is a good olive oil. I like the light taste. The consistency works well for salad dressings. I use this almost daily when starting a recipe where I need to soften some onions or brown some Plant Based Ground Beef. I drizzle on squash, sweet potatoes, or other vegetables before roasting. I also use before cooking eggs, and in baking recipes. I use this olive oil often and always keep this on hand.

This is an excellent oil to use for cooking and baking. Because it is 'extra light', the olive oil taste is unnoticeable. I use this as a butter replacement for cooking (ex eggs) and baking (ex muffins) and everything comes out great. It is an excellent oil, especially that it is an olive oil, for high heat cooking, as olive oil in general should not be used for high heat because of the smoke point. But because the way this oil is processed, it is safe for medium and medium high heat cooking. LOVE that it is Organic. Only thing is I wish it came in a glass bottle instead of plastic. But otherwise still very much recommend.

I use Bertolli spread all the time so I was interested to try this. (I received it as a gift from Ocado to review.) Extra virgin (EV) olive oil is very like wine in that single estate oils are better, different countries produce different tasting oils, and you tend to get what you pay for. This is a very pleasant smooth tasting oil, with a fair amount of flavour, at a reasonable price, bottled in glass. (I would have given it 4 and a half stars if I could.) My personal preference is for a good Spanish EV oil, which has a stronger, more peppery taste. This appears to be a mixture of oils from different EU countries. If you want a good tasty, but not strong, oil for various purposes, this will fit the bill. I shall continue to use better EV oils for dressings, and ... MoreI use Bertolli spread all the time so I was interested to try this. (I received it as a gift from Ocado to review.) I was sent this to review in exchange for an honest review. I love Olive oil and despite claims that it is best not to cook with, I use it to cook with more than any other oil and it is good for health. This was as tasty as other brands I've tried and the bottle looks nice if you have your oils out on your worktop. I prefer glass bottles as you don't accidentally squeeze and pour way too much out and this also had a good pourer to help control how much you pour too. Extra virgin olive oil is one of the most counterfeit produced foods so usually buying a slightly pricier one means quality. This tasted fine to me anyway!
The oil was acceptable, reasonably good quality, the color taste and odor was as expected. My only problem is the plastic bottle. The bottle color is dark as it should be but I always buy olive oil in a glass bottle. I have purchased this item twice in a pinch but I will not make a habit of buying it. If you do not have a problem with plastic it's a good buy.
I got this bottle by mistake, I thought I was getting the extra virgin variety form Bertolli, which originally was a trusted Italian brand of oil nowadays owned by a Spanish company. Because the demand for extra virgin oil, due to its taste and health qualities, is higher than the ability to produce it, many so called extra virgin olive oils are indeed adulterated, and books have been written about it. Not all olives have what it takes to become extra virgin oil which is cold pressed, so those olives who do not make the cut are then heavily processes, heated, etc, and often mixed with other better quality olive oil which is the procedure that this Bertolli Olive Oil Classic has gone through. Now that I have the bottle I am going to find creative ways to use it in the home, but not as food. I believe that If you are already very healthy using this concoction for baking and frying probably won?t damage your health, but if you are looking for the so called healthy qualities associated with the Mediterranean diet you will have to purchase the extra virgin olive oil.
I?m reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. I quite like this oil for one reason only? it?s (I believe) a healthier oil to fry with than most other oils For everything else I use a nice full flavoured organic evoo! I did taste some off a spoon, for the purpose of reviewing, and it was as expected, bland. But that?s what makes it versatile for cooking! I?m undecided as to whether I?d get this again but I?m certainly happy to cook with it. You wouldn?t mix it with your finest balsamic but I would definitely recommend that people fry with this instead of cheap generic ?vegetable oil? !
I?m reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. If I had realised that this is a refined oil mixed with "some" virgin oil would not have bothered. We normally use organic cold press virgin olive oil and rapeseed oil (depending on purpose). The organic virgin olive oil is only about ?1 more, the organic cold pressed rapeseed oil is a lot less expensive than this product and half the saturated fat). For what this is. ?5 seems really expensive. Can not comment on taste or texture as will not use it for cooking/food but will use it around the house instead.
I really like the Bertolli extra light olive oil. Olive oil is supposed to be one of the better oils to help keep cholestrol lower. I use it to bake cakes with and I taste no difference in my cakes. I will always keep it on my shelf and I like this brand the best. Walmart is becoming more much more careful on how they pack such items so there is more confidence in ordering this product thru the delivery service. In the beginning of my home delivery service many items came leaking and busted open now they put tape around the lid and pack better. I will order this product again. Try it.
if you remember olive oil as a kid, when all of it came from italy, often in big square metal cans, when the only way was to take a knife and poke a hole in the top, you will instantly recognize the bertolli extra light olive oil. you may very well have some heritage, or perhaps some members of your social circle. this is an extremely light product, while i like and enjoy first cold pressgreen olive oil, this is not what i knew as a kid.soft, nonaggressive, goes with everything, this is an oil that i actually remember as a kid,. my father was in the italian merchant marine, and they distributed shares of the tuna catch. the chef got an extra 1/2 share, he worked while the others waited for the fish run, and he was preparing authentis old world italian meals. i ... Moreif you remember olive oil as a kid, when all of it came from italy, often in big square metal cans, when the only way was to take a knife and poke a hole in the top, you will instantly recognize the bertolli extra light olive oil. you may very well have some heritage, or perhaps some members of your social circle. this is an extremely light product, while i like and enjoy first cold pressgreen olive oil, this is not what i knew as a kid.soft, nonaggressive, goes with everything, this is an oil that i actually remember as a kid,. my father was in the italian merchant marine, and they distributed shares of the tuna catch. the chef got an extra 1/2 share, he worked while the others waited for the fish run, and he was preparing authentis old world italian meals. i didn't realize what i had learned from this until much later. but now wouldn't trade these experiences for anything.. even now i can make one dish pasta (barilla) one of a kind with whatever is fresh, and make a point of having bertolli on hand.
