I have tried quite a couple of different bento lunch boxes and none have come close to what the BentGo MicroSteel Lunch Box offers!It's slim enough to pack into most insulated lunch boxes. Initially I was not sure about the stainless steel container but it has worked great for us so far. I love the movable piece that you can adjust to suit your meals. I’ve used it for both myself and my 2nd grader kid, can prep both cold and hot food. I recommend this product for kids and adults.

Caveat - we love bentgo stuff! I upgraded my 7 year old from the bentgo kids lunchbox (thick plastic with separate exterior part). This one is lighter and can easily bigger items such as full sandwich along with other “sides” (fruit, granola bars, cheese stick). I like that the separator thing can slide to accommodate different sized things. I do wish the set included two of these separators to divide more stuff. I haven’t checked to see if these can be bought separately. The black paint on the stainless steel has started to scratch off but that doesn’t bother us (or her). The lid and separator are recommended to hand wash which is annoying since I hate washing by hand if it fits in the dishwasher. Love this lunch box so much. My 3yr old and 10yr old use these everyday and I love how versatile they are. Perfect for hot or cold lunch. They are super high quality and big enough to hold a large lunch. The divider actually works really well and it’s nice that you can reposition it. I used to own plastic products and changed all to steel and glass products. I bought and used for both kids lunch boxes since april 2023. Only problem I have so far is the peeled off coated film on steel products (Microsteel lunch box and Stainless Insulated Food Container) as we do dishwashing those products everytime we use. Since peeling is not happening inside of container, we continue to use it. For that reason, I am worried to microwave the Microsteel lunch box so I have not microwaved the containers. I’ve been using this for a month. I throw it randomly in my back bag and no matter what it makes it there. Vent means you can put the lid on at all temperatures. Light, strong. Doesn’t turn orange when you heat pasta sauce. There’s room for cutlery in the top. It’s like a modern mess tin. Cons, you can’t buy additional dividers. There are so many times I’d like that. Lid can’t go in the microwave, this frustrated me a lot initially but I use a paper towel now.

I was looking for a larger lunch box to fit two rolls or wraps comfortably, but most lunch boxes were not big enough. I have been so pleased that the Bentgo lunch box is the perfect size to fit my rolls or wraps. Plus I can either take rolls, wraps or leftovers which I can microwave in the lunch box!!
First off, all the bad reviews saying it’s hard to open are from people that can’t read directions. There’s a little rubber pop tap at the top that releases any suction and once that’s pulled up it can be opened very easily. When the tab is pressed down, the top is locked on. That being said, this bento box is a life saver. I no longer have to use plastic sandwich bags and the sandwiches and snacks I put in stay fresh until they’re eaten. It’s also very easy to clean and I plan on buying more soon.
My middle school daughter is hard on her things. Cannot say enough good things on how this never leaked in her backpack over nearly the last two years of use. We’ve run it through our dishwasher too. Holds plenty of food. We’ve never used it in the microwave though - just school lunches.
