While attending college at Nihon University, in 1988, Kentaro Miura debuted a 48-page manga known as Berserk Prototype, an introduction to the current Berserk fantasy world. This series is just brilliant. At this point in the story, things are really beginning to get into motion. This series is all action, but also has incredibly endearing characters, even though his name is Guts. This one is well worth the read, and is even better than the animated version. This is good for those who want a great story to go with all the action.

The heart wrenching events of the abyss are far gone. The events irreversible, and toll is apparent on Casca and Guts. They just now struggle, endlessly against their own fate in order to survive. Guts hungers for revenge, the only thing that drives him now is his own violence. This volume is a great addition to the Berserk universe.
Berserk continues its 2nd story arc in this volume and its just great. the action of course is some of the best in comics/manga and the artwork is top notch. great volume!
This book was a great continuation of the berserk series, I cant wait to see what happens next.
