I was weary of all the 1 star and bad reviews but figured I would get anyway, yes if you tilt it more than a quarter turn it will stop cause there’s no regulation it states it clear on thier website the ignition and everything else gave me no problems just ignore after you turn on the gas don’t dry ignite it a bunch of times and wear it out. If you want a more hotter flame and regulation get the map gas yellow can kit with spiral flame. This one worked for stick old galvanized pipe fitting.

Works as advertised. Affordable product for most basic heat source repairs. I used it to weld metal rods together with ease. Very easy to ignite with built in lighter. Remember to hold it upright otherwise it will flash out on you but if this happens, just turn propane valve to off, make sure gas fumes are vented away, turn valve on, reignite and resume task at hand. Easy to use. Remember safety first.

Worked great.. the first three times. Now I can’t get it to stay lit. The moment this thing is tilted to the side and the flame will go out. Every time.I should have read these reviews before purchasing. Don’t waste your time, spend a little extra for something if better quality.

This is normally a great product. This one however the flame changes during use and flame went out several times. All I was doing was charring some peppers which I did for years with gas stove but used torch for creme Brule without a problem. Been using these for plumbing and culinary for decades. This one has an issue. Not sure if tank or nozzle is issue. Will use one more time and get replacement if continues.

Next, I removed the little black cap on the cylinder and screwed in the torch. I opened the valve until I could hear gas flowing. I pressed the red starter button and the torch started on the first press. I had a small flame and tried to make the burner snuff itself out by holding the torch upside down. (That makes the liquid propane ignite and produces a yellow flame or a flameout). The torch actually was really good at handling this test. I could (to my amazement operate the torch when it was fully inverted. I rate this torch as being an outstanding bargain and is suitable for the great majority of users. If you need an extra hot flame you should buy a MAAP torch which can use MAAP gas. The MAAP torches cost about three times as much as this torch. -- On a final note, DON'T use a great deal of force when shutting off the torch. Simply turn off the torch with maybe a foot-pound of force and unscrew the torch from the tank when storing the product. Using excessive force on the valve is a common way of damaging it.
I thought some of the reviews here wouldn't apply to me, that I'd get something that works. Wrong. The striker doesn't spark. Trying to light this torch with a lighter doesn't work either. Complete fail. This is getting returned.
The is the first time I've ever used a torch. I had no issues. I attached the regulator (I think that's what it's called), opened it, and ignited. Everything worked fine. It seemed simple, like I expected. It ignited on the first click every time I used it. Perhaps I got lucky. For the price, I think it was a very good purchase.
This self igniting torch was only $1 more than the one requiring an external igniting flame. This broke the tough seal on a shower valve of an old farm house formed by years of contact between brass/copper/water like butter. Don’t bust your knuckles! Work smarter, not harder!
