every setting I tried changing going online and it look good but it did not look great. I bought a monitor that I want to play on not one that looks okay. So for $150 more I went with the BenQ with all these wonderful reviews. Now if your budget and need a good priced monitor that dell is awesome and you wont find better for the specs. It wasn't horrible. I liked it alot just Im about the best of the best always. BenQ was it worth it? So worth it. I now have not played on my TV a single time since getting this monitor. The colors are great the response time is fast and trust 144hz makes a huge difference coming from 60. Everything feels ridiculously smooth. Just moving windows around in a circle I am just amazed. Its awesome. Color is accurate I loved not having to adjust anything it came out of box looking great. Only thing I changed was color mode to Gamer 2. I like the extra pop of color especially when playing. I can't stress enough you pay for what you get. Also 27" is a perfect size it's not that big and this is coming from someone that's going to run dual monitors. G-sync compatible. Yes confirmed this is. Even if it doesn't specifically say so it is. And also confirmed that I was able to enable it. Response time yes I can barely tell the dell felt a little faster but not at all worth losing all the color quality. I feel like you just can't enjoy a game without it looking amazing. Connections: Big deal for me. I run a TV through hdmi and 2 monitors. So I love that BenQ has all 3 options. Even if I want to play on my ps4 it will work! Which is great. To clear some things up because I heard inaccurate information from YouTube reviews. HDR, Gsync, Refresh rate will WORK on TYPE C, hdmi, and Display. Yes I can confirm it works on all three because I tried on all three. People online said gsync only works on display and HDR only works on HDMI. This is a lie. I confirmed not the case. Of course you need the correct cables. But it will work. Currently using type C and I love it. Also was able to use Type C cable for my gf mac on this monitor and it works great! If your coming from a TV with 50-100ms lag. Going to a 5 ms lag is going to be a huge difference. You will not be disappointed. HDR yea the reviews are right HDR is meh I mean for call of duty it was whatever kinda got darker I like bright so disabled. However what they didn't say is I believe is made better for Videos. Because i downloaded a full quality HDR 4k demo video and WOW HDR looks amazing. It's so nice that I wouldn't be able to tell difference between my TV and monitor it looks that good. So for that I can say HDR works great! For gaming though I would say leave off but it's not bad so try it see if you like it. Also HDR-I is okay but same thing wouldn't use no need to. ALSO Love having a remote to change settings on the fly. Very convinent. Speakers Okay so many people overhyped them :l So are they amazing?! No they're not. They don't get super loud or sound crystal clear. However do they sound good? Yes! There great and work better than any other monitor speakers. Can definitely say I will be using this as my dedicated speakers. There is no more need to buy external speakers. They will work for YouTube and basic needs. But don't think this will be insanely good. I do love the. though. Overall I am so happy with this monitor and I got to say. It's worth the extra money. Save up never settle. Your forever going to say if only I spent a little more I would've got better monitor. Don't find yourself there get the BenQ! I also was skeptical btw because so many reviews said all these people were paid for reviewing on YouTube. I don't doubt it but hey I'm honest reviewer and can tell you the reviews are for the most part accurate. I left this review because I wish I knew that ...
